“The house was super and very spacious for 3 generations to spread out in two sitting rooms.”

Plenty of space for the dining table too. Our bedroom was huge and so was the bed, and very comfy. I also liked having windows on two sides of the bedroom. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and a big cooker. The utility room was very warm because of the boiler and great for drying clothes, so no need for a tumble dryer. Nice to have plenty of bathrooms/toilets. Great for coast-path walks from the house. We had a Sainsbury’s delivery, and the driver managed the gates without any problem ...

The owner, Anna, was very helpful.

The property

This much-loved stone cottage family home in the sought-after village of Rhoscolyn offers the best of both worlds.

You can enjoy the feeling of seclusion surrounded by 360 degree views of the coast and mountains, and walk, swim or paddle from the holiday house to quiet coves, arches & caves, yet you are only a short drive to the popular seaside villages of Trearddur Bay (or walk along the coastal path) and Rhosneigr.

The beautiful beaches at Rhoscolyn and The White Eagle, a popular gastro pub, are a dramatic walk around the headland along the coastal path.

You’ll see both the black and white arches in their full splendour, as well as passing a blow hole, an ancient holy well, unusual and colourful rock formations and if you’re lucky you’ll also see some seals.

Not to mention the spectacular views across the beautiful island of Anglesey and over to Snowdonia, which can also be enjoyed whilst relaxing on the balcony and watching the sun set over the sea.

The location of this home is superb.

The spacious and well equipped modern kitchen has underfloor heating, a range cooker, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave and toaster.

There is a round table with 6 chairs. The large sitting room has big double aspect windows to make the most of the magnificent views, comfy sofas set around an open fire and a TV.

To one side there is a large dining table with seating for 10.

There is also a second sitting room/snug with a sofa and TV. There are 5 bedrooms.

On the ground floor there is a twin bedroom and bathroom with bath and shower over, loo and wash hand basin.

There is also a loo and wash hand basin by the utility room which houses the washing machine. A staircase leads from the snug to a double bedroom and a child's bedroom which has a single bed and a gallery bed above.

The staircase from the main hall leads to a twin bedroom with it's own balcony overlooking the coast, and the spacious master bedroom with a king size bed and ensuite shower room.

There is also a seating area where the views are even more amazing.

The stairs from the hall lead to the family bathroom. There is a lovely garden with direct access to the coastal footpath, and parking for up to 6 cars. To make your stay at Pant Yr Hyman that much more memorable, you can arrange for supply of a hot tub to help you unwind, relax and enjoy the sunset during your stay (£275 per week, subject to availability).

About the location

RHOSCOLYN

Valley 2 miles; Trearddur Bay 3 miles; Holyhead 5 miles.

Located on Holy Island, three miles from Trearddur Bay, Rhoscolyn is a small village with a church and primary school and is the most southerly place on Holy Island. Rhoscolyn also offers an excellent pub on the lane down to the beach, which is renowned for its gastro food, and the beach itself with its slipway, ideal for small dinghies and power boats, is a popular family destination throughout the summer owing to the sheltered cove and gently sloping sands. Also excellent cliff-top walks can be enjoyed and an abundance of wildlife can be seen, often including seals on the headland. Just two miles away is the village of Valley, which has a Post Office, chemist, shops and eating places, plus the nearby resort of Trearddur Bay is situated on the western shore of the island and is truly beautiful with a great sweep of low grassy coastline indented with rocky coves and fine Blue Flag sandy beaches. There are shops, pubs and restaurants in Trearddur Bay itself and nearby Holyhead offers a wider range of amenities, including a very good leisure centre, supermarkets, harbour front, a marina, the world’s second longest breakwater and exciting day trips to Dublin on the ferry. Watersports, bathing, sailing, windsurfing and horse riding are the main activities in the summer months, plus golfers will enjoy the excellent Holyhead 18 hole links golf course, and the area is also a great place for nature lovers with renowned birdwatching at the South Stack Lighthouse RSPB Reserve. An excellent location with plenty to see and do!

Note: Log burner laid in winter months only, any additional logs provided at guests own cost.
Note: The property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £1000
Note: Charging of EVs is not permitted (local charge points available nearby).
