Tan Twr - Chellow Cottage

Lovely stay at Tan Twr Hosts very welcoming and situation of cottage great for touring the area and for the spectacular views from every window, across the straits the mountains.

Noticably quiet with no road noise at all. Would benefit from WiFi extender so connection is all through the house. And a few more mugs, as we seemed to be washing mugs very frequently ! But these are very minor considerations. Fab place and great hosts

We had such an amazing week at Chellow Cottage.

Mike & Hilary are such lovely hosts & go out of their way to ensure everything is perfect for your stay The accommodation & location is stunning with amazing views & lovely walks right on the doorstep. We were lucky to see red squirrels most days just outside in the grounds. The accommodation is stunning & everything you could possibly need is provided with the added bonus of the laundry room. All the rooms were extremely clean & well decorated/ furnished. The location is perfect for exploring the whole of Anglesey & only a few minutes drive to Newborough beach . We will definitely be booking again

This is a lovely open plan cottage with amazing views across countryside, the Menai straits to Snowdonia.

The location is great with so many activities right on the doorstep. The hosts were very friendly and helpful making our holiday superb.

All home comforts are provided and the owners Hilary and Mike were very welcoming and helpful. Set in a lovely location with amazing views over to Caernarfon Castle and the Eyrie National Park and Yr Wydda(Snowdon) the cottage is best placed for visiting all areas of this beautiful island. We were there during the heat wave and because of its big, thick stone walls we were lovely and cool inside during the very hot balmy evenings. Highly recommend x

Heather was the perfect host for our weeks holiday and kept us upto day with the local road closures to the cottage, The cottage is peaceful, warm and homely, parking is just outside the door which is a bonus, Great views from the cottage and lovely walks from the door, Beds are comfy and also the sofas, Well equipped kitchen , All in all we had a lovely holiday and would recommend to friends n family

This was our second stay at Chellow Cottage, and it was just as good this time as the first.

The spacious and comfortable accommodation means everyone can relax in their own space. The location is great for visiting any part of the island, and the mainland, too. I'm sure we'll be back again!

What an amazing place, we walked in and the place was lovely and warm, welcoming and absolutely spotless.

The lay out worked brilliantly for us (2 couples and 2 dogs). It was lovely to see matching crockery, cutlery, glasses etc and beautiful quality furniture, comfy beds and pillows and great showers. The views over towards the snowdonia mountain range was amazing. loads of walks from the doorstep and beautiful beaches. I even said I could live here , thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful let.

Chellow cottage is in a fabulous location.

It has generous rooms and is well equipped and well furnished. The owners have thought of everything you could need. We will certainly return. It is highly recommended.

A lovely warm, clean, welcoming, well equipped cottage. Lots of room for 5 of us (3 adults and 2 children). Fantastic views from the cottage of Eryri Mountains over the sea, green fields with black cows and sheep. We enjoyed quiet early morning walks through the fields and jaunts to beautiful almost empty beaches- sea glass hunting is a must. Lots of interesting places within easy reach to visit for all of us. This was our fourth visit to Tan Twr. Anglesey is our favourite. Thanks again to Hilary and Mike who are both welcoming and helpful.

Tan Twr was a very comfortable, warm, spotlessly clean cottage with everything we needed for our holiday.

The owners were in a house nearby and were helpful without being intrusive. You could see the Menai Strait from the cottage. An ideal base for visiting all of the island.

We love this cottage , we have just returned from a 5th visit and just booked 2 more weeks next year.

The cottage is well equipped and clean and has everything you need for a relaxing week away . We love the location and the views.

Lovely stay.

Lovely deep bath with lots of hot water. View excellent. Facilities were good. Didn’t use kitchen except the kettle but everything you would need is there. Make sure to go shopping before you arrive as the welcome pack was small, very small, very very small . Had a good time and weather extremely kind.

Located on coastal path, so walks to Menai Straits or Newborough very convenient. A quiet countryside location, but pub/shop/chippy only a couple of minutes away. Ideal place for a relaxing break.

Four of us had an amazing week at Chellow Cottage.

The weather helped, but even in less good weather it would be comfortable, spacious and a great base for exploring Anglesey. Our hosts were attentive, but not intrusive, and we are very likely to return. We shall certainly recommend Tan Twr to our friends and family.

Another fabulous family holiday at Tan Twr.

So warm and welcoming and fulfilling all our needs. The fantastic clear view of Eryri more than makes up for our 7hour journey to get there! Fun times pony riding, visits to Foel Farm and Greenwood. Swimming at Abberfraw, sand castles at LLandwyn, sea glass at Porth Trecastell. Shopping in Beaumaris and of course crabbing on the pier. Catching up with old friends. Loved seeing the red squirrels. Thanks again for having us and as always hope to return soon.

We had a fantastic week at Chellow Cottage.

