Buck Cottage

Absolutely gorgeous cottage, the views of the sea, sunrises and sunsets are incredible.

The cottage was equipped with everything we needed. Only downside was the changeover cleans need addressing, dirty pans and glasses in the cupboard and a grill not cleaned from the previous guests.

The cottage is in a lovely position and we loved its character however there were certainly some disappointments.

We found the Rayburn to be problematic (as has been reported by others since Nov 2025, it seems the issues still exist). This meant we could not leave it on to warm the radiators while we were out as it kept switching itself off. Consulted caretaker and did as instructed - but sadly no change to the Rayburn. Really think it needs sorting out once and for all. Also we found the garden to be very poorly maintained so when we initially arrived we had to buy some gloves and clear all the nasty (and huge!) sections of brambles that were strewn around from a rough strim job so that our two dogs could use the space safely. Overall it was disappointing to see that more care had not been taken of the garden and furniture within it supposedly for the use of visitors. The table and chairs were covered in bird poo so we needed to clean these before use too What looked like part of a bed frame and old chair occupied part of the space with lots of nettles etc so maybe not child-friendly and the clothes line wasn’t fit for use! Cleanliness seemed to be lacking indoors too with dead flies and cobwebs plentiful so perhaps a deep clean is in need…..Finally someone really needs to do an inspection as we came across two sockets loose in the wall as well as a light fitting hanging in one of the bedrooms over the door, obviously come loose and not maintained. Please also note one of the bannister spindles is loose near the top of stairs as it pops out at times.

Beautiful cottage full of charm, in lovely location but they nerd to sort out the hot water and heating as we had none for most of the days we spent there, I did ring Brian caretaker on second day as we cldnt get any hot water he came and reset it but the next d as y it was the same.

I noted in the visitors book that at least 5 people have had the same problem. It's such a shame the owners are not taking any notice, as it's such a lovely cottage. But hot water and heating is surely a basic requirement,

Our only snag was the raburner getting the heating on at night but was resolved

Lovely cottage in an ideal setting for walking, owner very friendly and on hand with any problems.

We had a problem with the Rayburn when it didn’t fire up in the morning and because it was early March it was cold but we eventually got it going so all good and we had a stove fire at night which was great

Buck Cottage is a wonderful period cottage which is sympathetically furnished and decorated, and situated within the areas we wished to explore.

It’s also well-equipped, though the Rayburn was a daily challenge which was overcome. One can see the Red Wharf Bay from the garden, where the concept of the Landrover was conceived. The beach is fantastic for dog walkers. One of the bedrooms did have a visitor one night - a bat. Luckily it was persuaded to go into the adjoining bedroom, where the window was left open, and by the morning it had found its way out. A few obstacles to block where it possibly gained entrance, and a note to the owner/s was left. Whilst the superficial cleaning was good, the rest was lacking. This wasn’t a Channel 4’s, “Four in the Bed.” The car keys had been misplaced, so literally, not high, but low areas were searched - and these areas were wanting. Items were found which shouldn’t have been there, and if proper housekeeping had been adhered to, they would have been found. (This observation was also written in the visitors’ book). The oven of the Rayburn was caked heavily in grease, so needs a thorough clean. (Forgot to put this in the visitors’ book). The log burner, whilst atmospheric, does seem to depend on the wind direction, as to how efficiently it works. Disappointing. This is only a review, and hopefully these points will be addressed. Overall a fantastic place to stay.

We have just spent 4 nights at this beautiful house.

Old fashioned, quirky, so much character, warm, comfortable and relaxing. Everything you need for a short break. Comfy beds and clean bathrooms. Easy walk to the beach. A dog walkers paradise. Fabulous walks along the coast. Would stay again. Surrounding area stunning.

First of all I must say that the cottage is in a wonderful spot with outstanding views.

Otherwise, I'm left wondering if the other "five star" reviewers have stayed in the same same place as we did. The cottage looks so lovely from the outside but as soon as you step into the place, it's a different story. The smell is the first thing you notice, a very damp unpleasant odour. We tried to mitigate this by keeping all the doors open to try and air the place. We had no hot water all week, despite the immersion heater been on, so had to keep boiling the kettle. The wooden worktop looked so unhygienic, I was loathe to prepare anything on it so we ended up eating out most days or takeaways. The shower was adequate at best, but the bath didn't look very inviting. The grass is kept short, but otherwise the garden is totally overgrown which is such a shame as it must have been a lovely spot before nature took over.

