We had a pleasant stay at Golgfa, and it was an ideal property for a small family.

Llandudno and Conwy are around 40 minutes away, while Betws-y-Coed is within 30 minutes and is a beautiful town to visit. Overall, we had a nice stay, but there are a few things that need to be addressed. Unfortunately, the property did not appear to have been cleaned thoroughly. There was pet hair on the carpets, along with quite a lot of dust and spider webs. The kitchen tap was also dripping. The lighting in the lounge area was very poor, and we had to use additional lamps, as suggested by the host. This isn’t an ideal solution and the main lighting could be improved. The front gate has no lighting, which made it quite difficult to find the property at night, especially as it was very dark. The back area also needs some maintenance, as the hedges have grown onto the stairs and there are some spiny bushes that could be a safety concern. With some improvements to cleanliness, lighting, and general outdoor maintenance, this could be a much better stay.

Inside, the property was very clean and quite comfortable, with just enough of everything for a family of 4.

I thought the lighting was very poor in the lounge area, and a dripping tap in the kitchen needs to be addressed. Unfortunately, the outside of the property was very disappointing. Parking was a nightmare. I have quite a large car, which was difficult to fit in the parking space. There was no room to open the doors on both sides of the vehicle, so getting children in and out of their car seats was impossible. I felt the back area was neglected and looked dirty. There were briars and nettles to negotiate, and one of the sun umbrellas was ripped and could not be used. We didn't spend any time outside. This was in stark contrast to the cleanliness of the inside.

Comfortable and clean, ideally situated about 3 miles outside of Llanrwst.

The property had everything we needed for a good stay, including comfy beds, a neat little kitchen (well stocked including with a set of sharp knives) and a small, tiered garden that was safe for the dog. The property faced south with some magnificent views, but we kept the blinds closed during the day due to the exceptional heat, however, both bedrooms were gloriously cool, especially the one downstairs. The dog found the downstairs hallway (that was very spacious) the perfect place to sleep as he loved the coolness of it. I found a shady dog walk up in the forest on the outskirts of Llanrwst and came across secluded lakes and woodland areas that you could have sworn were in Lord of the Rings. NB. Meant to let the owners know that the kitchen tap drips really badly, but that wasn’t a criticism just for the owner to note and I always take my own duvet cover and pillow cases so I didn’t use theirs. All in all a lovely place.
