Perth Hwfa

We were a 3-generational family visiting.

The description of the property is accurate. The home was a long-term family home and has everything you could need. The views of Snowdonia over the estuary are magical and ever-changing. Plenty of open garden space to relax and play in. Probably summed up by my 13 year old grandson, as we closed the door for the last time, saying "I shall really miss this house". We had a great stay and hope to return one day .

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely house, which has fabulous views over the estuary.

We particularly enjoyed sitting at the kitchen table with the double doors open, taking in the view over breakfast and dinner. There’s loads to do in the surrounding area. We went coasteering at Porth Dafarch and canyoning in Bethesda with Gradient Adventure, both were fantastic and highly recommended if you have a head for heights! We also enjoyed the lovely beach near Fraggle Rock, where you can watch the planes taking off from RAF Valley, as well as the quieter beach over the dunes, which was perfect for paddleboarding. The village has a decent fish and chip shop, while the pub is good value and we particularly enjoyed the bingo night, even winning a line! Newborough Beach is only a short drive away and is well worth a visit. There are lots of walks through the forest, where we were lucky enough to spot red squirrels and newts. The beach itself is huge and, although it can get quite busy and parking is £15, there are good facilities, including food and ice cream vans and toilets. Dogs are restricted to one half of the beach, but there is still plenty of space. All in all, we had a brilliant holiday and would highly recommend the house. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we’ve already booked our stay for 2027!

Such a comfortable house, really feels more like a home!

! Everything you need is provided, comfy beds and warm throughout the house. Excellent communication with the owner re a few maintenance bits that arose due to Storm Claudia!! We have stayed here now for quite a few years and have never been disappointed!! Always clean and tidy,the garden is so well maintained too.

What a gem of a property.

Fully equipped, beautiful location and scenery, so family orientated, total joy. We stayed as a family of 5 and 1 baby plus dog. All had such a lovely time. Lit the log burner in the evenings, made apple crumble from the apples in the orchard and loved running around the large garden. Great family well equipped kitchen plus large lounge. Utility room, lovely cosy bedrooms with super balcony leading from main bedroom. Would not hesitate to book again. Would highly recommend.

We love this property and have just spent a second week here after visiting in July 2024.

I love opening up the double doors in the kitchen and sitting outside in the morning sunshine with a cuppa. It is one of the most well equipped houses we have ever stayed in. Lots of room inside and out. Just wish it had an extra bedroom as next year we have booked a different property with a fourth bedroom as our party size is increasing otherwise we would have come back here year after year.

Beautiful place to stay, so well equipped better than any other holiday rental I have used.

Appreciate all the eco cleaning equipment and recycling facilities Cozy wood burning stove with plenty of logs available.TV plenty of choice to watch, amazing book collection. Beautiful garden well maintained , lots of birds and rabbits to see. It would have been good to let dogs off the lead but garden is not secure unfortunately. Great not to have to read electric or oil meter or buy wood. Super stay, Thankyou to the owners and Menai cottages

This was a lovely house in a wonderful setting.

It was comfortable, warm, and very well equipped! Chris kept in contact with us until the day of arrival with info as necessary which was very helpful. We had a wonderful relaxed family Christmas and even the weather brightened up for us while there. The sight of rabbits and pheasants daily perked up our stay also.

Only scored it marginally lower on facilities as the Wi-Fi was out all week following Storm Darragh. But it was no one’s fault.

Such a comfortable and homely house, warm and inviting.

Everything we needed was there and it’s ideally situated for so much of the island to explore. A very special place to stay, we came home after our special two weeks feeling good again!!

The well maintained grounds offered a relaxing place to chill out with a glass of wine in the evening, taking in the view to the countryside, estuary and Snowden. The location offers an ideal base to explore the lovely island of Ynys Mon.

This was a wonderful holiday cottage.

It was fully equipped with everything we needed. The kids didn’t want to leave. The garden was lovely, the setting was perfect and the house was homely and obviously well cared for.

Gorgeous garden with staggering views 360 degrees. Very spacious.

We really enjoyed our stay at Perth Hwfa, there are some incredible views from almost every window.

The house is very comfortable and homely, the garden is so peaceful and relaxing. There are some good walks from the house, Newborough forest and beach is well worth the long walk and Ynys Llanddwyn is one of the most beautiful places we have been to.

Perth Hwfa was an amazing house to stay in.