This was our second visit to this wonderful cottage and we were delighted to find it unchanged, it's unbelievably comfortable, well equipped and has stunning views of the coast.

It caters for your every need and offers a restful week in it's glorious surroundings. We love it here and so do our dogs who can play an a beautiful, yet safe environment. We love it so much we want to visit again next year!

Lovely, entirely rustic cottage in a fantastic bay, it was an ideal spot for us and our 3 dogs.

A relatively short walk to a huge bay and untouched beach, we took full advantage of the walks and local amenities. Loved the Rampart ale at the Ship Inn and the food at the Boat House was so good we ate there twice.

We had a lovely stay at Buck Cottage.

We loved the decor and antique furniture. The location couldn’t be better, a lovely walk to the beach and sea views from the garden. We loved sitting out on the patio with our morning coffees. The only minor negatives for us, there are no locks on either bathroom doors meaning having to tell everyone where we were going just in case. The stairs feel very unsafe- I’m 31, fit and able and even I felt incredibly unsafe coming down the first couple of steps. The main issue was the lack of hot water, we tried everything to get the Rayburn to work, we ended up boiling kettles to wash up. We were lucky to be visiting when the weather was good so it didn’t feel like a huge big deal, but for a holiday let, it should just work. We thought about calling the number in the book and have someone look at it, but we didn’t want to have to mess around with that kind of thing on holiday. That being said, the pros more than outweighed the cons and it really is a very special little cottage. I’ve never felt so relaxed in a holiday cottage! Thank you

Comfortable, quirky cottage with wonderful views of Red Wharfe Bay, We came here 4 years ago and not much has changed except new furniture in the lovely garden, Unfortunately we had to cut our visit short when hubby took a tumble down the stairs, Just a cautionary word although the stairs aren't over steep the top steps are on a corner so are small and triangular and the handrail doesn't start until you have negotiated those steps.

Fortunately the weather was vey mild so heating was generally unnecessary as trying to get the Rayburn working was a hopeless task.

Despite my best efforts it only worked on one of the evenings. Had it been any cooler then I would have called the caretaker but this should not be necessary. Others have commented that they experienced similar problems and the instructions on how to reset the Rayburn are ambiguous to say the least. Apart from that the cottage was fine.

Hi, the cottage was quaint and in a lovely location, however as per previous guests comments, we had problems trying to get any radiators to work at all and the back bedroom (furthest from the kitchen) was freezing cold (even with electric heater on for a few hours upstairs to heat the upper floors).

Additionally it appears that there are mice in the kitchen (didn’t notice until we were packing), as they had eaten through a hessian shopping bag and into our dogs food that was sealed in plastic bags

I have written Email of complaint to customer service I realise this cottage is 300yrs old This doesn’t excuse it from having a standard to let Not suitable for disability with many trip hazards this should have been highlighted Dust dirty kitchen cabinets inside everything had to be washed and you couldn’t put in cupboards after washing dirty knives in block?

Bathroom dirty cabinet not useable shower over bath unsafe and useless Stairs safety hazard Heating didn’t work only Rayburn Garden unkempt Too much to list not a standard I would expect from Sykes

Loved Buck cottage, very quirky and different!

!! Loved the decor and it totally suited a 300 year old cottage. The beds were comfy as well as sofa and chairs. Easy walk to Red Wharf Bay.!!! Anglesey has so many lovely beaches to visit. Pure Doggy heaven !!!!

We stayed in Buck Cottage over Christmas and we had a Wonderful time.

We found the cottage to be lovely and warm and exactly as described. It has a welcoming and homely feel which made our Christmas perfect. The cottage was well stocked with everything we needed. Due to the cottages rustic feel we were able to fully relax, especially as we had our two dogs with us, we felt the garden was fully secure and had lots of space. The views really are stunning! The location was also perfect for us, it has the beach, shops and a pub all within walking distance. We would definitely book again!

