From the moment we got there our short stay was a delight The place was very homely and so simple There was a lovely feeling in the place Suzy the owner was very helpful and left us alone We would highly recommend this place as a very quite get away from city living

We have just had a wonderful stay at Siskin.

We had excellent communication from Suzy before our arrival and she was there when we arrived with the keys etc. We also had a lovely tray of goodies as a welcome pack. The house is in a great position to be used as a base for exploring Snowdonia. The surrounding scenery is stunning and there are lots of beautiful walks close by. The kitchen is really well stocked and we cooked every night with the exception of our last night when we ordered a lovely Chinese from down the road. The Chinese restaurant is part of a lovely hotel 3 minutes walk away. We particularly loved the outside area and the photos do not do it justice. Over all, we had a fabulous stay and would definitely stay again. Thank you Suzy.

Excellent property.

It was a perfect place to stay to explore Wales. Suzie was lovely, made sure we were happy with everything, we felt like we had known her for years, the treats were very generous as was the milk,water, teabags, coffee. I would say one of my favourite cottages. Thank you Suzie for letting us stay.

We had a wonderful time, beautiful location, home from home feel and everything we needed.

A secure garden for our pomeranian, a big bath for my tall husband, treats for all of us on arrival and all facilities you would need was there. Suzy was a great host and clearly knows what makes a warm comfortable place to stay. We had to go a visit the red lion as the food was always really good over many many years. We will see you next year Suzy, already booked, and will be cadair ready!! And Teddy is looking forward to whispering over the fence with Alfie, thank you for everything xxx

Great holiday cottage.

Uncomplicated, comfortable, well-equipped. Dinas Mawddwy is a great base for walking and exploring this quiet corner of snowdonia. Suzanna was friendly, attentive and helpful.

Everything was perfect and as described.

The cottage was immaculate, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Everything we needed was provided. The garden was lovely to sit in and the location is ideal for local walks from the doorstep and wildlife. Suzy was the perfect host.

The hostess was so welcoming and helpful. The cottage was brilliantly located for various sight seeing and walks. It was also situated in a lovely village with a coffee hut, cafe and 2 pubs within an easy walk. We would definitely recommend it.

2 adults and 2 children stayed. Beautiful and clean cottage also very comfortable. Very friendly host and located in a lovely quiet village but with very friendly locals.

The house is beautiful and just how we expected it. The little garden is lovely and Suzy allowed me to carry my bike through the house to be able to safely store it in the back. Suzy is very welcoming, gave us clear instructions how to find it and left some nice treats for us and the dog in the house. Thank you so much for letting us stay. We will hopefully be back but next time for longer!

Super-clean property, Suzy is a really nice host and did everything to help us enjoy our time. The cottage is in a really nice part of the world. Very relaxing, recommended for walking or generally just exploring. Loads of bird life. The narrow spiral staircase to the top floor wouldn't work for everyone (cases, loo trips etc.) Nice, quiet private space to sit at the back. We enjoyed the regular fighter jet activity. Parking was fine. Lovely welcome pack.

To wake up in the morning and sit in the sunshine listening to the birds singing and the sheep in the field behind, was a real treat.

The most warm and cosy - and cleanest cottage you could stay in!

It was perfect for the four of us and our dog over Christmas. Suzie is a wonderful host, creating a warm and comfortable home-from-home with a thoughtful welcome pack. She was very quick to respond to any communication and came straight round with extra pillows when I asked. The cottage was everything we hoped it would be - lovely views and local walks too. We enjoyed exploring the local town on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day we had perfect weather to walk Cader Idris. We hope to be back for another stay! Highly recommended this delightful cottage.

Oh my goodness what a gem this is.

The cottage is as pretty as the picture and more. The decor, eye for detail ,home soft furnishings along with the decorative elements make this cottage so pretty, warm and cozy. Wonderful welcome touches for us and our golden retriever Harry which were very much appreciated. Dinas Mawddry is a wonderful base from which to explore. For our anniversary on Wednesday we went to Barmouth and had fish and chips from The Mermaid

Spectacular local views and a great friendly local pub, the Red Lion (tasty menu 10 minutes walk away).

The property was lovely and well maintained.

The owner is next door and she provided a lovely welcome package of tea/coffee/ milk and even chocolates and wine. She also provided some other basics we had forgotten like washing up liquid / sponges etc. The cottage is in a beautiful location with lovely walks on the doorstep. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Siskin Cottage was a magical wee nook to explore Northern Wales from.

