  • “Frondeg is the best holiday cottage we have stayed in.”

Our expectations were exceeded the moment we opened the door as the bungalow smelt so fresh and clean. It was spotless, warm and so comfortable. We had absolutely everything we could possibly need as Hefin and Einir had gone to so much trouble and given a great deal of thought into making our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We had absolutely everything we could possibly need as Hefin and Einir had gone to so much trouble and given a great deal of thought into making our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Our welcome gifts were thoughtful and meant we didn't need to find shops to get us started and instead relaxed with a cup of tea and slice of Bara Brith. Even Lily our golden retriever had treats! The bungalow is so convenient for exploring Anglesey and Snowdonia. We were at the foot of Snowdon within ten minutes and also did some lovely walks from the door including walking into Bangor and getting the bus back which stops opposite the house. The garden is beautiful, I took my watercolours and could have spent the week painting flowers and scenery. It's also a dog's holiday in itself as Lily loved racing around the field which was all enclosed and made friends with the horses in the adjoining field. Everything is beautifully kept and it was a pleasure to sit in the conservatory and admire the views across the fields, over Bangor and to the sea. Thank you for making our holiday so relaxing and memorable. We look forward to coming back.

About the location

RHIWLAS

Bangor 5 miles; Caernarfon 7 miles.

Rhiwlas is a traditional Welsh village set on the foothills of the Snowdonia Mountain range with its own primary school and within easy access from the A55 Expressway, 4 miles from the city of Bangor with its University and with the famous town of Llanberis just 6 miles away. Llanberis offers excellent places to eat and drink, fabulous shopping, and is dominated by the grandeur of the Snowdon Massif. It is renowned as something of a 'mecca' for walkers and climbers, being the starting point for the ascent of Snowdon, the highest mountain in England and Wales. The ascent can be made either by the Snowdonia Mountain Railway, or on foot along one of the many routes to the summit. Just 7 miles from Llanberis, on the coast, is Caernarfon with its magnificent Castle and town walls and close by are National Trust properties at Penrhyn and Plas Newydd. With Anglesey and the entire North Wales coastline within easy reach, Rhiwlas is an excellent holiday location.
