Meet the Team - Luke Edwards - Menai Holiday Cottages

For our third installment of ‘Meet the Team’ we have Luke who takes care of all our Marketing for Menai.

“North Wales is home. It took me 7 months in a city to realise just how lucky I was to live where we do. Small things like grass, sand and calm were sorely missed. Not only do I get to live in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK, but I also get to help others experience all North Wales has to offer!”

How long have you lived in North Wales and worked for Menai Holidays?

I was born on Anglesey and have lived here most of my life.

I joined Menai Holiday Cottages in 2015 after working for possibly the greatest football club in the world (i’ll let you all argue over that one).

What do you do in your spare time?

I am a huge sports fan. I was a keen cricketer for a number of years and lucky enough to play to a decent standard in my youth, I’ve also dabbled in Rugby, Football and a bit of Marathon running.

But most of my spare time is taken up by my twin, and that’s my 2 nearly 3 year old son Henry, he loves going out on walks exploring and feeding the ducks. We’ve got another little boy on the way so I imagine spare time will be a thing of the past!

Three fun-facts about yourself?

1. I once performed in the millennium dome
2. I’ve tobogganed down the Great Wall of China
3. My name isn’t actually Luke…..well its my middle name….don’t ask….! I blame my mum, she’s cost me a few quid when I’ve been on holiday changing tickets!

Most scenic spot in North Wales?

On top of Mynydd Twr (Holyhead Mountain). Not only can you see across the whole of Anglesey over to Snowdonia and beyond, on a clear day you can see the Isle of Man and Ireland on some parts.

My family lived in this area for over 150 years and I also got married in the chapel where this photo was taken from, so its a very special place for me.

Also the view when we come to work isn’t too bad either……

Where is your favourite place to eat?

Now I like my food so this is a tough one. I love heading to Catch 22!

Beer or Wine

I am a beer drinker, although I do love a cold glass of White now and again. I am really into my craft beer at the moment, I would highly recommend trying out Bragdy Cybi, Anglesey Brewhouse and Wild Horse.

As a Marketing person, I am a huge fan of the locally named beers from Anglesey Brewhouse. You can sit back on the beach at Trearddur Bay and enjoy a bottle of Trearddur Bay or you could be relaxing in your Beaumaris Cottage enjoying a bottle of Beaumaris.

What would you say to someone who is thinking about holidaying in North Wales?

Why haven’t you been yet….
