Absolutely beautiful spot and the owner of the cottage, Bob, was very helpful and welcoming.

Any problems were dealt with quickly. A really comfortable cottage. The only thing that I would say is that the kitchen could be better stocked with cups glasses and bowls, et cetera. But I would definitely stay here again.

Exceptional!

We have NEVER stayed in such an idyllic cottage in the UK. We had the pleasure of meeting Bob, the owner, on arrival who filled us in on the locality, history of the accommodation etc. Set quite literally in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by countryside and lots of sheep and cattle! Complete silence. The cottage is fitted out to a very high standard, comfy beds high spec appliances. We visited the beach every day - Tywyn several times, Aberdyfi, Dolgoch Falls and also ventured further afield to Barmouth and also down to Aberystwyth. The only negative was when we had to come home! However we are returning - rebooked for next summer! Thank you to Bob, Tina and everyone who maintains this beautiful holiday home!

Absolutely loved our stay!

! The most beautiful cottage in the most beautiful location. They’ve put such care into the cottage too, couldn’t fault!! The only tiny thing I’d say is the garden is listed as enclosed which is isn’t as it’s open either side, but it really wasn’t an issue once the dogs got used to it! Would 100% stay again & reccomend highly ☺️ thanks!!

Fantastic cottage and in a lovely area and scenery is brilliant.

We only have one negative comment the pillows require replacing. Other than that we had a great time.

The cottage was beautifully furnished and had all the kitchen equipment we needed.

It was in stunning countryside and was so peaceful. The surrounding area has done beautiful beaches and lovely hikes.

Wonderful holiday and didn’t want to leave.

Perfect set-up for both ourselves and two dogs - plenty of outdoor space to run around. Perfect quiet location and property was fully equipped. Weather was up and down but property was lovely and warm. Owner and Tina were available if needed, both knew the area and made good recommendations both locally and further afield. Came home very relaxed and will definitely rebook and recommend.

Ideal location for anything you want to do but the best bit is the peace and surrounding spectacular views.

Our break was to reminisce and visit old haunts and we weren’t disappointed. Much has changed but the beauty is insurmountable especially Tall-y-Lyn. See you again sometime.

This is a lovely property, in a converted barn.

I went with a platonic lady friend, so having two bathrooms was useful as it gave us both privacy. Unfortunately, the weather was poor for our stay so the log-burner was appreciated. Facilities such as the kitchen are adequate for a holiday. The one downside is that it is remote, down a long, single-track road that is difficult to spot initially, so you have to drive everywhere. Please don't book the week I want to go next year!

What a beautiful cottage with stunning views.

Lovely spacious cottage, which was comfortable, clean throughout and had an amazing garden that my little dog, Martha thoroughly enjoyed. My cousin who had previously been with her husband, insisted that we stayed at this cottage and that I met Bob. We also met Tina and the local neighbour and all three were such lovely genuine people. We'll definitely be back, thank you so much and see you next time xx

Amazing property, a lot bigger than we were expecting from the photos.

Very clean, comfortable and homely with everything we needed for a lovely week away. The EV charger was also very welcome. The location was perfect, off the beaten track, but not so far that meant it was inconvenient. Such a beautiful part of the world, the views of Snowdonia from the (large) garden are sublime. With lots of picturesque walks and towns close by to explore. Highly recommended.

This was our 3rd visit ,in 5 years which obviously speaks for itself .

Gorgeous cottage in a beautiful location!

We had a 5 night stay with our two dogs who also loved every minute. The cottage was well equipped, comfortable and very warm. Everything we could have asked for. Hopefully we will return next year to explore more of the area :)

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location with fantastic views of the hills & mountains.

No road noise or street light pollution, beautiful starry nights! My dog Jessie enjoyed the lovely grassed exercise area. A big thanks to Tina for making me a lone guest feel welcome. I shall return in 2026 for a longer stay. I highly recommend a stay this lovely cottage.

After a long drive and feeling rather tired we missed the left turning to the property and ended up going a long way up a very narrow lane unable to turn around for quite some way.