Suzy was there to greet us on arrival and saw us off on departure making us feel right at home. The Cottage itself was comfy and well appointed with everything you need to eat, sleep and chill. Stayed in this little beauty in February 24, loved it that much that we came back 6 weeks later .

Dinas Mawddwy is one of the most beautiful scenic places I’ve ever been to, my 15 year old daughter loves it so we already have our next booking done. Suzy is a lovey host and is very helpful with anything that you need, can’t fault her at all . Well worth the trip just for the views , you won’t find scenery anywhere like here

We didn’t like, WE LOVED IT The scenery was out of this world, the most beautiful area I’ve ever stayed . Suzy was a wonderful hospitable host . Even got looked agybybthe local garage who worked on my car asap even though he was loaded down with work . We loved it that much we have booked it for 6 weeks later . Found my gem of a cottage

It felt like home from home immediately. A spotless, beautiful little cottage, with everything you could ever need. Good local amenities, lovely neighbours. and great walks ... the dog loved it too.

We loved our stay, cottage was warm and clean and the owner was lovely and very helpful, even provided us with gravy for our roast dinner which we forgot to buy at the local shop.

Another fabulous stay at Siskin and we even managed a week of dry weather!

Our third stay and Siskin was once again spotlessly clean with a wonderful welcome pack. A well equipped kitchen, soaps and towels and everything provided for Rupert our Retriever. Suzy always goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome and ensures you have everything you need. Perfectly positioned for some fabulous walks and we were lucky enough to have the odd fly past from the jets on the Mach Loop. Thank you Suzy for another great week and looking forward to our return Spring 2024.

Lovely cottage nicely presented and very cosy.

This is a lovely old cottage, very comfortably decorated and laid out.

The cottage is very well equipped in all areas which is very much appreciated, towels, kitchen utensils, cleaning products, etc which makes it so much easier. The garden is lovely at the back and the chairs at the front are perfect to sit out and chat with passers by or read a book. It is a really peaceful area whilst still being really well located for access to lots of places. I would definitely recommend this cottage (just duck when you go upstairs :-) ).

Another lovely stay in Siskin.

Spotlessly clean, everything you could need during your stay, a very warm welcome from the owner and an excellent welcome pack. The bed is very comfortable and the shower worked well. An ideal location to visit the mountains, lakes and beaches. Our dog loves Aberdovey and Harlech beaches. The hotel along the road, Buckley Arms, is worth a visit, especially if you like Chinese food. The Brigands Inn and the Red Lion are both a short drive away if you don’t want to cook.

Excellently positioned to explore Southern Snowdon. Everything that you could possibly need, including welcome bottle of wine and box of chocolates. Could do with new mattresses and pillows, maybe.

We absolutely loved the cottage, one of the best we have stayed in.

It is immaculately presented, as if you are you first guests ever to stay there. Everything has been thought of. The welcome goodies were a lovely touch. Milk, tea, coffee, sugar, bottle of wine, biscuits and a box of chocolates, just yummy. Whilst there is WiFi it is very intermittent, but we found that a bonus. We actually had a very relaxing, chilled out time away from our normal busy lives. The gorgeous courtyard garden was so nice to sit and relax in the evenings. The cottage is on the Mach Loop (one reason we visited) so you may get low flying aircraft through the valley across the garden. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cottage with us.

A superb cottage, immaculate inside and out.

Our first holiday in 2 and a half years and wanted a change of scenery to relax and unwind with a good book and fabulous walks with our 20 month old retriever. It surpassed our expectations, the surrounding scenery amazing, the cottage perfectly equipped and Suzy very welcoming. Simply beautiful, thank you Suzy :-)

We booked a short break for my partners birthday and Siskin cottage fit the bill.

It has everything you could need and Suzy was nearby to help with anything on request. A highlight of the cottage is the fireplace which was lovely to come back to after we explored one of the many walking routes nearby. Our doggy came with us and she also loved the cottage

The garden was beautifully maintained, the veranda covered seating area was a lovely addition to the cottage and was well used as the weather was so nice. We can’t wait to come back Suzy!

She meets and greets guests with her lovely smile and the most lavish of 'Welcome Packs' [ a misnomer since I thought that she must have, mistakenly, been told that it was my birthday and the 'goodies' were my presents!] The cottage was splendidly equipped, spotlessly clean, cosy and welcoming. We loved the sunny - or shaded - secluded outside spaces and appreciated the two sets of seating provided for individual choice. Suzy bought a new, lower Tog duvet for my use during my stay, as I commented that I had been uncomfortable during the very warm weather. Thank you so much, Suzy, we had a really relaxing and comfortable 5 days in your lovely cottage. Lynne and Stan

We have just got back from a fabulous week at Siskin.

