Isobelle “Absolutely stunniung accomodation.”
Beautifully clean, location amazing. Only suggestion would be remove barbecue from listing as we ended up grilling food! but honestly best accomodation ever used in Wales. Will book again for longer

Andrew “We had a lovely stay at this property and really enjoyed our time there.”
The house was very clean, well maintained, and clearly well cared for. The owner was attentive and sent a helpful WhatsApp message before arrival with information about the area, which was appreciated. The beach is about 1.5km away and easy to reach via side streets. There were a couple of minor issues with the hob and dishwasher during our stay, but these things can happen and didn’t detract from our overall experience. Overall, a great property in a good location and we had a very enjoyable break.
- Andrew, February 2026Clive “Beautiful presented 4 bedroomed accomodation in a great position to explore Porthmadog & the surrounding areas.”
The property has everything you could ever want and without doubt is one of the best properties we have stayed in. Kate the owner was so helpful & gave us some great personalised recommendations. During our stay we visited Porthmadog, Portmeirion, Sygun Copper Mine, Beddgelert via Ffestiniog Railway, Hidden Gardens Anglesey & Newborough Nature Reserve & Beach, all of which are highly recommended. We would also recommend the Chip Shop across the road, Black Rock Beach Club, which is only a short walk from the Seagull Shack, & the Big Rock Cafe in Porthmadog. We had a great stay & will certainly be rebooking.
- Clive, September 2025Howell “Excellent property, clean, well appointed in a great location.”
For 7 people including 2 teenage girls, 2 bathrooms is a little restrictive. Parking for 2 cars is also tight.
- Howell, July 2025Daniel “Brilliant weekend in a beautiful location, thank you so much for your hospitality”
- Daniel, July 2025Jennifer “This is the third time we have stayed at the Seagull Shack and we love how warm and comfortable the house is.”
No matter what the weather is doing the house provides a comfortable base to come back to in the evenings. Everything is well maintained and spotless. The owner is only ever a phone call away if you need anything. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
- Jennifer, April 2025Chris “Excellent property, a real home from home with every comfort you could ask for.”
Comfortable beds, powerful showers, good internet and excellent smart TVs. All cooking utensils you require with nothing missing. Ground floor fully accessible for someone with limited mobility. Small step up from driveway to house but easily manageable and had a graduated ramp for those in wheelchairs. Worth the extra £45 for the EV charger which worked perfectly (bring your own Type 2 cable as it is untethered). Perfectly located for the beach (10 min walk to Black Rock Sands), Porthmadog (5 min drive to Tesco or main high street) with most sites within a 45-min easy drive. Would recommend the chippy next door, nice food and convenient (Weds to Sun 4-8pm). Ate at The Ship downtown (great portion sizes and reasonably priced) and would also recommend Aberdunant Hall in Prentag for their Sunday Lunch. Thanks Kate for renting your special home to us for the week, would love to stay again if available in the future!
- Chris, September 2024Alex “We had an amazing time at the Seagull Shack.”
It was absolutely beautifully presented and all the fixtures and fittings were to the highest standard. I commented to my husband how comfortable all the furniture was. The beds and bedding meant we had the best nights sleep. Our family loved the hot tub and as the weather wasn’t always the best during our week away we made use of it every day. We had a little trouble on one of our days with hot water but the owner was absolutely on the ball and had someone round to help within 15mins and got it fixed in the same morning. Top customer service. Nearby the house is lovely too with lots of little cove beaches that we preferred to the big Black Rock Sands. We also walked into Porthmadog on the coastal walk which was so scenic and enjoyable. Right next door is a very tasty chippy for the nights you can’t be bothered cooking in the very well stocked kitchen. And a great beach bar just down the road which had live music on a weekend which me and my daughter loved. All in all one of the best holidays we’ve had. We would definitely recommend and return in the future.
- Alex, August 2024Linda “A very well-appointed property with modern appliances and spacious rooms.”
Some thoughtful touches with throws to cuddle up on the comfy sofas after a hard day enjoying yourselves. The owner was above and beyond in terms of communication and help. The parking was good for two small cars but it was a bit tight for the VW van that was one of our vehicles.
