Great place to tour Wales from.

Fairbourne the next village is quirky in a good way has a bar and chippy and shops for local conveniences. And the beach is a handy if you like sea fishing.

We had a lovely few days staying at the barn and the family that we were with who stayed in the 2 cottages had a great holiday too.

Staying in the 3 properties works well for family and friends groups. The properties are in a really pretty setting and we were blessed with good weather so spent warm evenings on the patio area outside the barn. The properties were comfortable and well equipped. There were a couple of maintenance/housekeeping issues which the owner dealt with quickly. If anything to note, a few more hooks and coat hangers on the back of the doors would help in some of the bedrooms where there is no clothes storage space and a vacuum cleaner would help with the cleaning up before leaving. Thank you for our stay.

We have visited this barn on 2 occasions.

Its a lovely property. We took our 2 dogs. The only downside for the dog is is the outside area is not.enclosed and every.time they needed to go out we had to put leads on them which was not ideal. Unfortunately we had awful weather so ee came home early. Unless you have good weather in this.location, there.is.nothing to.do.

We were both wowed when we stepped inside this property.

I wanted to bring to your attention several issues we encountered during our recent stay at Hendoll Barn. • The large oven and grill were not working, which made self-catering quite difficult. • A lot of the crockery was chipped, including the teapot spout, which meant it didn’t pour properly. • There was no mop provided to dry the wet room floor after use, and no vacuum or even a dustpan and brush for basic cleaning during our stay. • We also noticed a lot of cobwebs around the property. • The beds were quite uncomfortable, so we bought a mattress topper — only to find that one was already in place, indicating the existing mattresses and toppers may need reviewing. Overall, we felt these issues fell below the standard we expected for this property, particularly given its advertised quality. We’d appreciate it if you could pass this feedback on to the owner. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

A lovely home.

The wet room of the property is rather smelly .

Would of been nice to have arrived to some teabags as I forgot to take mine . Also would of been very helpful had there been some leaflets and information telling us of local takeaways and opening hours of local shoos etc as the chip shop in the village closes at 7 15 at night and then didn't know how far away it was to the next nearest place

The property, it's facilities, amenities and especially its location could hardly be bettered; we had a delightful stay at Hendoll Barn and would certainly recommend it.

A comfortable and really well equipped barn in a really good location.

Easy walk into Fairbourne. Although just off the main road there is very little traffic noise. Excellently located for exploring the area.

Getting a bit tired.

But generally well appointed. Wet room needed better ventilation. Heating had issues - not that we used it.

The property itself was really lovely, the huge downside for me was the cleanliness.

It was dusty, there were cobwebs on the windows and dead spiders. The bathroom with the shower had a lot of black mould. I had to re-wash plates and cutlery before we could use them and the whole downstairs smelt of dogs. It could be a really wonderful place, it just needs a really good deep clean. The outside and gardens were beautifully kept.

Great location.

Lots of beautiful countryside, walks and beaches to explore. Accommodation was warm and cosy. We especially enjoyed having a log burner.

We found Hendon Barn a fantastic place to stay for the week.

Clean, spacious, warm and comfortable with everything that we needed for the week. Ray was fantastic and lovely, helping us out. The barn was situated perfectly for us as we went mountain biking at Coed Y Brenin, walked across to Barmouth and spent time at the beach. Shops are easy walking distance to pick up whatever you need. Some great places to eat nearby. All in all we had a great time so thank you.

Absolutely stunning cottage, would have liked to have lived there forever

This could be a beautiful barn if there was more attention to detail.

It wasn’t clean! The shower room was mouldy and there was a tonne of hair in the plug hole, there were cobwebs on 2 of the windows in the kitchen, soil or dirt on one of the windowsills and dirt on the floor near the kitchen. We were given one dishwasher tablet for a 7 night stay and only one firelighter for the log burner. Although there was plenty of wood in the basket, I thought one fire lighter was a bit mean. The outside furniture was dirty. No hairdryer. No shower gel. No dishcloth in the kitchen. Overall, a disappointing stay.