Everything was perfect apart from the confusing instructions written in the 'About your stay' book regarding the heating turning itself off.

It was soon sorted following a phone call to the caretaker. I did leave a note about this in the guest book, as it is a very easy fix.

What a lovely place to stay,so relaxing and didn't feel i had to stress about the dogs being with us.

Lovely location, but just thought the place could do with a good clean.

Garden as described was enclosed but fairly low wall/ hedge which our big dogs could easily have jumped. Despite a few minor issues we had a lovely stay.

What an absolute gem of a cottage.

The location, the views! Loved the quirkiness of the cottage. It was so lovely and warm. The neighbours were all lovely and made us feel very welcome. We really enjoyed our holiday.

We loved being at the cottage, it provides a huge amount of indoor space, it’s a step back in time, quirky, cosy place to be.

We loved sitting outside early in the mornings with our cup of tea looking over the fields and onto the beach, while our 3 dogs explored the garden. The cottage is minutes away from the beach which was perfect for our 3 collies. The owner was lovely and very helpful.

It is a beautiful cottage in a good location and had warm and homely feel with some lovely features and facilities We were a party of 5 ladies and while double rooms always are a bit of a challenge, the rooms in Buck Cottage were big enough and great for putting up a camping bed in each.

We had 3 dogs with us and the outside was secure and made it easy to be outside with them and supervise our dogs. A few things of concern: While we fully understand it was the end of the summer season: It could have done with a bit of a good fettle The start of hand rail, at the top of the stairs is quite low down and we had to support one of our older party with this, as she was concerned she might fall. Perhaps this could be mentioned in the information or the hand rail be ajusted a bit. More information in the Cottage book about how to work the TV and especially the heating would be good please. However regarding the heating we contacted the number provided and although this was very helpful, we were not sure about how to manage and to turn it off Before we went I communicated that we needed to take 2 cars with us, and asked for advice about this before we went, but didn't get any communication regarding it until a few days into our holiday. We did find a way to sort this ourselves but it was a bit stressful to start with.

Lovely cottage very comfortable and warm, Had all the amenities.

Lovely setup outside . Car park is tight but manageable. Easy instructions on who to contact etc Can’t fault it. We will be back again .

Amazing views , dedicated parking, secure garden for the dog, really good WiFi. Everything we needed. Owner was super helpful and even bought us some extra logs. 10/10 break

We were delighted with this wonderful old cottage.

It was really comfortable, extremely well equipped and obviously well cared for. You wanted for nothing. The garden was glorious and safe for the dogs to explore. It also provided the most beautiful views of the bay for us to enjoy. We loved it here and found it hard to leave. The locals were kind and friendly too. All in all this is definitely somewhere we want come back to.

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Buck Cottage.

Lovely view across the fields down to Red Wharf Bay particularly from the summer room and also from the patio. A one mile run down the road to the beach or a footpath accessed from Pentraeth. Comfortable sofas. Some of us liked the firm beds; I would have preferred a mattress topper. We tried the immersion heater the first morning to heat up the water but it did not seem to work, however by various tweakings of the Rayburn we got hot water. Good sized bath, and electric shower worked well too. We were blessed by the first heatwave of the year - temperature on Anglesey was just right! Would love to stay in the winter and light the fire! Bottom line: we would stay again!!

Could have done with a good cleaning quite dusty . Beds and bedlinen great very firm beds . Lots of character to the place . No hot water for 2 days but fixed efficiently . Would stay again .

Cottage with a lot of character

There were issues with the heating/boiler.

When we arrived, on the hottest day of the year so far, the heating was on full blast in every room, the place was unbearably hot. No problem turned off the heating as per the instructions. The heating would then not turn back on. So tried to contact the maintenance person as per the instructions. No response. Left a message, no call back. Just as well the weather was warm really. Lovely cottage, nice views, road was a lot busier than expected, but that's not the fault of the cottage. Cleaners could do with stepping up a notch, as people before us had left messages in the very thick dust in the fireplace areas! However clean where it matters.

We had a fabulous stay.

