The owners go out of their way to make your stay as good as possible. Their beds are SO comfortable. New kitchen this year. All amenities are within walking distance. I’m expecting to return.

We stayed at Arkoo for four nights in the Easter Holidays.

The property was a home away from home. It was incredibly clean and well presented with all of the amenities that you could ask for during our stay. Our children loved being so close to the beach and despite the slightly chilly conditions we still enjoyed some lovely dinners in the enclosed rear patio. The kids loved the games and puzzles that we found in the chest in the living room. The bedrooms are small but still felt roomy enough for the five of us. The upstairs bathroom is an ingenious design considering it’s made out of a cupboard from the traditional part of the house. Rhosneigr is a lovely little town and often has military aircraft flying overhead from the nearby RAF base. We will definitely be returning.

Arkoo is a lovely property.

I loved all the lamps and all the touches that were in the house which showed that the owners really thought about how they presented their property. It really made a difference having owners who were instantly available to fix any problems. I appreciated that. I have already booked for next year. Thanks to Fiona and Jonathan.

Clean and tidy but had some lovely personal touches which made it feel like a much loved home and not a generic property. Owner was very helpful and approachable but we did not have any problems. All went very smoothly. Would love to return.

We had a lovely break in a very comfortable house.

It was a perfect location being so close to the sea and the village had a good choice of places to eat out at.

Arkoo was in the perfect location with the beach at the end of the road.

The house was very comfortable and well equipped. The dining areas in the conservatory was lovely and light and the courtyard was a suntrap. It was just right for our holiday.

We really enjoyed the property and would visit the area again. Only one downside of our stay was the smell of dogs in the lounge! The property states no pets on the website, but this either isn't the case, or hasn't been abided to. We're not a dog family, so the smell was unpleasant for us and did cause some minor allergies. This aside, we had a very nice stay and appreciate the good comms with the owner. Kind regards, Chris

Brilliant stay with really helpful owners.

Amazing location and well stocked house. Loads of glasses, plates etc which makes life easier. Looking forward to staying again sometime.

We absolutely loved the house!

It was surprisingly so much more spacious than we anticipated and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The location is absolutely perfect and we can’t wait to book another stay.

The cottage was very well equipped and comfortable, has everything we needed and more.

The location was fantastic with the back at the end of the road, worth mentioning that you can see the sea through the main bedroom window whilst reading in bed.

Less than 100m from beach , lots for kids to do .

I have just returned from my holiday at Arkoo and cannot speak highly enough about the property.

It exceeded all expectations and felt like a home not a rental property. Position ideal and due to the amazing weather I am keen to book again for next year and not consider going abroad. Wonderful holiday. Thank you.

We’ve just had a wonderful week at Arlon.

The house is very petty, clean and comfortable with everything you need. Plenty of space to store our things. The beach is just down the road and everything is walking distance. The owner was very helpful and we’d definitely go back.

We have been coming to this property regularly over the past few years.

It's in a great location, just yards from the beach and the Main Street. The property is well maintained, well equipped and has always been spotlessly clean. The owners have always been very accommodating with any requests we have had and we always look forward to seeing all the improvements that have made year on year including a new shower room with underfloor heating.

All amenities Perfect for a family holiday

We were very disappointed with this property.

Whilst we had been advised that the owners were trying to get replacement furniture for the living room (and left a bottle of fizz to compensate) we felt that it did not live up to its advertised features. On arrival the living room furniture looked decidedly tatty and the suite had a distinct musty smell about it. When we tried to air the room it was difficult to get the patio doors open and impossible to open the windows. The room is spacious but needs a serious make over. Of the four bedrooms; the two doubles were cramped and the two singles had no heating. Housekeeping needs to pay attention; there was a considerable amount of dust under one of the double beds and when we had to retrieve the cable for the bedside lamp it came with a string of felt like dust which looked like it had been in residence for some time. The ledges in the bathroom were also covered in a sticky dust like substance. Another major failing at this property; do not turn up with two cars and expect to be able to have off road parking as they claim. There is space for only one medium sized car and parking on the road is difficult at best, even in October, so will probably be chaotic in summer. We booked this property for this October and again next August to bring the kids and grandchildren. On the basis of what we experienced this year we have cancelled next year's booking. Over the years we have stayed in several excellent properties in Rhosneigr but will not be returning to Arkoo.This property has great potential but in its current state is definitely not good value for money.

The location of the property is fantastic being so close to the beach and also in the lovely town of Rhosneigr.

The facilities were good and the property itself was quite large however; the property would benefit from having some money spent on it and the cleaning, especially in a Covid-19 environment should have been better. The mattresses were old and uncomfortable, sagging in places and meaning we were unable to sleep in the same bed. Elsewhere there were signs of damp and the property smelt strongly of it (to the extent that we washed all of our clothes when we returned home even those we didn’t wear). Additionally, the furniture in the lounge was very old and uncomfortable. The settees were heavily worn with rips and worn material and the cushions were worn thin. Cleaning could have been more thorough and when we arrived we had to clean the microwave which had food splashed in it and the cooker. Additionally, there was dust on all picture frames and in the bathroom, there is a small ledge where the plaster meets the tiles and this was full of dust. Overall this didn’t give us the confidence that the property had been cleaned thoroughly and so we spent the first two hours cleaning it ourselves. Overall we enjoyed our holiday and we would return to Arkoo but only if the property had some money spent on it as in our book, a comfortable nights sleep is the minimum you should expect.

We always aim for the last weekend in Oct (clock change) and found this year to be more expensive due to extended half term breaks.

Our family have had a really lovely holiday at Arkoo.

The cottage is homely, welcoming and so close to one of the best beaches for sports activities and children of all ages, not forgetting the four legged vacationers. There's a great holiday feel to the village which offers a variety of eateries and a few designer type shops. All in all a great holiday. Our thanks to hosts Fiona and Jonathan for their helpfulness and for lending us their home. Would certainly return.
