Amelie Cottage

A lovely comfortable homely cottage just a short stroll away from the shops and castle.

Really well equipped, everything we might have needed was provided and the dishwasher was a welcome bonus. The whole cottage was spotlessly clean. The back yard and garden is delightful, great for our dog but just a shame it was too cold to sit out and enjoy it! We hadn’t anticipated the steep stairs; nocturnal visits to the loo across the top of the stairs would be made safer by the addition of a small grab rail on the bathroom door frame.

This was our third visit to Amelie cottage.

It is very centrally located but very peaceful. Excellent dog friendly garden.

Very comfortable welcoming accommodation.

Spotlessly clean with good heating. Good position close to shops, pubs and restaurants. Perfect garden for our dog, secure and fair size. Our golden retriever was a very happy girl.

We have stayed many times at Amelie and hope to return soon.

It is always spotlessly clean on arrival and comfortable throughout. It’s in a great location to enjoy the town and the island. Andy

The only fault we found was the small court yard goy very muddy when it rains.

In a great location, we managed to get parked in the road each night.

Beds were comfortable but single beds were small singles I could smell a bit of damp but it didn’t detract from our stay. We enjoyed our stay and there was everything we needed in the house, good value for money

This really is a lovely cottage.

We arrived early, and so decided to have a quick ‘nosey’ at the property. When we went round the back, the owner was there cleaning up after the previous occupants. He was tremendously welcoming. Not only did he invite us in to look round, but also explained about all the ‘attractions’ on the island, and the best places to visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Amelie Cottage, and would definitely recommend. Downstairs there is a living room with two two-seater sofas, together with a large kitchen / diner, and a small shower room, with a toilet and sink. Upstairs there are two good sized bedrooms (a large twin at the from, and a double at the back), together with a large bathroom containing a large corner bath, a sink, and a toilet. Finally, there is a secluded walled garden at the rear of the property, with a table and seating, together with two sun loungers. We have stayed in numerous self-catering premises over the years, and its quite often the little things that make all the difference. Such as coat hooks, and having a supply of items you would generally expect to find n most kitchens. Amelie Cottage had all these.

Clean, comfortable, with everything you could need. Lots of extras, under sink items and toiletries. A lovely visit to Newborough forest and National Trust Plas-Newydd House & garden. Will definitely stay at Amelie cottage again. Highly recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Amelie Cottage.

The beds were very comfy first of all and the rooms were spacious. We loved the small courtyard garden and the separate 'secret garden' accessed via a gate at the back. We would definitely return to this cottage. The only things I would for possible improvement for future would be the utensil drawer in the kitchen is currently situated so it can't be fully opened - it can only be open a few inches due the wall in front of it. Just put the utensils in a utensil jar on the counter top - much easier. Also, there weren't many spatulas/ladles/things to stir/fry your food when cooking - could do with some more. That's an easy couple of fixes. The other thing would be drying clothes. There is a washing machine but no easy way to dry your clothes. It rained a few days we were there and we had to rely on the small towel drying rack in the downstairs shower room. This is on a timer. Well, it proved a challenge that's out it that way. We couldn't work out how to get the upstairs towel drying rack on so we didn't benefit from being able to use the two. There is a clothes maiden and, after washing our clothes mid week, we did utilise the maiden but the clothes didn't fully dry and so three days later when it was time to leave, they were still damp. An easy solution here would be to switch to a washer/drier. Other cottages we've stayed in have these and as a family with young children, we also have washing to do during the week to make our clothes last until the end of the holiday. A couple of easy fixes overall really and didn't affect the quality of our holiday at the cottage. We had a great week and would definitely book again in future.

We had a wonderful holiday.

The cottage is lovely, so comfortable and clean with everything you could need, only a few minutes walk to the centre of Beaumaris, which is the perfect place to stay. We explored the island and all the beautiful beaches, ending the days in the lovely garden with a glass of wine! The garden is enclosed, so perfectly safe for our little dog to explore. We have already booked for next year!

The property felt damp.

The smoke alarm on landing activated at 3am for no apparent reason. Nice garden and comfortable bed.

Absolutely lovely cottage, so well equipped, even equipped for dogs ( lovely touch ) clean and fresh and the fresh milk in the fridge was a lovely touch.