The cottage was warm, clean and very well presented. Fresh flowers were unexpected but appreciated. The cottage is exceptionally well located with a short 10 minute country walk to the beach, which can be seen from the sun room at the end of the house. We couldn’t have asked for more and already looking at booking for later in the year. If there was 1 downside, it would be the ongoing construction in the garden. I wish we had been forewarned. It did turn the garden into a bit of a building site. No idea what is being built but, if it’s as good as the rest of the cottage, we are going to be in for a treat on our next visit. Overall we were really happy with our holiday cottage and have shared the details with friends and family Thank you all.

Property was warm and had mostly what we needed.

Beds are very hard and bit uncomfortable, at least for us. Garden is not dog proof and as they had lambs right by the fence I was not willing to test if they would go into the field. But overall we enjoyed our stay and would return if the garden was secure as made it difficult with 3 meduim sized dogs. They do have a small paved front area that was secure and would be fine foe smaller dogs.

It’s a beautiful home lovely views , on entering it was freezing cold tbh , we struggled to find boiler which was the cooker !

It was damp and very cold and we sat in our coats tbh , it was an extremely cold day as well , my bedroom at front smelt of damp very noticeable tbh , and I had to open window to let air circulate in . The fire was a struggle and didn’t stay lit no matter what we did to it . It would be wonderful in summer and a beautiful home , we stayed 1 night as we were too cold tbh and came home early .

We had a lovely restful stay, in great location, we will definitely come again.

Absolutely surprised at this cottage. Full of original characters and very old. Stunning building with history. The cottage had everything in kitchen and throughout. Bath/ toilet had everything provided. We packed winter clothes but cottage so warm we were in shorts all stay. Log fire is beautiful. We wouldn’t of been warmer if we were in hell but this cottage was heaven. Stunning views of sea and beach 5mins away. Great pub and takeaways near by and fuel station had a general store better than most supermarkets. Parking adequate. Grounds are secure for dogs. Please keep it clean from your dogs as we did. If you want spotless, tidy, modern then go to hell on earth like a travel lodge or premier inn. If you want old and fascinating come to Buck cottage. See you again definitely. Dr Gary & Louise.

We booked 3 nights at Buck Cottage and having read the Marmite reviews on here I was nervous about what we’d find.

We arrived to a warm and cosy cottage that is beautifully finished with an eclectic mix of furniture and gorgeous bedding, cushions and throws. Yes, there are some cobwebs and dust so not for you if you like everything immaculate but we felt able to relax with our 2 dogs and enjoy the amazing view over Red Wharf Bay and the nature on our doorstep. Just the escape we were looking for Thankyou.

Kitchen sink taps, took us a while to work out that left was cold and right hot.

No idea what the sky t.v. clicker was for, or why we could not get live channels other than by app. Instructions may have been useful. Put bins out on Wednesday night, bin men came Friday and did not empty bins. The French doors were not secure when we arrived and then we realised why. Overall a lovely cottage.

There is quirkyness about the property but the problem of no hot water for washing up and hands.

After relighting Rayburn it made no difference had to boil kettle to washup, immersion heater did not work. kitchen smelt of oil and when sitting outside. The kitchen wood tops did not look well maintained and need refurbishing. No cupboard space for storage. The wood burner area had not been cleaned, with empty wood bags, dust everywhere. The steps leading from lounge to kitchen had a slip mat which did not work and felt dangerous. The shower was difficult as situated at opposite end to taps and had to stand right near end of bath where it curves up, very uncomfortable. Steps down to back garden very precarious stepping onto one small loose slap built upon lower slabs that were also loose. The garden was wild but not with flowers, it was overgrown mess with stinging nettles, ivy and weeds. One side of parking area had stinging nettles and overgrown bushes made it very hard getting in and out of vehicle without getting stung drivers side. The property has been let down by not giving enough TLC and upgrades within keeping it in with age of property. We left a day earlier, we would have left sooner except for our love of Anglesey, where we have rented numerous cottages in the past but this is the worst one ever. The pictures of property on website were deceptive. The only plus was the view. Mick and Linda

We loved this cottage!

