This was our second visit to Yr Orsedd which speaks for itself really, the location is to die for!

!, as far as the property is concerned one could want for nothing. Assuming we will return to Anglesey in the future we will look no further than Yr Orsedd. Mike & Helen

I believe this is our forth visit to Yr Orsedd .

We have always found the house clean, tidy and well equipped. The views over Holyhead harbour are amazing. The weather this year was not so kind to us, but we are already looking to book for next year. Keith and Linda Walker

Yr Orsedd is a lovely place to stay and the view...wow!!, we don't know how the owners could give it up!.On the subject of Yr Orsedd, as soon as we got home we tried to book again for nest year Sat 30th. Mat to Sat 6th. June but keep getting the "checking availability" message but no availabily information is shown, the system seems to stick at this point.

This was the perfect holiday cottage for us to use a base to explore Anglesey, the views are spectacular and we were also treated to a meteor shower!

We will definitely be back.

Lovely well equipped house.

Good accessible location. Extensive secure garden was ideal for our little dogs.

The property was very clean, well kept and the kitchen / utility was very well kitted out.

The gardens were tidy with lots of seating areas and the views are fantastic on a clear day. We really enjoyed our stay and now our parents have booked it too. This is a great holiday home from home... You can't go wrong

A lovely well equipped bungalow with fantastic views.

A few niggles. Pet hairs upstairs and downstairs on the furnishings. Upstairs toilet seat loose and crumbs in and around the toaster. Thank you for a great holiday.

We had a wonderful time, yet again 3rd visit Yr orsedd, has absolutely everything you need, beautiful views,fantastic wrap around garden , inside the property is equipped with everything you need & more, well maintained and makes you feel right home, will definitely be having a return visit soon, dogs loved the garden, finding different spots to either bask in the sun, or find some shade.

The house was perfect for us.

It was a real home from home, well furnished and comfortable with lovely views from outdoor spaces. The whole place was well maintained and spotlessly clean. Upstairs was an amazing loft conversion creating two decent sized bedrooms and a toilet. I would not hesitate to recommend this property.

Excellent location!

Views to die for. Lovely sunsets. The house is very comfortable and very clean. We had a very enjoyable holiday and would stay again. We had many conversations with the friendly and inquisitive cattle next door. The sloping ceilings upstairs caused a few problems during the night, especially in the toilet. My main improvement would be to put hooks on the backs of doors, especially in the bathroom where there is nowhere to put clothes while showering. Also I missed the usual in-house comments book which gives you a feel for the area and general hints and tips. Converting to an online visitors book you are inadvertently preventing people from posting negative or chatty comments as people are often reluctant to post negative or controversial information. The overriding negative is the use of plastic under sheets which I thought had been replaced by breathable sheets many years ago. I often woke up stuck to the bed and unable to turn over. As for Sykes I would like to say they are impossible to contact as only use WhatsApp or text, and do not respond to queries. No telephone conversations! The day before travelling we realised there was no contact number if there were any problems accessing the property. Despite numerous attempts to contact Sykes they did not respond other than to say someone would be in contact as soon as someone was available. We are still waiting! This caused unnecessary stress and is unacceptable behaviour towards a customer.

A great cottage in a beautiful location.

The property was really well equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The local store, less than 5 mins walk away has everything you could need. The garden though, is the highlight. Views across to Holyhead mountain and fabulous sunsets on one side, and to the Snowdonia and Cambrian mountain ranges on the other. There is plenty of outdoor seating to catch the sun at any time of the day. Easy walks to Church Bay and Trefadog beach in about 35-40 mins but you can drive in 5 if you'd rather! We also made the most of the local bus service (61) from the village store to take us up to the north coast and walked back along the coastal path. We were blessed with amazing weather and couldn't have had a better place to stay and, from here, explore the whole island. We, and our dog, loved it!

The cottage was well equipped, the gardens and cottage were very well maintained and clean, the position of the cottage was quiet and convenient.

Beautiful views surrounding the cottage, lovely to see the light houses and lights over holyhead at night. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

Very clean, well equipped and comfortable.

Nice garden with good views. Was ideal for our large dog though there are some low walls at the back if your dog is a wanderer, and small dogs might not be contained by the front gate (this is not a criticism just helpful information for other dog owners). We'd have no hesitation going back again or recommending to others. Very very enjoyable stay.

3 bedrooms, spacious and extremely well equipped. And also the Garden is awesome, with diverse seatings and places to relax. We sure like to come back, when we are again in the region.

This was the best holiday let we have stayed in and we will be returning.

Well equipped, comfortable place to stay.

This is our 2nd visit to Anglesey, it certainly won't be the last. Cottage was a fantastic base to travel out to see Anglesey. The Church bay is a short drive away and is a gem.

The cottage was lovely and clean, extremely comfortable with everything you could possibly need.