The extra secure and private garden was an absolute godsend with us having our dog Ria with us, she loved the garden as did we. So close to all the amenities, would definitely recommend and book again.

Absolutely beautiful Cottage: well looked after and in a super position in the village.

The garden and yard area were private & spacious. Quality towels & bedding- Lots of complimentary items available- Tea/coffee/ sugar/ salt/ pepper/ oil as well as shampoo & shower gel. Etc. Plus lots of useful & practical items making it home from home even bits to make the dogs stay welcome. Car parking was on the road and most of the time we were parked just down the road from the cottage as double yellows out side, on a few occasions we were on the next road, but didn’t take long to work out where the free parking was. So many beautiful beaches and walks close by and pretty villages . We never needed to go far . We tried Harry’s Bistro, Dylan’s & Victoria and were all excellent ( in different ways) the views at the last 2 are spectacular . A fabulous bakery ( down a little side street) and the friendly butcher in the deli ( great steaks) We had a super stay, helped by the fabulous weather. Note- not mentioned in the advert but No barbecuing. ( so don’t take your own

Beautiful well equipped cottage.

Perfect central location. The garden was a lovely bonus too. We have stayed in quite a few cottages in Beaumaris and my sons said this one, was their favourite! We look forward to returning, thank you. (Only very minor negative: the freezer door needs to be repaired, usable but difficult to open and close).

We had a wonderful stay at Amelie Cottage, it had everything we needed and such a great location!

Lovely comfy sofas to relax on after a day exploring the beaches of Anglesey with our dog. We had a slight issue with one of the appliances and Matt was straight round and went above and beyond to remedy it. Lovely and quiet cottage despite being so centrally located. We will definitely be back to stay next time we are heading to Beaumaris to see family. Only thing I would note is that the grassed garden is through another gate so not attached to the cottage itself, but it’s a gorgeous garden and perfect for stargazing with a hot chocolate! There is no phone signal in town but the cottage has really good WiFi so it was lovely to escape from the phone for a week! We would have loved to stay an extra week! We have already recommended the cottage to our family and friends who wish to visit Anglesey!

A great way to start a new year!

Amelie Cottage, you have done us proud yet again. You are a home from home and a place we can hugely relax. Beaumaris, Menai Bridge and Snowdonia have offered us warm hospitality this week. All pubs sampled successfully! We particularly enjoyed the ones with open fires/ log burners i.e Bull, George, Castle and Liverpool Arms! Great walk this year up and around Tal Y Fan parking at sychnant pass. Wonderful views from the top to the sea and then across the Conwy Valley. The fairy Glen made us very welcome afterwards!

This is a lovely cottage to enjoy both from as a Base. Very well equipped with everything you could need, very clean and a brilliant central location. We would recommend and return to stay here again ourselves. Our boys (11 and 6) say its the best cottage in Beaumaris we have stayed in! The garden is beautiful and our 2 little boys enjoyed playing and we spent a few mornings here! Weather has been great so much of our time has been at the beautiful beaches across the island! We had a lovely time this week.

The cottage is spotless , lovely and clean. The garden is so nice, we really enjoyed sitting on the relaxers. We definitely want to book again for next year. Just a couple of suggestions - a blind behind the front door would make it a little more private and pillow protectors on the beds would give a bit of peace of mind but everything was lovely and clean so these are minors. Thank you

Superb facilities , great location and nowhere better to stay on the island but beautiful Beaumaris.. The weather has been amazing and the garden was an added bonus for the warm evenings. Our only complaint is that we have to leave! We will book again

An Adorable Cottage.

We've all enjoyed our stay. Clean, comfortable, so well equipped, like a home from home. The garden is an absolute asset to our dog, Ria loved it, a lovely suntrap. Will definitely book to stay again. Will recommend to my friend and family.

A couple of days into our lovely stay at Amelie cottage and just seen the most wonderful sight.

A bright red squirrel just walked across the slate yard! I think I am going to be stood at this kitchen sink, camera in hand, for the rest of the week!! I've seen them near Henlly hall years ago but didn't think I'd see them in the garden!