Lots of cosy spaces and views. Perfect little quiet spot and plenty of wildlife. Walk to beach was lovely and fresh about 20 minutes down a country lane. Pub with great facilities and takeaway pizza 5 minutes walk. This is a traditional cottage ok so a few cobwebs etc but bed linens and towels were fresh cottons. My 3 teens loved it here and we would definitely recommend. Tesco also delivers here which was fantastic, we had problems with the hot water but owner had a maintenance person round in hours to fix so no problem there. Good sized fridge, freezer and microwave. Also 2 ovens in case you haven’t used a Rayburn before. Natural garden to sit in. Thank you

Charming period cottage!

Really enjoyed our stay at Buck Cottage, property was clean, comfortable, has stunning views at the rear and had all the facilities we needed. Fantastic location, the beach just a mile down the road is gorgeous. Would definitely recommend to others and would happily stay here again.

We did not enjoy our stay and left a day early.

The place is filthy. Back room stinks of dog Lee. There was dog poo all over the back garden which I picked up We had no hot water the whole time, we did what paperwork said and still nothing We were cold at night. Far too many negative things about this cottage which is a shame as the location is good Sykes were very helpful and came out as soon as we rang them to assess the situation. This place should not be listed. The pictures are very different to what is it actually like. We won’t be back

Buck Cottage is a little gem of a property so quirky and cosy.

It is exactly what you would expect from a 300 year old property and in a great peaceful location. Lovely fresh flowers in the rooms which is a lovely touch, would definitely stay here again.

This property should not be listed. Everything was untidy filthy grubby..... cow webs, greece, weeds growing inside house. This house needs a deep clean, freshening up and the garden sorting. ABSOLUTE DISGRACE

The list is too extensive

From the moment of avrival, we were in bliss.

we were met by flowers, lamps lit and the heating on. Having 3 dogs does limit where we can go and Buck cottage was perfect. Having tiled floors in the kitchen ment mud could be dealt with and the living room had ample space for 3 dogs beds and the garden was totally secure both front and back. The proximity to the beach made for a lovely daily stroll, even spotting a red squirrel one morning. The beds were comfortable and the heating so efficent we only had to have it on for an hour in the morning and evening and it was so cosy lighting the wood burner after dinner. The towels provided were large and fluffy and every stick of furniture and art on the walls have been lovingly chosen. It really was a home from home and we will definately be coming back again.

Cottage is in a lovely location ,dispite the appalling weather we had a great time.

Though there were issues. Staircase was open and very scary for my elderly mum. Also there were different levels. We loved the quirkiness of the place and would go back.

The cottage was in a great location.

Enjoyed walking to the beach each day with my dog, Willow, who loved the great expanse of sand. I booked the holiday to give my Dad a break after the sad loss of my Mum earlier this year. We both had a lovely time revisiting all the beautiful places on Anglesey. Many thanks Stuart

Lovely quirky cottage.

However, photos very deceptive. We were a party of 2 with 3 dogs and struggled with the size of the kitchen. No storage for own food. Only seating for 4 in sitting room but cottage sleeps 6 Tight parking for one car. Someone needs to look in all the cupboards and replace old worn kitchen ware. Melted spatulas, frying pan that is no longer non stick (mentioned numerous times on reviews) no small kitchen sharp knives. Pillows old and uncomfortable Yes it’s old and full of character but the garden is a let down. Described as Wild. As Gardners ourselves this was once a lovely garden that nettles, ground elder and brambles have been left to dominate. Not wild in the true garden sense. This is a lovely old cottage that needs a little bit of thought regards what people need during their stay. Replacing old and worn items, very small changes needed to make this a wonderful cottage. Would we stay again, yes

We love Buck Cottage!

This is our third stay here, we came for a week's holiday with our dogs. The house is clean and comfortable, the dogs love it too. Nice secure garden, off road parking, right close to the beach, quiet bungalow on a quiet road... What more do you want! We will be booking again for next year :') Thanks for a great stay.

Property was dirty upon using glasses etc had to wash them before use Welsh dresser was full of dust .