The mountainous vista was really impressive and the garden such a peaceful place. The house was very well equipped and extremely comfortable, full of personality and character. We really enjoyed the personal touches around the house as well, and the books were fabulous on the bookshelf. Would definitely recommend and stay again. So much to see and do in Anglesey it’s a stunning island with spectacular beaches and beautiful countryside We were visiting with grown up family of 5

Loved the house and the location.

We thought that the downstairs bathroom would benefit from an extractor fan. We also thought that future guests would benefit from the provision of some garden loungers (and we have mentioned this already to the owner). We much enjoyed our stay and would recommend the property to prospective renters.

Fantastic setting, garden was great size.

Very spacious property well kitted out. Is in need of some TLC. Entertainment system dated, who uses a DVD/CD player everything is streamed. The downstairs bathroom was very poor, damp, smelly, paint peeling, mould on tiles, heater inadequate,shower totally inadequate lacking power, shower head too short, cubicle too small. The lack of a proper shower upstairs is an issue.

Perth Hwfa is a wonderful welcoming space that delivered so much in terms of views, wildlife, home comforts, peace and quiet.

Just what us 4 old friends needed for our week away. I started each day with tea in bed, surrounded by birdsong and wonderful views of the estuary and beyond to Snowdonia - idyllic. There was a problem with the hot water but this was resolved before we had even noticed. Other than that non event we had a relaxing and memorable stay in one of the comfiest rentals I’ve ever visited - the beds were super comfortable and I would highly recommend. Thank you.

A lovely, quiet cottage in a very peaceful location.

Very comfortable and clean with lots of space. The walks from the cottage were fabulous and other areas easily accessible by car. Would definitely recommend!

Wanted a family break away from it all at christmas and thats what we got was amazing.

Shops short drive away amazing views would of loved a little less cloud to see mountains clearer but thats not the cottages fault lol will have to come back in the summer. Log fire was an amazing feature even though not really needed as cottage was lovely and warm throughout,plenty of room for our 2 doggies too x

Spotlessly clean and warm, with every comfort. It isn’t a posh show home, but we’re not looking for that. The position and views are magnificent. We are sure to visit again.

The walks nearby the cottage were great for us and our dog as well as only being a short drive from some lovely beaches etc. We had a fabulous week at Perth Hwfa, so much so we didn’t want to leave!

Everything you could want in a holiday cottage. Comfortable and well equipped with lovely helpful touches. Walks from the door step. Beautiful beaches close by and strolls through the forest to the beach. We had a minor problem with the hot water when we arrived which was sorted promptly with no fuss. Jackie the housekeeper was fantastically helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to staying again.

Brilliant location, views outstanding, loved the area.

The house was comfortable and welcoming. The weather when we were there was tremendous, so it was tee shirts all day everyday and the outside area came into it's own, plus the local wildlife added another dimension to the property. If your looking to get away from the everyday clutter and chill this house will help you do that. There are area's around the house a little TLC wouldn't come amiss, but nothing that detracts from the location,comfort peace and quiet this house offers.

Absolutely loved Perth Hwfa.

The house is a very homely cottage and because of its age it was in need of a few repairs. Nothing huge and absolutely nothing that affected our holiday. Perth Hwfa was a beautiful house in a phenomenal spot. Just as a matter of feedback- In the listing it says the house is in it’s own 30 acres but in the house details it mentions that these fields are farmed by a nearby farmer so it would be good if it could be made clear whether you can walk in them and if so, is there a preferred area/route. The log burner was toasty and warmed up the lounge beautifully on a cold February day. The view even on a cloudy day is unbelievable . we walked down to the beach and along to the Joiners arms pub and had a drink, crisps and a game of pool. All from the door step. All in all a very relaxing holiday. We could imagine ourselves enjoying the BBQ and the garden (which is much bigger than the pictures seem) a bit more in the summer there. If the gate and fence at the entrance just had a row of chicken wire attached to the back this would help it be a little more secure for dogs. (I made the mistake of letting one of mine off the lead in the garden and he ran off about 1/2 a mile with me chasing a la Benny Hill show! I only did it once!) but it’s a beautiful home in a beautiful spot and we had a much needed relaxing week. Thank you! (Ps: the children LOVED the rope swing!)

A welcoming atmosphere, the property is in a most beautiful setting.

Our grandchildren and our Spaniel really enjoyed the garden and surrounding fields. The property had everything we needed. The view from the balcony was stunning.

Brilliant location

Very well maintained, everything you could possibly need for your stay, lovely location and very clean.

