“On entering the accommodation we were politely asked to not wear shoes inside the van which we totally agreed with to protect carpets and furniture etc.”

it soon became apparent that the same care didn’t stretch to the rest of the place! Firstly the larger sofa had quite a significant dip in the middle which made it uncomfortable to sit on, the curtains were coming of the track so we didn’t want to draw them in case of further damage, the net curtains were shredded and getting caught up with the other curtains so we left them all open. it soon became apparent that the same care didn’t stretch to the rest of the place! Firstly the larger sofa had quite a significant dip in the middle which made it uncomfortable to sit on, the curtains were coming of the track so we didn’t want to draw them in case of further damage, the net curtains were shredded and getting caught up with the other curtains so we left them all open. Most of the blinds didn’t open or shut properly, particularly in the shower room so it wasn’t very private when using the loo! The toilet seats in both bathrooms were just about hanging on so we lifted up both lids to use the toilets so as not to cause further damage, the sink plungers wouldn’t stay in so we could not fill the basin and the towel rail and toilet seats were covered in OLD dust (the kind that’s been there for a while!) the carpets were clean and tidy but not secure in parts which could be a trip hazard for elderly or younger guests! I had to clean the stove before I could use it and the toaster contains most of last summers crumbs! The cutlery was plastic and metal and coming apart so was very wobbly to use. The bedside lamp in master room didn’t work and there were food items left in cupboards which could be out of date! The bedlinen was poor and the duvet covers had a lot of marks on them, the pillows were awful, so thin and papery you needed at least four! All of these problems are easily rectified and at little cost to do so, it’s such a shame because it’s a lovely van that is a bit neglected and it’s not good for Sykes business! It looks as though someone just pops in between guests and changes the beds and leaves! Everything else is left to gather dust, I hope the owners will take note of these comments and hopefully fix the problems. As it stands right now, we would not stay here again.
