It was a pretty cold week and when we arrived the property was freezing. It has no central heating/ hot water boiler. There are heaters which were adequate once operational but work on a timer so overnight it gets cold and every time you’re out for more than a few hours. The hot water in bathroom and kitchen isn’t really hot. It takes ages to get hot and you have to run the water very slowly. It could not get it any hotter than lukewarm. The electric shower is fine but poor pressure which is pretty standard for electric showers. The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils for cooking and cleaning. I didn’t feel like I needed anything from home. The lounge was comfy and although it took a few tries we got the log burner going eventually. The front bedroom was comfortable. My daughter slept well. The back bedroom was comfortable, however, the bed was awful. One of the slats on the frame has previously broken and been repaired and it makes the worst noise every time you move in bed. It kept my husband and I from a peaceful nights sleep for the time we were there. A new bed frame is needed I think. The bathroom sink is the size you would have from a downstairs toilet and hence wasn’t suitable to wash your face in unless you wanted to splash water everywhere. We had to use the kitchen sink. It’s a lovely area with nice walks and beach. Unfortunately we would not book here again.

Thank you for taking the time to compose and leave your feedback ,We take note of all items raised for future guests enjoyment , We will look into the issues with the bed , we had no complaints on this before your visit , As for the cosy log burner we have had many a glowing reports .. everybody loves it no issues before on lighting it . Its a easy process to use and clean ... However if you don't know how to use one I suppose it can be confusing ! The hot water supply comes from a dedicated hot water heater , Yes it can take a little time to reach a temperature near boiling in certain weather conditions , but that's just the nature of the unit and the area but in the end it never fails to achieve its aim . Glad you liked the island ,we are blessed being so close to the local walks on the doorstep and of course the stunning beach . Happy holidays wherever you next end up . kev@fernhill Property Owner