The only thing i would say is we had a two year old with us. And there is a a3ft drop at the end of the garden, and i think anybody with young children which are welcome at the property would feel more relaxed if it was fenced off.

This wonderful farmhouse was everything we hoped and more.

Care and attention given to comfort, information for appliances, and entertainment. We particularly appreciated the smart tv, enabling us to login to Prime and Netflix- useful in the couple of bad-weather days. The log burner and plentiful supply of fuel completed the homely feeling. Amazing views, a plethora of birds ( thanks for the bird food), and overall a visit we hope to repeat soon.

Holiday property is very comfortable perfect for going to see other attractions in the area such as Portmeirion, Conway castle south stack etc .

We love Perth Hwfa and are returning later this year.

It's a lovely house in an out of the way place, lovely views, it's a pity the only pub in the village is close and at this point in time not likely to open, so it's a drive to the next village not a walk we'd hoped for on a nice evening. All in all a nice place to stay.

Absolutely beautiful setting and a really lovely, comfortable house.

It was very clean and welcoming and the kitchen was really well equipped with utensils, plates, glassware etc. My husband always takes pans and utensils when we go away just in case but this cottage had everything we needed! The garden was great for the boys and our dog and was so pretty with the daffodils, crocus and snowdrops in bloom and the view over the estuary towards Newborough Warren was stunning. We really appreciated the woodpile for the fire and the Parking Pass for Newborough was extremely thoughtful. We loved it. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

The cottage was as described however the garden was not enclosed which is how it had been advertised, this needs attention as it was advertised as dog friendly.

Perth Hwfa is hard to fault for the price.

A pretty house in pretty grounds with exceptional views. The house is well-equipped and spacious, and has everything that you could reasonably expect, from sufficient kitchen equipment to good bed linen and towels, a modern Smart TV and a fast internet connection.

we have a fantastic time here can't wait to go back, the house has everything you could possible want an it's so relaxing, after very wet an cold days on the beaches to go back to the lovely wood burner all the beds were very comfortable the place was amazing , great thought has gone into making it a very comfortable an cosy place to stay, our dogs loved it an my son loved all the garden to run around an play football, beaches not far a lots of lovely tearooms we absolutely loved our week here didn't want to go home can't wait to go back.

The house is beautiful and the views are amazing I am trying to book for next year Agust 14 to 21 cent wait to come back.

We have stayed here numerous times so we knew what we were getting before we went.

We always enjoy our Welsh May break but this holiday exceeded all our expectations.

The home is ideally placed for our visits to Newborough Beach and a perfect place to return to. The features in the house are carefully selected to give a feeling of setting back in time but the mod cons keep everything comfortable. We have already looked into booking for next year.

Fantastic location ten minutes from Newborough Beach.

All other destinations are easily accessible. The view from the house is fabulous. The house is ideal for a family. We had in our party, four adults and two small children. The accommodation has that olde world charm about it. The wood burner with a plentiful supply of logs was great for the colder evenings. The garden is a great place to sit or play. One small minus. No passes for Newborough Forest. All in all a fantastic holiday retreat. I will definitely be booking again.

Our first time staying at Perth Hwfa and we felt at home as soon as we arrived, within a day had booked again for next year as we were so impressed.

It was a pleasure to arrive to such a spacious and very clean and comfortable home and many thanks to Rhiann the housekeeper. The peace and quiet we needed we had in abundance and cannot wait to return.

We loved this pretty cottage in a peaceful setting.

Absolutely idyllic & restful. Would like to return. House was well equipped and clean with all we needed for a restful break. Only criticism- a welcome pint of milk in the fridge would have been nice but luckily there is a shop in Malltreath so no biggie! It was great for us two adults & two older teenagers but i think parents with little kids might get a bit panicy in garden - there is a 2ft drop at front edge into nettles & brambles. Not a problem for us though.

Perth Hwfa is exactly what we want from a holiday.

Great location and lovely surroundings. It is very well equipped with clean towels and bedding and always clean and tidy. We feel at home straight away.

Very homely but some areas lacked in cleanliness which let down the rest of the property.

Bath is very old and stained, plug in basin slimey, cooker was grubby. Boiler was very smelly and we kept the door to the utility shut in order to minimise the smell. Behind settees and up chimney were full of cobwebs and there were bits of games/paper under the furniture. Loved the homely atmosphere. There were mice droppings around the cooker.

A large spacious and beautiful house which suited our needs perfectly.
