The property

Lon Bopty is a charming three-storey cottage nestled in the heart of Dolgellau, Gwynedd, surrounded by the stunning landscapes of Eryri National Park.

Ideal for families and friends, this inviting retreat blends traditional character with stylish touches, creating a memorable base for exploring this picturesque region.

Arrive in Dolgellau and briefly stop outside to unload your luggage and collect the key before using the provided permit for the nearby car park.

Admire the beautiful stone frontage of this double-fronted mid-terrace property, tucked away on a peaceful lane in the historic market town, then step inside to discover a warm and welcoming open-plan living space.

Begin in the kitchen, where sleek wooden fixtures and a well-equipped design make it easy to prepare everything from hearty breakfasts to indulgent evening meals, complemented by a handy coffee station for your morning brew.

When it’s time to dine, gather around the elegant circular glass table for conversation and laughter after a day of adventure.

As evening falls, relax in the sitting area, where a mounted TV offers entertainment, a stylish keyboard invites a melody, and artwork above the fireplace adds a boutique flourish.

Sink into the comfortable seating for five and unwind with a favourite book or film by the gentle glow of the ethanol stove.

Head up the handcrafted oak staircase to the first floor, home to two restful bedrooms: a spacious double with an original fireplace and storage, and a single room thoughtfully designed with a work-from-home nook.

Nearby, the family bathroom exudes a spa-like feel, complete with rainfall shower, bath, vanity basin and WC.

Continue to the second floor to find the showpiece of Lon Bopty—a boutique-style king-size bedroom beneath apex beams and sloping ceilings, with soft carpet and stylish lighting creating a serene atmosphere.

Here, a freestanding roll-top bath invites indulgent soaks, while skylights frame views of the surrounding hills.

Outside, a beautifully restored bench at the front of the cottage offers the perfect spot for a peaceful morning coffee or an afternoon treat.

Just a short stroll away, you’ll find a welcoming pub, a convenient shop, and the tranquil riverbank, while the national park promises endless trails and breathtaking scenery, with Cadair Idris close by for those seeking adventure.

For memorable days out, visit Fairbourne for golden sands and a heritage railway journey, explore Barmouth with its bustling harbour, independent shops and iconic railway bridge, or head to Aberdovey for watersports, a scenic golf course and relaxing moments by the estuary.

Lon Bopty is a stylish yet characterful escape, perfect for families and couples looking for a blend of rustic charm and contemporary comfort in one of Wales’s most captivating destinations.
