Wonderful!

Definitely 5 * This was such a lovely property for us to spend our holiday in - 3 adults and 1 dog. It's a beautifully renovated, very comfortable stone cottage. Everything has been incredibly well thought out, (with basic kitchen and washing /cleaning supplies provided and the bike store room), all finished to a really high standard and well looked after. The welcome pack was so nice. We had lovely weather the whole time and we found it to be the perfect base for a full week of various activities - hiking, biking, castles, slate caverns, zip line and the stunning local beach. Would we come back? Absolutely! Note - it is a narrow entrance off the main road so don't be rushed by other drivers when turning in.

Super lovely property, tasteful decor with lots of attention to detail.

Was great to have hand soap, toilet paper, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets supplied (not sure if the last 2 had been left by previous guests). Felt spacious and luxurious. What would have made it even better would be more fridge space, black out blinds and more hot water for showers (by the end of 6 people, the water temperature was pretty cool). The garden was big and the bbq with a chimney (to stop smoke getting in everyone’s faces) was a great bonus! There is a beautiful beach less than 10 mins drive away. I would definitely recommend this holiday cottage.

Stunning house in lovely location.

Quiet, accessible, enjoy the walk to the beach. Everything on your door step from award winning butchers to castles, many long long very quiet beaches. Go indulge and relax, you deserve it.

Lovely house finished to a very high standard with plenty of refinements.

The integral garage for accommodating mountain bikes was a real treat! Very relaxing and with easy access to some great walks from the house either into the hills or to the beach. A short drive to the mountains or to local towns was effortless. Two village shops and a petrol station made it very convenient for last minute planning.

This is the second time staying in this home from home gorgeous house (third time for a couple in our party).

Absolutely everything you need is provided. All you need is food and refreshments. After a year, there is nothing looking tired. They had a bit of damp on the walls in the kitchen, but with so much rain recently, I am not surprised. I am sure they will fix that as soon as they get a chance. We were blessed with reasonable weather for the time of year. We didn’t get chance to grab a bbq though. This time we travelled elsewhere using the train service and had a break from driving everywhere. The train is approx 15 min walk to the station. But the train only comes every 2 hours, so check the timetable. We did have a little trouble with the fire. It created a lot of smoke in the house. The first night, all the smoke alarms kicked off, so after opening all doors and windows, we settled down again after that heart attack haha. So after that, when we used the fire, we left the door open slightly ajar to allow the ‘draw’ up the chimney. But we still had to put the extractor fan on in the kitchen to eliminate more smoke. That was our only gripe. All in all, again we had a fantastic stay. We hope to return again if we can afford it

I cannot recommend it enough. Tyn Ffynnon is in an idea setting for exploring the west coast and the Snowdonia National Park also with plenty of nice walks from the doorstep. Would we stay again? Without a doubt if we are ever thinking of heading that way.

This is a stunning property which we have visited on 3 occasions and it never disappoints.

The owners have covered every detail in providing a quality place to stay including everything from electric vehicle charge point to a warm dog hose down brush system . The house is clean, warm , highly maintained and a real joy to visit plus the bonus of being just a mile from the beach, perfect.

What a beautiful house. I could easily live here. Really comfortable top quality just perfect. Cleanliness was excellent. Oscar our cockapoo loved the warm water outside tap after coming from the nearby beach. Great enclosure garden. In the village there is a fantastic independent butchers within the Spar shop. This house is great for walking and cycling. We had a wonderful relaxing stay. Definitely recommend.

Beautiful cottage.

Everything was perfect. The decor was amazing. Enclosed garden for dog with lots of water bowls scattered around (even a warm shower tap to wash them). Couldn’t wish for anything better. Yes the entrance way is a bit tight but that doesn’t deter from the property at all. The owners should be proud of the wonderful space they have created.

A very comfortable cottage that has been lovingly renovated to a very high standard.

It was exceptionally clean. The owners provide little extras for both humans and dogs! It has a secluded garden and is very quiet. It is near to local amenities and places to visit. The drive way is a little tight to get into but once in there's plenty of space. Would definitely recommend a stay at Tyn Ffynnon.

Our third visit to Ty Ffynnon and the standards haven't dropped, ideal base for us and the dogs.

What a gorgeous house.

