“Such a comfortable and homely house, warm and inviting.”

Everything we needed was there and it’s ideally situated for so much of the island to explore. A very special place to stay, we came home after our special two weeks feeling good again!!

The property

Perth Hwfa is a wonderful stone holiday home, in a fabulous, elevated position, its stunning views towards Snowdon and the Llyn Peninsula have inspired many famous artists including Charles Tunnicliffe and Philip Snow and our very own Kyffin Williams.

Perth Hwfa is set within its own 30 acres of land and reached by a private drive, giving you a real sense of "getting away from it all".The land is farmed by a local farmer, so only accessible on the public footpaths Take the three stone steps to the fresh, white front door to enter your home away from home, the hall is light and airy, welcoming you with plenty of space, here you will see the utility room to your right with a washing machine and dryer and a downstairs shower room with loo.

Down a couple of steps to your left you will find the large, comfortable sitting room which has a wood-burning stove, perfect for relaxing around after a walk on the beach, there is a TV with DVD player, an iPod dock and board games.

Accessed either from the sitting room or the hall is a work space which will allow you to read or work, if necessary, in relative peace, broadband WiFi is available. From the sitting room you reach the farmhouse style kitchen, which while it is equipped with a Rayburn, there is also an electric cooker, dishwasher, fridge and a microwave.

The well-loved kitchen table comfortably seats six, with the French doors open out onto the garden, where you can enjoy a morning coffee on the patio. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, all with glorious views.

There is a spacious double with its own balcony, a smaller double bedroom and a twin room.

The upstairs bathroom is light and bright and has a loo, wash basin and a bath with hand-held shower. There is a large garden surrounding the house, with well-established trees a swing and a barbecue.

The perimeter is either walled or hedged and at the front, facing Snowdonia, there is a ha-ha, or sunken ditch to avoid interrupting the view but the garden is not dog-proof.

There is plenty of parking for two or three cars, and a log store. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but downstairs only and not on the furniture please! A much-beloved family home in a very unique and special location.

Walk to the beach, watch the sunrise.

A house with lots of character, charm and comfort. It is only a five-minute walk to the Malltraeth Estuary sands, renowned for their bird-life, and some the best beaches of Anglesey are only 10 minutes by car.

The long stretches of sandy beach and sand dunes at Llandwyn Island are breathtakingly beautiful, ideal for days out and picnics.

The bustling seaside village of Rhosneigr is also 15 minutes' drive away, and here you can find shops, cafes and restaurants as well as a great selection of water sports. Perth Hwfa is a charming, friendly house that has been in the same family since the 1950s.

This spacious holiday house is perfect for groups, or for families with children.

About the location

MALLTRAETH

Newborough 2 miles; Rhosneigr 8 miles.

The small village of Malltraeth lies in the south west corner of Anglesey, at the head of the long inlet formed by the Cefni Estuary and close to the popular Newborough Forest and Warren sand dunes. Malltraeth Pool and the magnificent sweep of marshes and sand dunes, which stretch south to Llanddwyn Island, are all part of a National Nature Reserve. The whole area is renowned for its birdlife and Malltraeth was once home to the famous wildlife artist Charles F Tunnicliffe. There are wonderful forest and coastal walks from the village, which has a pub, a cafe serving afternoon tea and a chip shop (also selling basic items/newspapers etc). Close by are beautiful beaches at Llanddwyn (reputedly the 4th best in Britain), Aberffraw, and Cable Bay, or head to Rhosneigr, which is renowned for its all year round watersports facilities.

Note: Well-behaved dogs are welcome at an additional amount of £20 per dog per week (but downstairs only and not on the furniture please!)
Note: Friday Check-in only