My sister and I with our dogs had a very nice week. The garden was safe for our pooches and well equipped with garden furniture we were spoilt for choice on where to sit. The views over the fields and out to see were spectacular. The binoculars came in handy for looking out to sea. We ventured out to lots of little bays and plenty of long walks. We couldn't fault our stay at all. One criticism we had to go home.

Yet again another fantastic break in Anglesey at this wonderful home from home.

Cannot fault the property and would recommend to anyone wanting a peaceful relaxing well equipped property to stay in.

We've had a really lovely stay at Yr Orsedd.

The cottage is very homely, clean and well equipped. The beds and linen all very comfortable. On top of all this, there are stunning views from the property down to the coast and over to Holyhead. From the front of the property you can also see the Snowdonian range. The cottage is situated just on the edge of a nice little village, which has a very useful village stores. It is easy to access local footpaths and the coastal path network (it's about 15 mins to walk from the cottage to the nearest beach). There was also a very generous welcome pack on arrival with essentials for the stay as well as a few treats! All in all a great place to stay on the beautiful isle of Anglesey. We hope to be back again soon! Thank you to the owners and Sykes cottages for helping us to have a lovely holiday!

The cottage is beautifully located, with a stunning 180 degree sea view looking out towards Holyhead harbour, Llaneilian headland as well as breath taking countryside views, to the front of the property.

Yr Orsedd was extremely clean and there was a lovely welcome pack from the owners. We really enjoyed our stay and will return back to this little gem.

This was a very clean and tidy property, ideally sited for exploring the top of the island.

The place had a very homely, comfortable, cared for feel about it and had everything required for our weeks stay. The views are truly amazing and the garden was ideal for our dog to run around in. We were very impressed and will be back of that I am certain.

Another fantastic stay at this beautiful property now counting down until our next stay.

Cannot fault the property except for the double mattress in the upstairs bedroom was a bit hard and took a few night to get used too.

Absolutely superb!

This compact bungalow was spotlessly clean, and the kitchen had every conceivable item you may need to cook an evening meal. Very comfortable beds and furniture, and with stunning sea views from the sitting room window what more could you need.The garden was secure for our small dog - she loved it! We were very impressed, infact we have already booked again for next year.

Probably the best cottage we have stayed in.

Very clean and comfortable the owners have considered every comfort for the guests . peacefull exellent veiws from a lovely Garden with lots of outdoor seating in all areas of the garden. the weather was fantastic the dogs loved the place . everything you could ever want inside the cottage and out cant wait to go back loved the place Thank you for allowing us to use you lovely holiday home it was a privlage to stay there

Had a excellent stay,the weather was on our side as we arrived to a heatwave.

The sights from the living room and back garden are great.It was a good base to explore from.And would encourage a good look around the coasts for you and your dog.Do research before you go,to find all dog friendly beaches,there is a lot, then come back to a great holiday let.

What a great week!

Weather was terrible but this was a fantastic cottage to be holed up in! Immaculately clean, warm and cosy and the layout is perfect, no steep stairs to navigate at 3am when you need the toilet and don't know where the light switches are! Views are amazing, we enjoyed watching the ferries from the living room window. Wifi and phone signal good. Thoughful welcome pack. Thank you.

Great location with views.

The property is decorated to a high standard and is well equipped. The added bonus is that dogs are accepted and they fully enjoyed the local beaches. The cottage is in a peaceful location and I would recommend this property to others. Thank you to the owners, we had a great break.

The property is in a perfect position with panoramic views out across the sea and surrounding countryside.

It is very well equipped with everything that you need to make your holiday an enjoyable experience. We would definitely stay here again!

Stunning views is the first thing we thought on arrival.

The cottage was clean, even upto my OCD standards. The place was very homely, comfortable and well decorated. We chose this cottage because it looked well presented. The kitchen appliances and utensils were well stocked up and in perfect working order. The garden was amazing too sit out in, watching the ships come and go and at night star gazing. Plenty of storage space in the bedrooms for your clothes and stuff. There were books to read, DvD's to watch at night, a cabinet full of various games. Overall,I could live in this house more comfortably than my own house. In fact, I didn't want to leave and my husband had to turf me out, I wanted to claim squatters rights. Needless to say I'm depressed to be back home. THINGS TO CONSIDER FOR POSSIBLE IMPROVEMENTS. the big couch in the living room is uncomfortable and sags at the back. Nobody wanted to sit there. We would of liked to park our car in the garage. Dogs not allowed upstairs and on furniture, impossible task for a pet that is a lap dog and actually sleeps with me in bed. The carpet in the living room is due for a good shampoo. The rug in front of the fire kept curling up and revealing what colour the carpet really is supposed to be. It took us 10 minutes to find the key safe it was that well hidden. Maybe better instruction on the exact location or cut the bush, also I had to fight the spiders guarding the safe before I could retrieve the key. Wifi password is very tricky to read in the handbook. The bedroom window should have a clear sign on to warn people it is a fire exit and should not be opened. Children are not likely to take notice as they don't read the handbook, have curious hands and need a warning in front of their faces. The TV in the living room isn't big enough, it's the only TV in the house and we struggled with the small screen.