Alls I can say is the pics on the site absolutely don’t do the house any justice at all. It is clear the pics were taken before all the gorgeous and quirky decorations were put up and the kitchen FULLY fitted. We have been in many accommodations to find the kitchen is barely fitted out. There is an abundance of crockery, cutlery, glassware, cooking utensils, even provided cutlery and bowls for the little ones, which was very sweet. The welcome pack in the basket was a treat too. We have had different sized welcome packs in our time. It was lovely to receive locally produced items. We were blessed with the weather and managed to squeeze in a BBQ lunch and even managed to sit out in the beautiful garden before the clouds came over. The local spar just up the road in walking distance is quite well kitted out with an amazing award winning butchers who sells such a beautiful selection of meat. To the point we bought some more meat to take home and enjoy again. There are lovely walks around the area if you don’t want to take car out for a change. The beach is lovely. The walks can be as strenuous as you prefer and some can be wheelchair friendly if you need them. The pub up the road Ysgethin inn was recommended and didn’t disappoint. The staff were all welcoming and very friendly. We called in for a drink or two the first time during a walk, we went back for dinner a few days later. The food is beautiful. We were told the butcher from the Spar goes there for Sunday lunch. That’s where they get their meat from, so that speak volumes in itself. The only two criticisms we had about the house was the extremely tight driveway when you first enter the drive. sensors come into play a lot haha. And it would have been nice to control the heating ourselves. Given the time of year we went, sometimes getting up to 19.5 degrees on a cold morning didn’t cut it with all downstairs being open plan except for the utility room. With that being quite cold, we kept that door shut at all time to try and keep the heat in. We only lit the fire of an evening cos it would have been a waste if we were going out after breakfast. I had to phone the owner who had remote control of the heating, he put it up an extra degree!! All in all, we had a very comfortable stay. The beds were very comfortable (we always take our own pillows so cannot comment). The towels had a lovely scent to them as did the soaps provided at every sink. Oh and while I’m on that subject, it was such a novelty to have all cleaning products, tin foil, cling film etc provided. You both thought of absolutely everything. We noticed you also provided a warm hose to wash away the muddy paws and different height bowls for the pooches in the garden as well as some tennis balls for them to play with. Simply amazing. We would love to come back again.

This was our 3rd stay at Tyn Ffynnon and the house continues to be clean and well maintained by the owners.

We had a great week's break. Lovely log fires to keep us warm and a super enclosed garden. We would totally recommend this property for a holiday in North Wales/

Beautiful cottage in a very nice village.

Dogs enjoyed the stay as well. Local shops are well stocked and only a short walk away. Visited Portmerreiron Aberystwyth and the Mach Loop. Difficult when you leave the driveway as someone parks their car just to be awkward, which makes is difficult to get out onto main road. The cottage is a testament to the owners with the amount of care and thought they've gone to to ensure a good stay.

Everything about this cottage was fabulous. Exceptionally clean, warm and comfortable. Good size rooms. Lovely spacious feel. This was just the break we needed. The owners had thought of everything and gone the extra mile with regards to the small but very generous things like foil, cling film, washing up liquid etc - basic needs but make such a difference. Thank you The warm dog wash was a brilliant idea! We loved sitting in the garden (even in November!) watching the squirrels and woodpeckers. We come to Talybont every year to visit family and have done for the last 20+ years.

I can honestly say this is the nicest cottage we have ever rented. Great location, perfect space inside and out for family and dogs. We will definitely be back!

We completely agree with the previous glowing reviews of Tyn Ffynnon.

It really is an exceptional property and certainly deserves its five star rating. The house has been renovated to a very high quality finish and is a credit to the owner’s obvious hard work and vision. No detail has been ignored. An absolute stroke of genius is the outside warm water dog shower which was a lifesaver on a couple of occasions! We had fabulous week staying here especially as the weather improved considerably for us. This enabled us to get out and about to explore this beautiful part of Wales. It has everything from stunning beaches, mountains, ancient woodlands, waterfalls, heritage steam railways and historic buildings in abundance. We enjoyed visiting many of these but barely scratched the surface. You would need a lifetime! Tyn Ffynnon is the perfect base to do it. Richard the owner checked in with us on arrival to ensure we had everything we needed. The welcome pack was extremely generous and included traditional Welsh produce which left us wanting more. On the subject of food, we can highly recommend the London House Stores/Butcher a few metres away. Excellent award winning sausages and salt marsh Welsh lamb are available here. Also the Food Emporium in Harlech has an amazing and unusual selection of cheeses. For a meal out we can recommend The Victoria Inn in Llanbedr only a few minutes drive away. Dog friendly. We would not hesitate to recommend Tyn Ffynnon as a place to stay and hope to return sometime. Thank you for the privilege of letting us experience it for a week.