Hendoll Barn is warm, comfortable, spacious, well designed and thought through.

We had a great week there. Two good sofas, enough for four or more to sit on but crucially two to lie on! In a place where, in March at any rate, the weather can be wet, great to have a house you actually want to be in. And good to know there is a cheap, readily available car charging point 10 minutes' walk away. Highly recommended.

Great accommodation, very clean, spacious and had everything we needed.

Lovely walk up the back lane to the old slate quarry and Blue Pool with great views over the coast. The train station in just a short drive but we chose to walk across to Barmouth along the train bridge ( also cycle friendly) . Aberdovey just a short drive and a pit stop at Dolgoch Falls for a small circular walk (£2 parking fee) which was enchanting. Barmouth beach is gorgeous and dog friendly during our stay In February. The Barn was perfectly located for us to have a busy but short weekend break. Dolgellau is very pretty and has lovely cafes and a Co-Op. The Snowdonia National Park is stunning and we are planning to tour it more in our Campervan in the Summer. Overall we couldn’t find anything negative it was just what we needed and rejuvenating.

Property was amazing, old barn with modern touches, huge windows, solid wooden furniture.

Beds and sofa bed were very comfortable. Kitchen was equipped with everthing that you could possibly need. Shower room was outstanding. The property was full of charm and beautifully decorated. We took our Christmas tree and some decorations but to our surprise everything was there already! Beautiful location, with a path up a hill just on a side of the property, including a waterfall too

We had a lovely holiday, beds especially so comfy.

Kichen well equipped and overall spacious accommodation. Only Two down sides was the the poor lighting in Kichen area and garden was lovely but not enclosed so made it difficult to enjoy with our dog. I would not recommend accommodation for a dog. Otherwise beautiful location and comfortable stay.

Absolute stunning barn, everything we wanted, spacious, great location, clean, lovely patio for bbq's, dog friendly we thoroughly enjoyed our week at hendoll barn & would definitely return, only one very tiny complaint the towels where very smelly, they smelt fusty so we washed them all.

Very spacious, well looked after property, ideal for adults particularly those seeking walking, cycling and beach related activities , ideal for the dogs with tiled and wood flooring.

Certainly a place I would consider going back to and recommend highly.

Exceptional barn conversion set in a beautiful village. Plenty of parking which some properties are missing that’s why we booked this.(2cars) Nice courtyard and furniture which was private. Comfy beds. Plenty of utensils. Crockery cooking essentials etc even a chiller for our wine. Had a couple of teething issues but was sorted straight away. Disappointed that there was no information pack for walks, train times, emergency doctors/hospital, and days out in area. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely barn conversion with loads of lounge space, and a well equipped kitchen.

Large hall area with sofa and chairs was great when preparing to go out and when coming in- and leave your shoes, coats etc. The outside space was great too with seating overlooking the well maintained flowerbed. We were very lucky with the weather and really enjoyed exploring this lovely area from Hendoll Barn as our comfy base. Diolch yn fawr!

Superb property, excellent location, couldn’t have asked for more.

Great location only a 10 min walk to the beach ( with kids) and just off the A493 road so easy to get to Dolgellau.

The upstairs area with living room/dining space/kitchen is a great space letting in lots of light. Only thing I didn't love is that bathroom fans are loud and can be heard upstairs.

This barn is a perfect place to stay.

It has everything that we needed for our 2 night stay. Would definitely recommend. Thank you

Well furnished, Xmas decorations a bonus. Very minor negative comments would be lack of anywhere to hang wet gear and nowhere to store bikes but overall we had a great time and would certainly recommend it.

Lots of storage space, amazing power shower and even drinks fridge! We loved the location - Fairbourne beach only a 10minute walk and so many other beautiful places to explore nearby. Such a fab holiday destination.

Plenty of space, gorgeous , Warm, the owner had great communication and there was lots to do not so far away.