Photo if you require it overgrown garden full of nettles. Overgrown driveway so you can’t exit car on passenger side !!! Non existent parking for second car which I did enquire about on booking , didn’t get a reply on that one tried twice !! Now I know why .!! Just generally needs good clean whole property. Needs a good basic frying pan. Definately new roasting tin as non stick came off whilst we were cooking a chicken ! ! Again I left this for the owner to see. Plus photo if you require it .

The location was great, near a lovely beach and walking distance to a good pub for meals.

Views from the cottage were fantastic. The garden was secure for our dogs which was great. Loved the cottage, only negative is the kitchen is much smaller than the photos show. Overall a great place to stay!

The location of the cottage is lovely and very convenient, the local beach is great for dog walking and the woodland is beautiful!

The house itself is very quaint and the history of it is wonderful. I appreciate there is a cottage aesthetic to be maintained but there are some elements that are in need of improvement. The kitchen cupboards don’t close properly and swing open all the time, the selection of knives to use for cooking aren’t sharp and one has been put back by previous guests and was broken so when I tried to use it almost cut me as the blade bent all the way back from the handle. The house itself was very dusty and there were lots of cobwebs which at this time of year is difficult to prevent but easily solved. My dog also had an allergic reaction whilst we were staying at the cottage that the vet in Aran had said was likely to be dust mites, myself and my husband also had a collection of bites on our ankles and feet from our bedroom (the room nearest the bathroom). The cottage is 300 years old and very charming. The decor suits the cottage but some very small improvements and the renewal of some basic kitchen equipment would make it a much more comfortable stay.

This is our third time of staying at Buck Cottage, and its a beautiful place.

Each time I have commented on the cleanliness, but it doesn't seem to make a difference!! It is in need of a deep clean!!

Delightful weekend at Buck Cottage!

Authentic traditional Welsh cottage with lovely old furniture. Lots of lamps giving a cozy feel. Was warm on arrival, beds comfortable- would stay again.

We arrived as autumn felt it had hit the arga was on and lamps were on the cottage immediately felt warm and welcoming we will come back .

We had a wonderful first week at Buck Cottage and we will definitely be returning.

Lovely 300 year old cottage in a fabulous location.

Some drawbacks - the cleanliness took the edge off what should have been a great stay. Kitchen: worktops need replacing (warped and uneven). Upper open shelf needs a good clear out/clean (all containers covered in grease/grime, half-used out-of-date salad dressing etc bottles from previous occupants not disposed of). A bit off-putting. Upstairs: cleaners clearly don’t do any checks (two drawers still had grim sweaty sports clothing left by a previous occupant). Rubbish collection: outside bins full to the brim upon arrival, no information about when they’d be collected, didn’t get emptied until day 13 of my two week stay (6 days after I complained) so we had bags full of recycling piled up.

Upstairs was ok.

Downstairs was very dark with very poor lighting and the floors required a good clean.Could do with brightening up. I would doubt if the kitchen would pass an environmental check.The work tops were full of cracks and dirty,with cobwebs in the corners.Some of the unit doors were hanging off. The natural garden around the cottage was full of weeds and various plastic bags and broken plant pots . Could do with a serious tidy up. Would not recommend this cottage for elderly people or a young family

The cottage was quirky, warm and cosy.

With the cottage being centuries old the windows were quite small so it was rather dark but plenty of lamps gave the cottage a cosy feel. The view was amazing such a treat to wake up to on a morning and the walk down to the beach didn't let the area down. The only downside for me was the open staircase but again bearing in mind the age and structure of the cottage It would be difficult to install a more conventional one.

Really well equipped cottage.

Plenty of room for us and easily able to allow us to have all of our meals there. The building was a little tired and could do with some T.L.C. Great location for exploring the island and a wonderful view across the fields to the bay.

Buck cottage is in a outstanding area of natural beauty with easy access to the rest of anglesey and snowdonia.

The cottage is full of quirky charm and and is beautiful on pictures however we had several issues. The cottage is situated on a junction which gets quite busy at times there is only parking for one car any other vehicles need to be parked on the narrow lane which wasnt ideal. The wifi did not work at all and there is no phone service contacted number given which was an answering machine on several occasions but no one got back to us. The cottage sleeps 6 but only seating for 4 in main lounge area. The Rayburn didnt work even when reset. Overall cleanliness could be improved chairs and cushions were grubby. In the middle bedroom we found a dead bird behind the bedside cabinet which suggests that thorough cleaning isnt taking place. Even with these issues we had a lovely week away and it hasn't put us off returning next year but will be looking for a different cottage.

