“On arrival there was dog poo left on the driveway and all over the garden!”

Despite the property being dog friendly (we had dogs ourselves) this should have been cleared by the last occupant but if not it should have been cleaned before the next ones arrived. Not a great first impression. Once in the property it was obvious it had not been cleaned well at all, covered in large and very old cobwebs. Despite the property being dog friendly (we had dogs ourselves) this should have been cleared by the last occupant but if not it should have been cleaned before the next ones arrived. Not a great first impression. Once in the property it was obvious it had not been cleaned well at all, covered in large and very old cobwebs. The cups and dishes had been taken from the dishwasher and put away dirty with coffee stains and drips all around the rims of mugs. Resulting in us having to wash all of the crockery and cutlery before we could use it. The top bunk bed had dirty, stained sheets!! We had to wash and dry them before it could be used, this is totally unacceptable. The towels although clean were very smelly as though they had been put away damp. None of the beds had mattress covers, again in a holiday let with many people using the beds this is a basic essential. We tried to contact Sykes cottage’s via telephone but had no answer and also left messages asking for clean sheets but to date no one has contacted us. This is not the service we would expect from your company. Overall the house is looking very tired, particularly the bathroom with the shower. It is a good property but needs some serious TLC and cleaning to a much higher standard. Very dissatisfied, not worth the 2k plus that we paid for a weeks stay.
