“The cottage was very comfortable and the little touches like the Welsh scones were very welcome.”

Overall the cottage was well equipped; the only thing I could suggest was to provide a pair of oven gloves (but that is just a minor detail). It would certainly be a top choice of accommodation if we were looking to holiday again in this area.

“We enjoyed our stay in Poppy Cottage.”

The owner made us feel very welcome and it was a good base from which to explore this part of North Wales. The directions to Tyddyn Whisgin in the email were good and it was easy to find. However, do not rely on the satnav if you use the postcode as it will send you to a neighbouring property! We felt very comfortable in the cottage and the grounds and setting were lovely. Nice views and sunsets over the Menai Straits.

Note that due to its distance from pretty much anything, a Petrol Station and Shop is though within moderate walking distance, your own transport would be recomended, We had a lovely early autumn stay and would certainly return to Poppy Cottage again.

The facilities are excellent, with ample parking, a dishwasher and washing machines. There are even airers to borrow! The host is lovely, and is on site should you need anything or have any questions. We will definitely be returning in future!

The location was perfect for our climb up snowdon and our zipworld adventure. The cottage is beautiful and exactly as described. The owner was also kind enough to let us check in late as we had trouble travelling up! Overall highly recommend and will definitely be rebooking next time we climb snowdon!

O'Grady was super friendly. Couldn't wish for a better place to spend a few days, or for a better proprietor. I will recommend it to anyone, but a long weekend is hardly long enough to get full enjoyment of the place or the area. Have a full week!

“What a wonderful cottage, with a superb location and views!”

It was perfect for us and the cottage was super cosy and we loved the traditional decor. It was clean, tidy and well kept. The Welsh Cakes and goody basket with the teas and Coffees was very kind and a nice touch. The farm is lovely and the owner so friendly and kind. If I could wave a magic wand, and it's a personal preference, to have a comfier mattress. I have a bad back and it was quite firm. On removing the sheets for check out, it was evident that perhaps the mattress had better days. The duvet had a small rip in and the comfy sofa was missing a middle leg at the front, so we had quite a shock on standing up as the sofa tipped forward quite drastically! Maybe something to look into? This wouldn't deter us coming back as it was the perfect holiday cottage otherwise and great value as well.

As Sykes owners ourselves, we noticed and appreciated the attention to detail, quality of fittings & a fully equipped kitchen area. A lovely, quiet retreat and a good base for walking the Wales Coast Path, using easy parking in Caernarfon, public transport and only a short drive from Anglesey. Loved the chocolate treats and appreciated the acceptance of our last minute booking!

The cottage is well equipped, comfortable and a peaceful haven to relax in. We would definitely recommend this lovely place for a stay if visiting North Wales. It is a lovely location and within easy distances of some fabulous places to visit to suit everyone whether it is beaches, castles, mountains, gardens, steam trains and so very much more. Friendly owner very helpful could I suggest with having a electric car they fit a 7kw charge point and charge owners for its overnight use. Not many charge points about in Wales and more ev cars being sold all the time.

There was a petrol station with a convenience store 2 mins down the road and Caernarfon was 5 mins away with supermarkets, tourist office and places to eat. The cottage had plenty of character and had recently been renovated with all mod cons, so it was warm and comfy with plenty of hot water! The owner had a selection of DVDs that you could borrow for 50p and there was also a games room - good for a rainy day! The view (when it wasn't foggy) was lovely, looking over fields of sheep and right out to Anglesey.

Caeathro is a small village with a shop and pub, situated on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, 2 miles from Caernarfon. The town is a popular tourist spot, with its impressive 13th Century castle, well-preserved town walls and attractive waterfront. During the season there are guided tours of the castle and special events including historic pageants. There is also a station for the Welsh Highland Railway, which passes through dramatic scenery. Caernarfon offers a selection of shops, places to eat and sea-fishing trips off the coast of Anglesey. The perfect location for touring Snowdonia and the lovely beaches of Anglesey and the Lleyn Peninsula, as well as for enjoying excellent climbing, walking, mountain biking, watersports and golf.