It would have been extremely helpful to have had a sign at the left turn to confirm the way to the cottage. First impressions of the cottage were good. It is very spacious downstairs. The location is beautiful, nestled amongst some spectacular scenery. The upstairs accommodation was OK. Lovely to have an ensuite. The wardrobes were helpful but there weren’t enough hangers. The bedside lights were dreadful and over complicated. However, the absolute worst thing of all were the beds! To be precise, the mattresses. The double bed mattress has no support and the springs are quite literally digging in your back. The single bed mattress was the same. The pillows were terrible. No support at all. Of all the things you need for a restful holiday, comfortable beds and good quality pillows are essential. I am not talking about personal preference for a soft or hard mattress here. These mattresses are finished! There wasn’t a position to lie in that avoided a spring digging in somewhere. The concertina blinds on the velux windows rattle with every gentle breeze, so if like me you like a bit of fresh air in the bedroom you had better bring your earplugs if you want the windows open, even just a little bit. Sleep was difficult because of this. Stiff necks and sore backs at the start of each day. So upsetting. It would have been nice to have a small side table or cupboard in the ensuite to put our wash bags on instead of on the floor. Back downstairs, the kitchen could really do with a nice new set of cooking utensils. There is a large drawer of haphazard items that need updating. Ditto for the bakeware. A couple of extra baking trays are needed. We ate in every night after long days out and cooking wasn’t an easy experience. Shame, because the kitchen was a great size and could so easily be improved. The dishwasher isn’t brilliant the cutlery basket has holes in so the cutlery falls straight through. The front and back doors were very hard to close securely from the inside. It was impossible to use the barn door feature as when the top door was open the bottom door cannot be secured. Both bottom doors need a bolt or latch to stop them from randomly opening. This is an absolute NO! NO! If you have a dog/child that can easily nose/push the door open and be gone without you even realising. The log burner and basket of logs were a nice touch on one of the chillier evenings. The outside garden was a lovely large space for our dog BUT it was not secure as the 5 bar gates to the property did not close, they were propped open and the automatic system was not in operation. This was hugely disappointing for us. An outside light that worked, at the rear of the property would have been very useful. Despite the negative issues we made the best of our stay. However, it could have been so much better with a little more care and attention to what your guests need and expect. We had no real contact with the owners. A small welcome pack, a tiny gesture would have been a lovely touch. The cottage felt rather tired and unloved, much like ourselves after our stay. As a matter of fact, we left one night earlier than planned to get home to our comfortable beds and a much needed good nights sleep. We are very experienced travellers and I’m sorry to say this was not one of the best for us.

Lovely converted Barn, Great facilities, clean and well equipped.

Made for some excellent walks in the local area and the Beach at Tywyn is lovely. Peaceful and my 2 dogs loved the play area at the rear, would definitely go back again. Thanks for a great stay!!

Lovely property, well maintained.

Nice outside seating area. I feel the access road should be mentioned in the description and directions. It is a narrow single farm track with high hedges and only a couple of passing places. We did only meet one other car once coming down when we were going up so we reversed. It is just something to be aware of. We did enjoy our stay, helped by glorious weather!

The property itself and the location were beyond all expectations.

Logs were provided, this was a nice surprise. I only had one minor criticism which was the heating for the hot water meaning that there was only enough hot water for 2 people to shower quickly. So by the time the 3rd person had a shower it was cold and unable to be reheated until the next day. I understand it is an eco solar system water heater and this was why, but this could maybe have been explained beforehand so we knew to shower in the morning instead of the evening. Also the heated flooring in the ensuite was not working and it was extremely cold in there. However none of these reasons would stop me coming back again as it was such a nice property and very comfortable. Also having EV chargers on site was unexpected but extremely appreciated.

Property is beautiful, warm and cosy.

Everything was well presented. On original advert it stated garden was secure however this wasn’t the case as our dog could let around and out the gate. Rooms were spacious and the log burner heated the whole downstairs. Owners were really polite.

It was such a lovely cottage and garden with plenty of room for dogs to explore and us to enjoy.

It was welcoming and so peaceful. House sparrows are adorable. You can hear owls at night too. we saw red kites, a snake (not at the cottage ) Scenery is gorgeous. Wildlife abundant. Most things are on the doorstep that you need. Would encourage other guests to go explore. Would definitely recommend. It was just what we needed from a holiday, our Welsh pronunciation not great but locals were happy to help out. We had some great food too. Dogs were welcomed too. All round fabulous

Beautiful holiday cottage in truly idyllic surroundings.

The view from the garden was breathtaking. Short drive to the dog friendly beach at Tywyn, which our dogs adored. Very quiet, there were many days when we found we had the beach all to ourselves which was great. Very friendly local butcher. Well stocked kitchen. The only drawback/area for improvement we can suggest, mattresses on the beds weren't very comfortable, maybe consider replacing these? Otherwise, 5 stars, 10 out 10, would definately recommend to others

This was a wonderful weekend away in a beautiful part of the World.

From the outset the booking process was easy and the email we received with directions and details of how to access the cottage were also very clear. The cottage itself was stunning and has been refurbished to a very high standard, whilst keeping the wonderful original elements. It was incredibly quiet in the complex and we saw one person once all weekend. Our two teens and pooch also enjoyed the space and wonderful walks. It was very rural but within easy reach of Bryncrug and Tywyn, which for us as visiting relatives in Tywyn made it most convenient. We will definitely be returning!