The view from the property over to Caernarfon Castle is amazing. We were lucky enough to see the resident red squirrel a couple of times too! The cottage is very spacious, comfortable, warm and very well equipped, everything you need to self cater properly. Short drive to the fantastic beach at Newborough. We had a relaxing and fun week and highly recommend this property.

Located on coastal path, about a mile from the beach, so good for walking options. Also close to New borough forest and Aberffraw beach.

We had an absolutely fabulous time.

The cottage was lovely and the views spectacular. Wish I lived there! The owner was so friendly and helpful. And Paddy the dog was a star. Definitely recommend this property if you love the piece and quiet.

Lovely hosts, lovely cottage, beautiful scenic view.

An excellent place, beautiful scenery from the patio area, very quiet and peaceful, beautiful well kept grounds.

The cottage is very spacious and everything you need is supplied. I haven't given a 10 for the cleanliness as there were cobwebs on the lights and thick dust on the skirting, everything else was fine. I would say that the lighting in the bedrooms at the rear could do with being brighter, lighting in the bathroom also which was quiet dark despite the spotlights, could be an issue for people with some visual impairment. Would defiantly book this cottage again, the owners are very nice, always helpful and there were Welsh cakes and milk provided when we arrived.

A fabulous property and the owners were so attentive.

A great cottage for 4 adults and our dog. It was very well equipped with lots of space to move around. There was a lovely courtyard garden too with furniture and lovely views out across the Menai Straits. Owners Hilary & Mike were very friendly.

Chellow Cottage is a wonderfully cosy welcoming space with great views of Caernarfon Castle and the surrounding countryside.

It is on the Wales Coastal path and a short drive to Newborough Forest and Beach which has great guided walks. Sadly we didn’t see any red squirrels! The cottage itself is warm and the kitchen well appointed. The laundry with a tumble dryer is an added bonus. The beds are very comfortable and we had no problem sleeping as it’s so peaceful. The spacious living area with a wood burning stove and enormous tv was a lovely area to unwind at the end of a busy day! Hilary and Mike are on hand with help if needed and advice about the local area which they know well. Dogs are welcome and ours loved all the walks and dog friendly businesses nearby. We will definitely book again. Some people may expect a hairdryer if I’m being really picky (I always take my own!)

An excellent property, fitted out with all the comforts of home.

Nice and warm in December. Situation on the coats path is good for walks, with the beach is just 10 mins walk away and Newborough a few mins drive. Only minor point was the lack of a 'normal' welcome pack.

Warm, clean, welcoming, well equipped cottage.

Lots of room for 5 of us. Weather was amazing for end of October. Views of the mountains spectacular with Yr Wyddfa’s peak visible on a number of occasions. Red squirrels scampering around outside the cottage windows. Beautiful early morning walk through the fields and swimming in the sea at almost empty beaches. Enjoyable visits to nearby attractions for the grandchildren. Crabbing is the new hobby! Hope to be back again. Thanks to Hilary and Mike.

Had a very enjoyable weeks stay here.

Three generations, grandparents, daughter, son in law, two small children and two dogs! Accommodation all on ground level which made it easy and plenty of room for children to run about. Grandparents one end with a lovely big bed and en suite and younger ones the other end of building with their own bathroom. Food delivery from Waitrose made catering very easy with lots of cleaning things kindly provided by the owners. Lots of places on the island and nearby to visit, helps if your National Trust members. Anglesey riding stables (my 4 year old grand daughter loved it!), Sea Zoo (ticket valid for 6 days too) and beautiful beaches and castles to visit and enjoy. Can’t recommend enough.

Well placed for a combination of peace and tranquility and access to the rest of Anglesey. Well appointed - nothing missing - a great base in Anglesey.

Wonderful spot.

Peaceful. We were lucky with the weather - warm for May. Enjoyed the fantastic views, having our breakfast on the table outside the house. Good location for access to lots of great beaches, castles etc. Nice walk with the kids from the house over stepping stones to the miniature village. Lovely spacious and comfortable cottage. Only thing it might need is a smarter TV. Would happily return.

Great stay at this excellent location with superb views.

Bird watchers paradise, together with rare Wildlife (red squirrels). Accommodation extremely comfortable, clean and well maintained. Owners on hand at all times should they be required. Nice little touches on arrival - fresh milk in the fridge, welsh cakes and a vase of daffodils on the table! Easily controlled heating should the weather turn cold! Would thoroughly recommend this property for a relaxing peaceful holiday. General Information. Groceries available at Waitrose supermarket at Menai bridge. (roughly 20 minutes drive). If you have a delivery pass, Sainsbury will deliver to this property.

We all loved our half term break at Tan Twr-Chellow Cottage (Four adults and 2 children). Such fantastic views of mountains and sea, green fields, cows, sheep and red squirrels. A lovely warm, clean, well equipped cottage. Not far to walk to the sea on footpaths through countryside. Great open space for all of us to relax and hang out. Terrific location for the fabulous Anglesey beaches we visited, and also the local historic sites. Near lots of attractions for the children too. Hilary, our host, was very welcoming and helpful. Thank you.

