    “Lovely welcome gift, on arrival.”

It's a great place to then explore Anglesey. Not a place if you rely on technology as no WiFi but suited us fine. Not sure on the accuracy of the distance to the nearest pub but we found it.

The property

Gwenallt is an original mill workers cottage dating from the 1700s. The mill still stands in the field behind.

It has been kept in character as much as possible.

The multi-fuel burner is set in the original stone inglenook.

Electric radiators also.

Beamed ceilings low in places.

There is a double room plus a single room for a third guest.

Pretty private garden with mature weeping willow tree and table and chairs.

TV/DVD player, microwave,toaster, oven, fridge, freezer,washing machine.

With pubs only a short distance away, a leisurely afternoon can be spent here, plus there are also wonderful forest and coastal walks from the village, a cafe serving afternoon tea, the Anglesey Race Track is nearby.

Just a short drive away are beautiful beaches at Llanddwyn, Aberffraw, and Cable Bay.

Rhosneigr is also worthy of a visit.

The Isle of Anglesey Coastal Path passes nearby and the kids will love the activities at Foel Farm Park and Anglesey Sea Zoo.

A unique holiday experience.

About the location

MALLTRAETH

Newborough 2 miles; Rhosneigr 8 miles.

The small village of Malltraeth lies in the south west corner of Anglesey, at the head of the long inlet formed by the Cefni Estuary and close to the popular Newborough Forest and Warren sand dunes. Malltraeth Pool and the magnificent sweep of marshes and sand dunes, which stretch south to Llanddwyn Island, are all part of a National Nature Reserve. The whole area is renowned for its birdlife and Malltraeth was once home to the famous wildlife artist Charles F Tunnicliffe. There are wonderful forest and coastal walks from the village, which has a pub, a cafe serving afternoon tea and a chip shop (also selling basic items/newspapers etc). Close by are beautiful beaches at Llanddwyn (reputedly the 4th best in Britain), Aberffraw, and Cable Bay, or head to Rhosneigr, which is renowned for its all year round watersports facilities.

Note: There is slightly reduced head height in the bathroom and on the stairs.