A lovely place to stay with the most amazing views out of every window .

Equipped with everything you could need and lovely and clean with a lovely welcome pack. I will miss my morning cuppa watching the ferries and the sea on the bench in the garden. On our one bad weather day it was lovely and cosy.The kids loved all the games and toys . So much to do nearby as well . Felt like a home away from home and would definitely come back. Can't imagine many places have such amazing views and such a feeling of calm and peace . It was much needed and we have come home feeling refreshed .

We loved the house and wonderful views.

Well presented clean and with a well equipped kitchen. My only gripe is that the beds were not comfortable and my mother struggled with her bed on the ground floor and said it needed a new mattress or at least a mattress topper would have made a difference. A shame as everything else about it was great.

Our third time at yr orsedd and again it did not disappoint we can see why the owners brought this property.

The house is always very clean and welcoming when you arrive with a great welcome pack including cleaning products. Thank you to the owners for sharing this property with us it is becoming a home from home for us every year looking forward to returning.

Found the cottage very clean and tidy.

Every thing we needed was provided. The views of Holyhead harbour are wonderful. Spent a lot of time sitting in the garden watching the ferries . For early May the weather was kind to us .

Really enjoyed our stay, the sea views from the property were stunning!

We explored all the local beaches with our 2 dogs, Caemas Bay was really nice with the little harbour. There are also some really quiet beaches nearby that we had to ourselves which was lovely. The house was immaculately clean, we enjoyed using the real fire each night. We had a couple of meals in the local pub and also had fish and chips in Valley not too far away. We felt so relaxed and would really recommend this property.

This was our third stay at Yr Orsedd in six months; which must count as a strong recommendation in itself.

Despite the stormy February 2022 weather, Yr Orsedd was warm and comfy; it has a very homely feel. Yr Orsedd is quite compact; six adults might find it a bit cosy, although you’ll be outside in the lovely garden in the better weather. There are wonderful views across the water to Holyhead. There’s a small shop in the village, and the big supermarkets in Holyhead are about fifteen minutes away. Recommended.

Positioned near Church Bay with a lovely quiet cove -Trefadog - less than 5 minutes drive away Very well equipped cottage, tastefully decorated with a subtle coastal theme. Private and quiet getaway.

A cosy and well equipped holiday home.

Everything worked well, and great WiFi. The best views in Anglesey over the water to Holyhead. Yr Orsedd was great for two of us with a dog. It would be okay for four, but a bit tight for six adults. We’ve booked to stay again, so recommended.

Part of the garden is not suitable for dogs, we had to close it off.

Lovely location. Views from the property were like no other.. beautiful. Lots of nights sitting out in the garden taking in the view. House was lovely , modern, very clean and had everything you could possibly need. Booked again for next year.

The views from the cottage were amazing, the photos didn't do it justice.

Amazing location and beautiful surroundings. Perfect for our family, would definitely recommend. Our only recmendation would be to add blinds to the downstairs windows. We arrived on a very hot and sunny week and so some shade inside would have been great.

The cottage was as advertised.

Fantastic location with great views. The cottage was well equipped and clean. Sykes cottages however are a let down. Originally booked for June but had to move date due to Covid. The September date was advertised at a rate £65 cheaper yet we paid extra compared to June. Not impressed.

The cottage itself was fabulous, very well appointed and presented, clearly used by the owners rather than just a holiday rental.

Great location, quiet spot with no near neighbours, but with easy access to the main road and fantastic views of Holy Island. Spacious, well maintained, secure garden for our dog, although fences might be too low for dogs that jump so supervision needed. Highly recommend Yr Orsedd, we loved it. As regards Sykes, we would have appreciated a less cynical and more generous approach when our booking had to be changed due to the coronavirus pandemic. A separate holiday booking, via a well known charity, was also affected but the process could not have been more different. The charity waived the usual rebooking fee and also offset a large proportion of the increased rental incurred when the booking was changed. Sadly there was no such approach with Sykes, it was very much business as usual despite the extreme circumstances. Needless to say we're far more likely to rebook with the charity.

Has issues with boiler kept having errors and switching itself off

A cottage with spectacular views.

I can quite see why the owners purchased this after holidaying here themselves. It is obvious that it is a well loved property. It is the best equipped self catering property we have ever stayed in. Some of the information on local amenities could do with a little updating but if you have internet access you can check for yourself, especially using the WiFi access at the cottage. The small local shop is well stocked with all your basic needs & more. A very comfortable property with a range of entertainments for young & old. We holidayed with 3 generations of our family & we all enjoyed our stay. We would consider a return stay