I came from Menai bridge and know Beaumaris very well-perfect location for us. I am back home every fortnight at the moment stopping in cottages every time, and this is one of the nicest we have had. I am weeks off my 70th birthday. Well equipped and homely cottage, comfy bed. It was just me and Pebbles my Dalmatian as my friends could not unfortunately make it, however he local people, pubs and restaurants have accepted us as locals and made our week memorable in every way. Beaches so beautiful in any season and we are both a lot fitter than when we arrived!! Me and Pebbles will definitely be back. The week has just flown by. Thank you Beryl and Pebbles

Loved staying here in Amelie Cottage.

Been staying in Anglesey since I was 3 years old, in weeks off my 70th birthday. Well equipped and homely cottage. Comfy bed. It was just me and pebbles my dalmation as my friends unfortunately could not make it. However, the local people/pubs and restaurants have accepted us like locals and made our week memorable in every way. Beaches so beautiful any season and we are both a lot fitter than when we arrived! Me and Pebbles will definitely be back. The week has just flown by. Thank you.

The third time we have wanted to stay here for an all too short break and the first time it has been available.

So worth the wait. Everything a holiday let should be. Blue skies, flat calm Red Wharf Bay, A surreally beautiful sunset at Church Bay, Wonderful meal at Catch 22 in Valley then here for the night. PERFECT THANK YOU We will be back!! (please)

So clean and welcoming. Amazing art work in all the rooms by E Bixby - website or exhibition needed!! Had a great relaxing 2 weeks, weather lovely the 1st week but cooler by the 2nd week. As we've been coming to Anglesey for the last 30 years, haven't done much - Just chilled! Already booked for next August!!

We've had a fantastic week here in Beaumaris and Amelie Cottage has been a wonderful place to stay.

Firstly - the beds - they were actually comfortable. This might be a first for us - and we stay in cottages every year! We've been visiting/staying in Beaumaris for the past 15 years and we will definitely be booking this cottage again! We really appreciated the little extras - condiments, loo rolls, kitchen towel - even shampoos and dishwasher/laundry tablets - very thoughtful! A very cosy comfortable cottage! The gardens are really lovely and the owner has put a lot of thought into safety aspects. As a helpful point I would put a modesty blind in the bathroom as neighbours can see straight in from their garden - we had to keep the blind down all week. Also a heated airer would be useful as our clothes stayed damp all week. Wouldn't put us off returning however!

Our first visit to Anglesey - we had a brilliant week and will definitely return.

Drove round the island and visited many bays & villages. Our favourite was Newborough - brilliant place - beach & forest - dogs loved it. Beaumaris has been a great find & will definitely be returning with my sister & her husband. Amelie Cottage had everything we needed., the garden for the dogs was great. We appreciated all the extra's - shower stuff, loo rolls, kitchen roll, foil, tea & coffee etc etc. Aga and heating very easy to use/control. Did a mix of cooking in and eating out. Recommend The Bull & The Liverpool Arms & all the cafe's!! Going home feeling very relaxed. Thank you x

The cottage had everything we needed and is located perfectly. We had an amazing time exploring Anglesey. Walk to the lighthouse + freshly made pizza in the café there, beautiful beaches just 20 mins drive from Beaumaris. The week flew by and we had to leave. Will definitely be coming back. Thank you!!

A very relaxing stay.

The cottage is brilliantly situated close to the centre but is so peaceful and quiet. It was such a pleasure to lounge in. The beautiful garden with the only sound being the trees and gulls. A great base for exploring the area and Caernarfon was a beautiful surprise.

A lovely relaxing 2 weeks at Amelie Cottage (3rd visit!

!) Weather was very windy but warn enough for shorts & sweatshirts between the rain storms! Have been coming to Anglesey for past 30 + years so just chilled around Beaumaris. The café inside the bowling green is brilliant & people so friendly, worth a visit for morning coffee & cake + lovely sandwiches. Bangor pier well worth a visit too. High tides this week have been spectacular . Hopefully back next year.

A lovely cottage.

We had a great week in this beautiful area. Cottage very well equipped and quiet. Loved the garden and view of the fields at the back. Watched 3 good films from collection and lounge very cosy with nice decor. Only one point that beds a bit soft for those with bad backs! Otherwise we had a great stay and loved Amelie Cottage. Very convenient for good cafes and pubs and bus stops. Recommend beaus café, we visited several times and food at The Bull.

Excellent location & lovely views, one day we saw a fleeting red squirrel. Warm and comfortable, nothing more to need and want. Thank you.