A beautiful property.

Renovated so tastefully with lots of thought put into the finishing touches too. Very clean, comfortable and well cared for. In a quiet location but within easy reach of beaches and the Snowdonia National Park. Would highly recommend. The driveway in is a little daunting at first but you do get used to it.

Lovely spacious house, with plenty of room for 6 adults, beautifully furnished with well thought out details in all rooms.

Kitchen well equipped for those that prefer/need to cook whilst away. Garden large and well enclosed keeping pets safe. Thoughtful welcome gifts for both adults and pets alike. Charlie and Chantelle have put a lot of thought into making the holiday experience easier and a home from home including spare toilet rolls, washing up liquid, foil, wraps, soap all things you normally have to remember or go and buy. The dogs are not forgotten either with dog tags with their holiday home details and an outside warm tap to clean them up after a splendid run on the beach. House well located for visits with Barmouth and Harlech about 10/15 mins away and a beach within walking distance through the village. Would recommend to all.

Tyn Ffynnon is a beautiful cottage.

We didn't want for anything and our dog was very happy in the garden. Usually a poor sleeper, I slept like a log. Wish I could bottle its essence!

What a beautiful holiday home - we found it hard to leave.

It's a gorgeous, spacious, well equipped property - with a great kitchen. Really comfy beds and sofas. The main bedroom and en-suite bathroom is fabulous. Property is down a little drive off the road through the village and is quiet and private. 30 minutes walk to the lovely beach; 10 minutes walk to railway station (destinations include Harlech; Porthmadog and Barmouth); 1 minute walk to bus stops (same destinations as trains) and handy little Spar and butcher 2 minutes walk away. I'm sure we'll all return. Thank you.

Perfect property!

Spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Had everything you need and more. Lovely dog friendly garden. Lots of lovely beaches within a 10 minute drive. Totally understand why people want to return and we also hope to return very soon.

This house has retained its feeling of quality since our previous stay 12 months earlier. The owners are doing an incredible job keeping the house spotless. The garden is still very pet friendly and the house has easy access to some lovely beach walks. Highly recommended and we will probably go back again next year as it delivers everything we look for in a holiday rental.

What a fantastic holiday home ,on arrival the first thing that stands out is just how spotless it is, a really great welcome pack was waiting with even something for dog too ,has to be one of the best we have had ,but when you meet Chantal you will see she is truly a lovely lady and going out her way to make your stay is the best is no trouble.

The house is very comfortable and spacious, very private not being overlooked, the garden at the rear is very secure to let the dog run free, the only down side is 2 weeks not long enough .

The cottage is just lovely.

You can see alot of hard work has gone into this property. Its very homely and comfortable. It has all the things that make a holiday an easy and pleasant stay. We had one problem whilst there and it was sorted out at super sonic speed. Richard and Chantal are fab owners and Sykes are lucky to have this house in their portfolio

We spent a week at Tyn Ffynnon, a fabulously renovated property with great attention to detail in every way, it was incredibly clean and the secure garden was ideal for Dexter the Cocker Spaniel.

The location could not have been better we could walk to the beach and we also enjoyed a meal at the Ysgethin Inn which was also within walking distance. We visited Porthmadog, Harlech and Nantcol Waterfalls. Thoroughly recommend this property you will love it 10/10

Fabulous cottage in a perfect location.

The most comfortable and cleanest we have ever stayed in by a country mile! We especially appreciated the homely touches, the comfortable furnishings and the thought that had gone into ensuring it was equipped with everything you could possibly need. There was even a warm dog wash, which we used every day after sandy or dusty walks. So much easier to use than the bowl of water we have to make do with at home. I want one!

Lots of lovely walks and beach nearby. We had seen reports from a previous feedback re the drive, although narrow at the top we had no problems with our Jaguar F pace. So don’t be put off! We were so impressed with all the hard work that went into renovating the cottage. Definitely would go back.

The cottage itself was beyond excellent.

Every possible comfort and convenience was provided. Without doubt the best-appointed cottage we have ever stayed in. Our only issue was with the very narrow and difficult driveway. We both had quite large cars - as families going on holiday often do - and although there was a hint in the FINAL instructions to approach the driveway from one particular direction, we all felt that it would have been helpful in the INITIAL spec to have given some indication of this issue - perhaps even give an actual width measurement. We genuinely felt that if we had had our previous car, a BMW X5, we would not have been able to gain access at all. Our current X3 had millimetres to spare and getting in and out of the driveway was quite a hair-raising experience.

