“There were so may little things.”
It did not spoil the holiday but: In the front room there are just two very soft uncomfortable sofas. Great for the young, but not so great for the not so young, they are far too low, and very hard to get up from, my wife had live in the bed room on the bed. The door to the lounge would not stay shut and had to be wedged closed. The plug in the sink was only 3/4 the size of the plug hole so the sink would not hold water. The amount of separation for recycling is out of this world. Yet there was not enough recycling containers in the building to separate the types, so we brought all our refuse home. There are six chairs around the kitchen table, three of them are trapped against the two walls because the kitchen is far too small to have the table away from the walls and people get to all the chairs. The flapping of something on the roof in the wind was nearly as bad as the time it took to refill the cistern in the main bedroom's bathroom when your trying to get to sleep. The list goes on and on. As I said it did not spoil or holiday but we wouldn't recommend the cottage to someone we liked.
Thank-you for taking the time to provide feedback - we are pleased the points you make did not spoil your holiday. Some comments are provided below which we hope others may find useful: -
There are two large 3-seater (M&S) leather sofas in the lounge which are normal dimensions and height. We recommend anyone with specific requirements checks in advance of booking to ensure the property is suitable for their needs.
The lounge door can be shut and the plug (which we can only assume had been substituted by someone) has been replaced.
There is a recycling system used by Anglesey Borough Council (we agree complex!) which requires separation into different boxes in a trolley. We recommend transporting mixed recycling to the trolley in a bin bag (provided) and sorting this at the trolley. We do also subscribe to a private waste collection service and, as described in the cottage manual, ALL rubbish, including recyclables, can be placed in this bin as the private waste disposal company then carries out sorting.
The space in the kichen / dining area is a little limited, but the dining table can easily be pulled away from the wall to provide comfortable seating for six people as required (as a family of six this has never presented us with an issue).
We have investigated but not found anything flapping on the roof.
Just to add that over the years we have had many satisfied clients including a number of repeat guests, some of whom have been enjoying Menai Cottage since 2010 and are booked in again this year and some who repeat book a couple of years in advance.