Location was just beautiful, exactly what we wanted. Cottage is as described, comfortable and cosy. Would definitely stay again. Diolch.

Lovely cottage with lots of space and fantastic views.

It's situated along a single track dead end road so it's very quiet there but only a mile to Bryncrug and 7 minutes drive to Tywyn so not so remote as to be isolated. Booking through Skykes was not to my liking as it was all done online with no personal human contact at any point. The only person we did see was the lady who looks after the cottages and that was on our last day 10 minutes before we left to drive home.

A beautiful cottage that genuinely exceeded all expectations.

The situation is idyllic, peaceful and spectacular. The cottage is comfortable and very clean and tidy. I would book to stay here anytime it really is that good . Having spent over 25 years visiting this area this is my favourite cottage and my favourite location.

What a lovely place!

Cosy, clean and comfy. Feels like you are in the middle of nowhere (beautiful part of the world), but minutes to the beach. Garden was huge, the dogs loved it. Would definitely return!

Another enjoyable stay at Bryncrug.

The cottage is peaceful, comfortable and well equipped. The wifi went down during the first evening of our stay but there is a good 4G signal that worked well with our phones. We enjoyed walking on the local beaches and found good woodland walks and waterfall walks in the area. Coed y Drenin woodland waterfall walk was really enjoyable.

Just arrived back home after an amazing holiday.

The cottage exceeded all our expectations. It was lovely and clean and tidy. Very spacious and well maintained. The hosts were both very friendly and welcoming which made us feel at home. We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings.

It was like a home from home! The owners were also friendly. The views and surroundings are just stunning - so peaceful but also not too far from the lovely towns and beach.

A really beautifully decorated cottage in a stunning location, so peaceful and yet a short drive from Tywyn and Aberdovey for the beaches and shops.

The cottage had everything we wanted and the robes and slippers left in each room was a really lovely touch - our boys thought it was great and thought they were on a spa weekend!! The cottage was spotlessly clean and the towels and bedlinen provided. There was plenty of parking available and a lovely shared garden with the cottage next door, with plenty of room for our boys and dog to run around, it was lovely. We will definitely be back for longer next time.

A lovely well-equipped & cosy cottage in a beautiful, peaceful location.

A short drive from civilisation but that was part of it's appeal - a great base for mid-wales generally and the south side of Snowdonia with great estuaries & beaches within a 10 minute drive. Equally perfect for a "do nothing" break in the midst of stunning natural beauty and silence. We will be back for sure.

Lovely cottage.

Clean with most of the usual mod-cons. Could do with a few more bits in the kitchen and some of the roasting dishes were a bit rusty. Other than that no issues. Wifi doesn't really work - would be better to advertise without wifi. Host was really helpful and was very welcoming. A perfect location to access Snowdonia and also the beach. Look forward to retuning.

Yes we had trouble with wasps coming in through the bedroom roof light Friday we were due to leave I was stung 3-45 in early hours we had got rid of number of them earlier.

I think it was expensive.

Covid rules require late arrival and early departure so the first and last days are not really holiday. We understand ours was a late booking in peak time but we felt £800 for effectively three days holiday was expensive. We were also a little surprised not to get some type of welcome pack - most places have some milk, maybe some wine and some biscuits or welshcakes.

Cleaning not the highest standard.

Pillow protectors stained, found an odd slipper under the living room carpet and a plaster under one of the single beds. A delightful location although the accommodation was rather tired.

The cottage had everything to make our stay perfect and hassle free. The owner Bob who lived opposite couldn’t gave done more to ensure we had an enjoy stay and we felt very welcome. The area was lovely for both beach and countryside days out with our two dogs and we would love to come back again!

Will definitely be returning, and 100% recommend a stay at Craig Y Deryn. My family were staying in the cottage next door for the duration of our stay, which is another gorgeous cottage. Everything about this beautiful cottage showed how much the hosts cared about making sure we were comfortable and safe in view of Covid.

The cottage was very relaxing and had it been cold, wood was provided for the log burner. The views were magnificent and it was very peaceful. Beds very comfortable and lots of hot water. Kitchen well equipped. Ideal area for walking.

We had a lovely break away, the cottage is in the beautiful scenic welsh countryside and the owners were very friendly and welcoming.

This converted barn is an absolute gem.

Tucked away on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park it boasts beautiful scenery. The cottage is very warm and cosy and everything you will need for the stay is provided for. Bob and Tina are lovely hosts, and the shared private garden was excellent for our border collie. We will definitely be returning to this excellent accommodation.
