1. Snowdonia & Local Christmas Market

Where? Betws-y-Coed, Conwy
When? 30th of November – 1st of December 2024
Time? 10am – 4pm

Venture into the famous Snowdonia National Park to celebrate local makers and producers from Eyri and beyond.

Held in the car park of the Royal Oak Hotel, the stalls sell everything from handmade jewellery and distilled brews to pottery, knitted goods, and woodwork. Perfect for picking up any last-minute Christmas gifts!

Afterwards, if you fancy exploring the village a bit more, you can enjoy a tipple in nearby Y Stablau and grab a slice at Hangin’ Pizzeria if you still have room!

Or if you’re feeling adventurous, book an experience at the renowned Zip World Fforest or enjoy a hike up to Swallow Falls to blow away the cobwebs.


2. Prestatyn Winterfest

This year the bustling town of Prestatyn will be joining in the Christmas fun with its first ever ‘Winter Fest’.

Set to take over the High Street, visitors to Winter Fest can look forward to a variety of stalls, selling arts and crafts, hearty food, and gifts. As well as Father Christmas’s Grotto, live entertainment, and plenty of activities still yet to be announced!


3. Conwy Winterfest

Where? Conwy
When? 7th of December 2024
Time? 4pm – 7pm

Prepare to step back in time with this next Christmas event in North Wales, which takes place in the historic town of Conwy.

Enjoy a mulled wine and a mince pie as you are entertained by a procession of sword fighters, ladies with blazing torches, and armoured knights. Harking to the town’s rich medieval history.

You can also enjoy further entertainment from street performers, musicians, dancers, and drummers. Shops and restaurants usually stay open later, so you can catch up on your Christmas shopping before grabbing a bite to eat in one of the many cosy pubs, including The Erskine Arms and The Jackdaw.

If you’re looking for things to do before the medieval parade, you can visit the magnificent Conwy Castle, The Smallest House in Great Britain, or wander the towering Conwy Town Walls.


4. Portmeirion Christmas Food & Craft Fair

Where? Portmeirion, Gwynedd
When? 6th – 8th December 2024
Time? 9:30am – 5:30pm 

Foodies looking for a must-visit Christmas market in North Wales will love the Portmeirion Christmas Food & Craft Fair!
 
Celebrating the very best of Welsh produce with over 100 stalls and surrounded by the fairytale scenery of this Italianate village. Unsurprisingly, this is one of the most popular North Wales Christmas markets.
 
Try delicious local dishes, snacks, and drinks, pick up tips whilst watching seasonal cooking demonstrations, and enjoy live music. For that extra touch of Christmas magic, you can also take a woodland train to visit Santa’s Grotto!
 
The Portmeirion Christmas Food & Craft Fair is the perfect place to eat, drink, and be merry in the build up to Christmas!

5. Ruthin Christmas Extravaganza

Where? Ruthin, Denbighshire
When? 30th November 2024
Time? 10am – 4pm

This year, Ruthin’s award-winning Christmas Extravaganza returns. Approximately 100 stalls will be set up throughout the town centre and in the grounds of the historic Ruthin GaolRuthin Market Hall, and St Peter’s Church.

Bring the whole family to explore a variety of stalls, where you will find sweet and savoury treats, drinks, gifts, arts and crafts. There will also be live music to enjoy, with previous performers including a steel drum band and a rock choir.

Of course, a Christmas market wouldn’t be complete without Father Christmas himself. Children can visit him in the free Santa Grotto to tell him their Christmas wishes!


6. Wrexham Christmas Market & Winter Festival

Where? Wrexham
When? 6th – 8th & 13th – 15th of December 2024
Time? Friday – 3pm – 8pm / Saturday 10am – 7pm/ Sunday 10am – 5pm 

Head to the now-famous city of Wrexham for its popular Christmas Market & Winter Festival. Renowned for its football club, which features on the hit documentary ‘Welcome to Wrexham’.

The event will be held at Bellevue Park, which is decorated with a variety of festive stalls that serve food and drink, gifts, and locally made arts and crafts.

There’s plenty of shopping to be done, perfect for if you need to get some last-minute gifts or even start your Christmas shopping! As well as live entertainment, music, and lots of activities for the children which are still to be announced!

Who knows, you may even catch a glimpse of Ryan Reynolds or Rob McElhenney doing some last-minute browsing?!


7. Abersoch Christmas Festival Weekend

Where? Abersoch, Anglesey
When? 30th of November – 1st of December 2024
Time? TBC

Our next Christmas market in North Wales takes place along the breathtaking Llyn Peninsula. Abersoch comes alive with Christmas magic for three days at the beginning of December.

Friday, Santa opens proceedings on his sleigh while the local Sarn Bach School sings choirs. As well as appearances from the Abersoch Fire engine and firefighters, festive songs, and late-night shopping.

Saturday brings a variety of festive fun, from the Christmas Fair in the village hall, Santa’s Grotto, face painting, lantern making, a lantern parade, and a disco for the little ones.

Abersoch’s beloved Christmas Festival ends with the Christmas Tractor Parade on Sunday. Afterwards, why not enjoy a bite to eat at The Potted Lobster or dine with a view at The Cove.


8. Beaumaris Artisan Christmas Markets

Where? Beaumaris, Anglesey
When? 23rd & 24th of November 2024
Time? TBC

This next Christmas market in North Wales takes place on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey.

Explore the historic town of Beaumaris in all its festive glory. Its annual event features a wealth of artisan stalls selling hand-crafted gifts, mouth-watering food and drink, and home decor. Perfect for getting into the festive spirit and picking up unique Christmas gifts!

Be sure to explore Beaumaris afterwards, where you can see the town’s grand castle, Beaumaris Gaol and Court, enjoy brisk walks along the seafront, or enjoy a meal at The Midland Tapas and Wine Bar.


9. Caernarfon Christmas Market

Where? Caernarfon, Gwynedd
When? 16th November 2024
Time? 10:30am – 4pm

Last but certainly not least on our guide to Christmas markets in North Wales is in the historic town of Caernarfon. The Gŵyl Fwyd Christmas Market will set up home at The Old Courthouse and the Welsh Highland Railway Station.

Browse the extensive selection of stalls, where you can enjoy a tipple from Conwy Brewery and Aber Falls Distillery. You’ll also find many gift stalls, including Siop Sebon and Sit by the Fire, both of which offer handmade candles.

Or why not indulge in some delicious food? With Flame and Grain cooking up a storm in their woodfired oven, Ffyj Mam offers various flavours of fudge and Zoli’s Bites, where you can indulge in a Hungarian chimney cake!
