“A lovely home right in the centre of Beaumaris.”

Nice furnishings, very comfy bed and well equipped kitchen. (A minor complaint...some salt and cooking oil would have been nice). Location could not be beat, walking distance from an amazing bakery and we liked all the bars and restaurants in Beaumaris. Other beautiful areas on Anglesey within a 30 min drive. Fabulous break away

The property

Nestled just a short stroll from the centre of Beaumaris, with its fine selection of independent shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants, lies this well-presented Georgian townhouse, Tan Y Bryn.

Set over three floors, this delightful retreat welcomes families and friends looking to explore the charm of Anglesey.

After parking up in the off-road parking space, step inside directly into the open-plan living area, boasting original features and exposed stonework, there’s a real cosy ambiance here.

Lounge on the sofa as the woodburning stove gently warms the room, chatting to the designated chef as they rustle up a hearty feast, with a gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and even a dishwasher to assist.

Serve the fruits of your labour at the dining table, popping open a bottle of fizz and discussing the days events, before venturing to the first-floor lounge, taking advantage of the glorious views across the town to the Menai Straits and the mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia) beyond.

On this level there is also a bathroom with bath and walk-in shower, so you can decide how best to prepare for the day.

Continue to the second-floor where you’ll find the bedrooms, including a double, twin and an adult bunk room with vaulted ceilings and beams, each neutrally decorated and offering elevated views of the Menai Strait.

Beaumaris is a vibrant coastal town, home to the mighty Beaumaris Castle, a World Heritage Site and the old goal and courthouse, all well worth a visit.

The nearby town of Menai Bridge offers plenty to do; visit the magnificent Pili Palas butter palace, uncover local history through the Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens, a heritage estate featuring 3 elaborate gardens.

From here you can make your way into the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, ideal for those seeking some adventure with an abundance of mountains and rural terrain to discover, offering superb walking and cycling routes.

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