Everything we needed (and more!) was in the cottage and we were very comfortable after exploring the surrounding areas during the day. Suzi couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful and the welcome pack was a delight. Everything was very clean and we felt secure in the knowledge that it was all covid safe. Sitting in the garden eating breakfast, watching the mists roll across the hills is a must. The stairs up to the twin room are a bit difficult to navigate so we kept our suitcase and items we wouldn't need at night in the bathroom. Which was fine as the bathroom has ample space to do this. We enjoyed a lovely sunday dinner takeaway from The Brigands Inn, which we would thoroughly recommend. There was a bit of superficial building work going on during our stay, at the neighbouring property, which caused some slight noise. This did not detract from our fabulous stay and Suzi was very apologetic. Our week away at Siskin was a 70th Birthday present and the birthday boy said it was the best birthday he has ever had! Thank you Siskin and Suzi!

It was a very clean cottage, no worries about the virus.

All the bedding and cutlery etc. was renewed for each new guest coming in. It is ideally situated for a walking holiday. The cottage itself was cosy and warm, the landlady nearby in case of any queries. All in all 10 out of 10, Suzanne and we hope to stay again.

This was truly one of the best cottages we have ever stayed at.

Clean, well equipped and a wonderful welcome package. Our hostess, Suzi was delightful, helpful and happy to chat about the area. Even though we stayed during Covid times ( October) we felt perfectly safe and Suzi completely adhered to regulations

Our return trip to Siskin Cottage, this time staying for 5 days over Christmas.

Suzy had decorated the cottage beautifully for us which made it feel like a real home away from home. Would highly recommend a stay at Siskin, such a great base for exploring the area. Suzy is a great host and so friendly, fortunately for us there were no problems whilst we stayed here but am sure if there had been Suzy would have sorted them swiftly for us. :)

We have stayed at Siskin before and returned using your discount voucher.

This is the first time that we have stayed in the same cottage twice. Immediately we felt relaxed. It was lovely once again.

What a lovely place.

Arrived to find a wonderful welcome pack. Even the dog was treated. We were met by Suzie a lovely lady who let us in then gave us some time to unpack before coming back to tell us about everything then left us alone to enjoy our stay. The cottage is clean, lovely decorated and well kept. There is a folder telling you how everything works along with maps and leaflets of the area and games and DVD's. Kitchen cleaning products are provided along with tea and coffee. Shower gel and hand soap in the bathroom and hair dryer in the bed room. Everyone in the area is very friendly. Rasta made friends with 3 local boarder collies Patch, sketch and flash. If you are a plane enthusiast then you will love it here. They fly directly over the cottage. Or you can take a 5 min drive to the Bwlch. A great location for the mach loop.

Cottage was perfect.

Sykes didn't know much about it when i asked so i spoke to owners directly.

The owner we knew as Susie let us get on with our holiday but was around if needed 'the cottage was quaint and very homely and very peaceful we hope to re visit one day'

We had a wonderful, relaxing holiday.

Suzy made us feel very welcome throughout our stay. The cottage is beautiful, very clean and well equipped and in the ideal location for exploring Wales. The street the cottage is on is quiet and everyone we met was helpful and friendly. A perfect holiday all round!!!

She is lovely.. The cottage is extremely relaxing with a super garden and sitting areas.Fabulous views.We would love to go again .. really well placed for steam train enthusiasts.Welsh lamb pie is a must at the village pub

very cosy very clean, everything you could wish for in a cottage.

.every little thing was there down to bath soak..we cannot fault this location with walks from the door to lovely towns near by. all in all a faultless cottage and owner ..well done everyone...pauline and allan fox pontypridd

The cottage is a charming, cosy retreat.

The property is spotless, the beds are comfortable and we had everything we needed, as did our dog with little luxuries included! Suzie was a perfect host and provided comprehensive information about the cottage and surrounding area in the handbook. She was on hand (next door) but in no way intrusive The location is ideal for walking and taking in the stunning secnery. For aviation enthusiasts visiting the Mach Loop, Bwlch is on the doorstep! We would highly recommend this property.

We had a lovely stay at Siskin Cottage it was comfortable, clean, cosy and warm we had everything we heeded.

There were more than enough logs for the burner every evening. Susie was very friendly and ensured we had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend the cottage and want to stay there again.