We loved the cottage and the wonderful views, nor least the group of red squirrels that visited the garden.

The accommodation was bright and spacious and the surroundings restful and quiet. Hilary and Mike and their lovely dog were very friendly and helpful. We are already planning to go back to this lovely corner of Anglesey.

Excellent cottage that easy to find & with fabulous views over menia toward,s caenarfon/castle & snowdonia mountain range.

Cottage very modern and spotlessly clean with all you need. Field,s/path are next to the cottage for a nice stroll with our dog on a lead every morning & evening. Location could not be faulted with newborough only a short 7 min,s drive away, the cottage owners hilary & mike are very friendly and really helpful. We did not want to leave and would have stayed longer as it was perfect. We Would whole heartedly recommend and hope to return again ourselves. Many thank,s Andrew, donna & lola.

Chellow Cottage was comfortable, well appointed and entirely suitable for our party of four adults and two young children.

We had a memorable holiday and found the location ideal for enjoying the beaches and historic sites of Anglesey and the mainland. Mike and Hilary are splendid hosts and we would love to return sometime in the future. In the meantime, we can thoroughly recommend the cottage to anyone who would enjoy the privacy and peace of the countryside and enviable views of Snowdon.

The cottage owners were exceptionally friendly and concerned at all times that 'all was well'.

The site itself was in an ideal position to visit the many places of interest and the view towards Snowdonia from the cottage were stunning. Very good.

The cottage has everything you need for a relaxing week away. Felt very safe here during the Covid pandemic, the cottage was spotless, clear instructions left by the owner on what to do when we left. the owners were very friendly and let us know to contact them if we needed anything. My new favourite place to stay , we will be booking again.

We had a fabulous time at the cottage and found that the owners had done everything for us to have a safe and happy time during COVID.

The views over to the mountains are fabulous and it provided the perfect base for our adventure holiday in North Wales. Anyone visiting at the moment should be aware that many of the soft furnishings and books etc have had to be removed, so the cottage can be effectively cleaned to keep everyone safe. So keep that in mind, take some books/games with you and you will have a great time. If you want somewhere quiet, where you can get away from the world for a week, book this cottage. We really didn’t want leave and will be back as soon as we can.

Just returned from a week in Chellow Cottage.

It was very reassuring to know the cottage had been double cleaned prior to our arrival and every effort had been made to ensure our safety, including a wall mounted hand sanitiser by the door and guidance for leaving the cottage Covid safe for the next occupants. The cottage itself was open-plan, extremely roomy and with everything we required for a comfortable stay. Outside the cottage was set in striking countryside with a wonderful view of Snowdonia and Caernarfon Castle in the foreground. The owners were friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We hope to visit again very soon. Good communication from Sykes.

Heating system was not working, wasn’t really needed as mild week, but there was times we’d have liked a little boost temp wise.

Covid-19 adjustments are understandable but should be made absolutely clear before arrival. bbq was one thing we planned on being able to use had didn’t have use of. Host was very friendly and helpful. Free access to Newborough beach a real bonus.

Comfortably accommodates six people and perfectly located for Newborough beach and only a short drive to Menai.

The owners are on hand and made us very welcome. Great views of Snowdonia range from the cottage.

Another weeks stay in this cottage, all on a level so suitable for my disabled father.

Plenty of room in this cottage with lovely views over the Snowdonia mountain range. Well equipped so was able to have friends over for dinner in the evening. The cottage is very comfortable and warm so we had no need to light the log burner. We had very good weather for the time of year so was able to wash and hang out our washing to dry. Great treat to have a dishwasher, quicker to relax after meals. The owner of the cottage is close by and is very friendly, she is willing to help you out if there is anything you need, so do not hesitate to ask. We hope to be back to this location again xx

Beautiful, well kept entrance and driveway Great views from the cottage and direct access to the coastal way footpath.

Spacious and comfortable, plenty of logs for the woodburner and fluffy towels. Comfortable beds. Friendly, helpful owner and lovely welcome bottle of wine. External areas for the farmyard area in front of Chellow cottage could do with a general tidy up. Flower pots on the patio itself were pretty though.

The owners, Mike and Hilary, were very welcoming and helpful with their local knowledge.

My only criticism is that the Menai cottage description mentions "Three bedrooms: 1 x super king ensuite (zip/link option can be made up as a twin), 1 x double, Ensuite shower, WC and basin" This is confusing as it says three but then only lists two bedrooms (1 x super king ensuite and 1 x double) I can confirm that there are definitely 3 bedrooms. Also only one bedroom has ensuite facilities! The other two share a fully equipped bathroom.

A first class accommodation with magnificent views over the Menai Straits.

Fully equipped with everything that is required to support your stay. The installed log burner is a bonus helping to further enhance the lounge area already centrally heated. The cottage is sited close to a series of nature walks including the beach at Newborough which makes the stay perfect. The cottage owners are great hosts and provide every support required and make the stay very relaxing.
