“We had a 6 night stay at Tyn Llywn.”

Overall it is a well equipped house. Not suitable for wheelchairs or those he struggle with there mobility. It is an old house that has been renovated with some lovely original features. It is up a steep and very narrow road embedded in the hillside with a slate chipping drive way, room for 3 cars potentially 4. The stream that runs along side the house is beautiful. The house is surrounded by fields and livestock, we had 2 sheep that regularly came into the grounds to feed on the grass ...

The house is surrounded by fields and livestock, we had 2 sheep that regularly came into the grounds to feed on the grass. Overall the house could benefit from a deep clean, I don’t particularly like spiders and there were plenty of those Harvestmen everywhere! The main toilet blocked and the toilet seat in the on suite was loose, however the owner sent a plumber out to sort these issues the next day. We liked the overall location of the house in respect of visiting other areas of North Wales. We had a lovely stay and made some fabulous memories

    - Samantha, August 2025

Hi Sam Thank you for your feed back. July and August is spider season. Cobwebs can appear over night and it is a challenge for our cleaners as our property is in a rural area. A deep clean, which is planned at the end of season, would not help with the spider cobweb challenge. So glad to hear you had a lovely stay. Property Owner

The property

Standing on a seven-acre smallholding in a lovely, rural location is this delightful, stone-built detached farmhouse, Tyn Llwyn.

Set on a wooded hillside, this charming Harlech holiday cottage provides a lovely self-catering accommodation for families and friends.

After a day of fell walking, kick off your walking boots and slump into the sofa, tuning into the TV whilst the crackle of the woodburner puts you at ease.

Move into the kitchen, where you can sit at the dining table and keep the designated chef company whilst they prepare a hearty-meal, assisted by the electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and there’s even a dishwasher to help washing up!

There’s also a handy utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, so you can easily freshen up your wardrobe!

On the first floor you’ll find a family bathroom and four bedrooms one with en-suite shower room and French doors leading into the wonderful garden area.

Make the most of the grounds, with plenty of space for the pooch and children to run, including a seating area with fire pit and along the edge there is a river that is perfect for dipping your toes in on a summer’s day.

From the door there are plenty of walks and cycle trails into the hills, making it a real haven for any outdoor enthusiast.

A short journey away lies Harlech Castle, a medieval fortification built onto a rocky knoll close to the Irish Sea.

Alternatively, spend an afternoon lounging on the Black Rock Sands, perfect for sunbathing and swimming.

Take the short drive to the Italianate village of Portmeirion, designed by Sir Clough Williams Ellis, or you can ride the little steam trains of the Ffestiniog Railway.

Further afield, roughly 50 mins drive away, is the scenic Snowdonia National Park, where you can enjoy adventure at Zip World Ffestiniog.

However you choose to spend your holiday time, look forward to a heart-warming escape at Tyn Llwyn.