Perfect cosy cottage about a 15 min walk to Red Wharf Bay. Local shop and garage 5 min walk from the cottage for any bits and pieces you need. I can’t recommend anything as the cottage has it all. Oh on the way down to red wharf bay there is a cottage that sells homemade jams and chutney. Well worth stopping by!

Cottage was wonderful and full of characters no charm.

Being so close to the beach was fantastic and the views were stunning. We were able to access lots of different walks and areas easily, the sign posts were clear and the coastal walks were superb. Our dogs felt very at home and could play happily in the garden. Many thanks for a really successful week exploring Anglesey.

Wonderfully quaint cottage in great location.

Excellent facilities (once we'd figured out how to use the Rayburn, owner was very helpful) Short walk to beach of Red Wharf Bay. Local shop/garage, and pub/restaurant also within walking distance. Would definitely stay there again.

What a lovely place to stay.

Buck Cottage in Anglesey had so much charm and character. It is lovely to find a place to stay that has such a homely feel. Buck Cottage is on our list of places we would use again for a holiday.

Lot of character in the cottage and not too far from anywhere.

Local pub shop and Chinese take away were all very good if you didn't want to travel far.

A lovely appointed and spotlessly clean cottage in a beautiful rural location .

Magnificent views , especially from the "day room " looking towards the beach and sea.. Fabulous location to explore Anglesey ...Oh and a super Chinese takeaway in the village . :)

Buck cottage is lovely and cosy.

We visited at the end of October and the weather was cold, so the log burner was very welcome! Although a little tired in places, the cottage is characterful and clean, with very comfortable beds. Red Wharf Bay is beautiful and there are many more lovely places to visit nearby.

Everything we needed and in a convenient location

Quaint old cottage easy walking distance to the local pub, Chinese take away and spar in the village of Pentreath.

The cottage was perfect, a few minor tweaks and it would be excellent.

The patio doors wouldn't open. The middle bedroom window wouldn't open. The oven needs replacing. There was never any hot water to wash up. The water had a funny taste to it from the tap so we bought bottled water for brews. No can opener. No Hoover. And the seating outside needs updating. Aside from these niggly bits and as well as them I'd still move in tomorrow!!!!!!!! Loved it.

Quirky old cottage which was great to stay in, cosy at night with the log burner on & the views from the back of the property were amazing but the cottage furniture downstairs was very tired & a little ramshackle in some cases also the staircase was loose at the top and not secured in the wall properly!

Overall given it 4 stars as the good outweighed the bad & location is great - pub up the road was brilliant with great food. Loved Anglesey I do think they charge too much for the hire of towels (£32 for 4) !!

loved the cottage , but the garden is not dog secure , and the shower over the bath needs a none slip mat , but lovely for a week .

Gorgeous cottage, bursting with character in a fantastic location with lovely sea views.

The only reason I didn't rate this cottage 5 stars is that the cottage is in need of some maintenance here and there which lets it down. Other than that a perfect cottage.

Lovely cosy cottage, well equipped, and we really felt at home.

A little niggle was the description on Menai rentals they omit to say that to access one of the double rooms you have to go through another double bedroom "with no doors" which was an issue for us, as we had friends staying and they had to stay in the smaller room with a 4'bed!! Also the cleanliness of the cottage furniture was dusty and cobwebs around every room!

It was exactly as described.

Lovely cottage. Great location. If I go back to Anglesey again, which I will, I would definitely book through Manai colttages. Would go back again and most probably will at this cottage.

A few bulbs missing which was a little frustrating and no spares that we could find

Warm and perfect for dogs.

However we felt kitchen needed updating. Also instructions need updating. Only secure area for dogs was outside the front of the cottage.

Always a pleasure to stay at Buck Cottage which is cosy with the log burner, and light and bright when in the room with the views of Red Wharf Bay.

Well equipped throughout and makes for a lovely holiday in our favourite part of Anglesey.