Superb experience from Sykes and the cottage was to a very height standard and very clean.

We’ve stayed three times and have already booked for next year. Well done to the owners for providing a well appointed cottage to a high standard.

Perfect holiday home.

The only thing was that there were no blackout blinds on the bedroom windows which was an issue with the light sunny mornings. Otherwise 10/10

The property was very well equipped and it was lovely to have the welcome pack.

The owners left a thoughtful locally sourced welcome package on arrival. The cottage had everything you could ever need for a self catering holiday and it is furnished to a very high standard - absolutely perfect.

We wished we had booked for longer. The accomodation was wonderful. Spotlessly clean, beautifully presented and with every comfort. We have always booked with the National Trust or the Duchy of Cornwall cottages as they have a set standard but this cottage set a whole new standard. A lovely welcome package on arrival was a lovely touch. Thank you.

Beautiful Cottage in a lovely village location, close to beach, mountains, woodland walks, Cottage has everything to you need for a perfect stay, one of the best we have stayed in.

Tastefully and beautifully furnished property in a lovely location.

After a seven hour drive, with the log burner lit and a chilled glass of wine in hand, 10 minutes after arriving, the house felt like home. We really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate in recommending the cottage. Every detail has been carefully thought out and we would definitely stay here again if we come back to this lovely part of the country.

Beautiful property in a stunning area, we were lucky with the weather being dry and bright so the sight seeing and walks were great.

Tyn Ffynnon is a beautiful holiday rental.

The owners have done an amazing job restoring the house using quality furniture and fittings throughout and creating a superb holiday home. Being there in January meant we could make good use of the log burner and enjoy all that the house had to offer. The garden is very secure and pet friendly. A great location providing easy access to both mountains and beaches with some great walks. One of the nicest holiday rentals we have used.

We had a lovely break in the cottage.

It is a beautiful cottage with a large rear garden which is excellent for dogs as well as people. The area is good for walking and for restaurants/pubs. Nearest beach is a 30 minute stroll and the nearest pub at Tal y Bont is 5 minutes in the car or 30 minutes walk in dry weather. Richard and Chantal really look after the property and nothing is too much trouble. On their recommendation we had an excellent birthday meal at The Castle Cottage in Harlech - not cheap, but really good food with superb friendly service, so well worth it to us.

Beautifully restored and fully equipped. Stormy weather kept us indoors quite a bit but we didn't mind as the house was so lovely.

Great property and the second time we’ve stayed there, and already booked again.

The owners are great and have done the property to a high standard. It is really well located to visit both mid and north wales.

Cottage was lovely and the garden amazing for our dog.

We would recommend to the owners a splash back for the hob as over time the wall may get discoloured and marked. We really appreciated the work that had gone into making the cottage a beautiful home. We especially loved the metal sculptures our favourite being the zebras.

Tyn Ffynnon was an amazing cottage, was hidden away and felt so secluded yet had so much available on the doorstep, shop, cafe, amazing butchers and a short walk to a beautiful Sandy beach which our young dog adored.

The cottage was a home from home, so thoughtfully decorated and furnished for a very welcoming and comfortable stay. The warm water dog wash was a win for our pooch who went straight to it every day. Lots to do and see in the area, very beautiful part of the country, will definitely be going back. Hats off to all the hard work Richard and Chantelle put in to creating such a beautiful cottage.

The cottage has been beautifully renovated to the highest luxury standards & has only just become available for rental since late summer.

The three bedrooms are spacious & two have lovely en-suites & there is a nice separate bathroom. We felt totally relaxed and at home- the cottage is set back from the road down a long drive so is nice & quiet, & there is a good sized garden to relax in. The beach is wonderful & there are some fine walks into the hills behind the village with wonderful views of Cardigan Bay. The location is perfectly placed for day trips to Snowdonia & the Lleyn Peninsula. We highly recommend staying here & the owner Richard was very pleasant & welcoming. Exceptional accommodation.

5* accommodation with attention to detail.

It’s clear to sea the hard labour put in by the owners over 7 yrs renovating this beautiful property. There is great thought into accommodating your dogs too, and a lovely safe enclosed garden. The location is great for Harlech and Barmouth with a local spar just walking distance. This house had everything and made our holiday very special.

Good location for exploring around the local area as we did not want to go far.

There are easy circular walks from the house also. Local shop and butcher which was great to pick up the odd things we needed. The owners have spent a long time restoring and renovating the house to a very high standard, with much attention to details. Comfortable stay and we could not have asked for more.