- Linda, July 2024Samantha “The property was great, super layout for two families sharing, with comfy beds & good storage.”
Walking distance to beach and great location to explore from. Things that would benefit from attention, the microwave light was permanently on which is unusual/hazardous and wasn't usable, timings on the extractor fans in bathrooms could be shorter as a night time visit could keep you awake for 30 mins waiting for silence, a welcome folder would be useful details such as how to operate appliances, hot tub, lighting, wifi etc. The hot tub was not working at the time of our visit & the host arranged for a maintenance visit, a part was required so refund arranged. I suspect a good number of families are booking this property as it has a hot tub, and have like us compromised on the outdoor space. Although faults can occur, it would seem that more regular checks on the hot tub are required - if this is a facility that isn't reliable then perhaps it should be removed. Automated systems in place for payment, and sharing of property information leading up to break. If you need to contact Menai Holidays you will find this challenging. 'Due to high demand, we are currently unavailable'. This company is linked with Sykes so it's a little confusing who to follow up with.
- Samantha, July 2024Sandra “It is a beautiful home, spacious and comfortable and in a great location.”
The kitchen is fully equipped and there are lots of books and games. There is very little outside space however. It would also have been useful to have a folder with equipment instructions (which were shoved untidily in a kitchen drawer), local information, nearest GP and pharmacy etc rather than long verbal recordings from the owner The only reason I have not given top rating is due to the fact that we arrived, with 2 small children, to a dirty house which had not been cleared/cleaned from the previous guests. We tried unsuccessfully to get hold of the owner, listed as the emergency contact (and neither could Menai Holidays). We then tried to contact the cleaning company direct who, after initially getting cross, told us it was her wedding day and no clean had been booked. She sent her team, all wedding guests, to do an emergency clean. I cannot praise this team highly enough, they were quick and thorough and very pleasant to us. We then discovered the hot tub was not ready for use, despite you, and the owner, confirming in writing that it would be. We continued to try to contact the owner about this, and eventually she left long and rambling voice messages saying she had booked everything and had double checked herself (obviously not!) but had asked the hot tub company to come out. During the course of the week we had ongoing problems with the hot tub drawing out due to a leak so had to keep filling up ourselves, it had obviously not been thoroughly cleaned after previous guests and the temperature gauge was incorrect (we had our own thermometer so could check). It meant that our party, who had only booked this property as we wanted full use of a hot tub, could actually use it twice during the week as too cold.
- Sandra, June 2024Graham “Superb property well equipped and very comfortable.”
Spotlessly clean. Short walk to the beach Highly recommend
- Graham, June 2024Atul “Seagull Shack is a wonderful place to stay.”
I highly recommend staying there. The location is perfect with a most beautiful beach a walking distance away and town 5 mins car journey. I would stay here again.
- Atul, May 2024Katarina “Seagull Shack was a perfect getaway with work colleagues.”
Close to the beach to embark on the part of the West Coast Path as well as a short distance drive to the car park for our Snowdon adventure. The house was cosy and very clean and even with 7 of us it didn’t feel crowded. The chippy next door was also really yummy. Communication with Kate was spot on and I would definitely recommend this place.
- Katarina, October 2023Thank you so much for staying with us and we hope to see you soon - from The Seagull Shack Team Property Owner
Jo “Absolutely beautiful home with everything you need.”
Gorgeous location and very handy for the beach and surrounding area.
- Jo, September 2023Mandy “We really enjoyed our saty at the Seagull Shack.”
The property is spacious & well designed, it was great to have a large entrance hall with space for coats, shoes & beach stuff. The kitchen is very well equipped with enough crockery, cutlery & glassware for more than 8 people. The Jack & Jill doors to the bathrooms work well with all occupants feel like they have an ensuite. The bedrooms were large & the beds very comfortable. Although lacking a garden, there's a bonus of a hot tub. You can walk to the beach in 15 minutes. We would definitely recommend for large families. We would like to return in the future.
- Mandy, September 2023Sarah “We really enjoyed our stay at Seagull Shack.”
The house was beautifully designed and really comfortable. The decor was wonderful and you can tell there was no expense spared in making this a too quality home away from home! The beds were super comfortable and the bathrooms/ showers were lovely. Thanks for our stay!
