“Our first impressions of the property was very disappointing with garden looking very tired and overgrown with weeds everywhere.”

We felt the car park is not big enough for 4 cars as stated. The windows and doors are all in need of a good clean. The bin was full with rubbish next to it from previous guests resulting in seagulls scattering it all over the drive. The owner was contacted and arranged for a second bin which did arrive, we understand it is the councils fault as they now collect every 3 weeks.Photos on property listing are very deceiving as living accomdation is very small, in particular the living areas.Kitchen ...

We felt the car park is not big enough for 4 cars as stated. The windows and doors are all in need of a good clean. The bin was full with rubbish next to it from previous guests resulting in seagulls scattering it all over the drive. The owner was contacted and arranged for a second bin which did arrive, we understand it is the councils fault as they now collect every 3 weeks.Photos on property listing are very deceiving as living accomdation is very small, in particular the living areas.Kitchen is very disorganised with no usable food storage area avalable, crockery in every cupboard and not enough for 8 guests. The fridge is too small for the no of guests stated. We feel the washing machine could be moved outside to accommodate a dishwasher. Outside shower tempruture control was very unpredictable and unsafe for kids using it as it got very hot.No instructions for maintaing the hottub as they requsted guests to add chemicals after each use, not enough usable testing strips. There are small hanging dehumidifer bags in every bedroom which are full and discusting, there are other better alternatives. The back downstairs bedroom smelt damp. The general cleaning and maintenance throughout the property is poor, in particular attention to detail such as high hand contact areas on doors are very dirty, kitchen cupboard doors smeared as not buffed up enough, outside toilet seat broken, shower raiser rail in main bathroom too short so it drops out when using shower. Upstairs bedrooms got very hot from afternoon onwards and the fans were not a lot of good. The conservatory is in need of a good deep clean on all plastic areas. The floors throughout downstairs were not as clean as they could have been when we arrived.

About the location

TALACRE

Prestatyn 4.5 miles; Holywell 8.6 miles.

The idyllic village of Talacre rests on the north coast of Wales in Flintshire. The village is known for its famous beach, sitting just across the River Dee from the Wirral from the English/Welsh border. Boasting miles of golden sand backed by dunes, this dog-friendly beach offers a plenty of space for holidaymakers – you might even get the beach all to yourself! Talacre’s most obvious feature is the Point of Ayr Lighthouse which dates back to 1776. Within the village there are two pubs, the popular Point Bar & Restaurant and the Lighthouse Inn, along with a post office that sells the essentials. The area around the beach, Gronant Dunes and Talacre Warren is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) with an RSPB reserve, home to rare species including the natterjack toad, whilst the nearby Dee Estuary is a haven for wintering birds.