The property was very clean, spacious and comfortable.

The only slight issue was we thought the kitchen area could have been a little bit better lit. The was one spotlight not working which may have been part of the problem. Overall a great property, and would not hesitate to return.

The barn was absolutely amazing, with great facilities and accommodated everything my partner and I were after.

With local transport links and lovely views and perfect for a cosy night watching a film with the fire on. shall be back next year 100%

We used this accommodation as a base to explore North Wales, including Zip world.

The accommodation was outstanding, with a really nice finish to the old farm building. There is a nice walk from the Farm House to Barmouth (6k) and flat, we caught the train back. Grill house in Fairbourne was nice food. (1k). I would highly recommend this accommodation as it was clean, comfortable and really is worth a visit

Hendoll barn was a fantastic conversion with high attention to detail.

The people who look after the barn had done such an excellent job of making the barn clean and welcoming. They had gone above and beyond in making the barn Christmas. Thank you to all involved.

Very impressive living area upstairs.

1 of the bedrooms downstairs is very small with no wardrobe , only bedside cabinets . Not much information in info pack , no vacuum , broom or mop so we couldn't clean while there . Barn needs a good deep clean , quite a few cobwebs . Great area with plenty to do , especially if you enjoy walking

We stayed at Hendoll Barn for a week in August, what a beautiful house!

Very clean and very comfortable. It was a ten minute walk to the beach, a shop and a lovely local pub and a ten minute train journey to the lovely town of Barmouth. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. Thankyou

Absolutely loved this place, location was superb for walkers and dog owners.

We stayed for two weeks, not sure if we should have had a cleaner after the first week (we did not) as there is no vacuum cleaner in the premises.

Nice clean place easy to find

The accommodation is better than 1st class, we stayed in one of the smaller cottages and we were so pleased we up graded.

The finish and detail to the Barn Conversion is wonderful we will stay again and will recommend it to friends and family.

Great place.

The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed the kids loved it. The owner was easy to contact and very helpful with everything we asked about. There are great walks straight from the door up to the blue lake and beyond! The beach is close and the bar and grill serves good food if you want an evening out. Would definitely recommend this area for quite family time. Negatives A little disappointed there were no gates to keep the dogs safe from the main road and we had no bins for the week as someone supposedly had taken them.

An amazing property that provided a home from home base for exploring the local area

This property is just great.

The quality of Hendoll has been thoughtfully planned throughout the cottage. The location is great for day trips and the 15-20 minute walk to the beach is wonderful. We met many people to talk with along the way. It is quiet and the patio is a sun trap. A walk out the door with my dog took us up to the old slate quarry with a stunning lagoon and views of the beach and Fairbourne. We were content and relaxed.

Hendoll Barn is by far, the best cottage we have stayed at.

Lovingly restored, from the moment you walk in the door you are wowed by the cottage. It has a lovely homely feel and provided ample space for our group - 4 adults and 2 dogs. The location is perfect. Within the Snowdonia National Park you are surrounded by nature, providing stunning walks on your doorstep. Furthermore you are only a 15 minute stroll away from the quaint seaside town on Fairbourne. We cannot recommend this cottage enough and will definitely be back!

The cottage was amazing, really nicely done and much bigger than we were expecting!

The local village was nice enough but we caught it out of season so the narrow gauge railway was closed but there are a couple of general stores and the fish and chip shop was really nice! Barmouth was worth a visit, lovely mix of shops and cafes etc and just the other side of the estuary. We got out to see Harlech castle and Porthmadog heritage railway which was another really nice day. Overall we had a great holiday and hope to return one day to see some of the stuff the two kids were a bit too little for!

Hendoll Barn is a lovely property in a great location.

We had everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing few days. Lots of dog walking on the beach and surrounding areas. Blue Lake was walking distance and great to see. We will definitely return.

My husband and I needed to ‘get away from it all’ and Hendoll Barn at Friog, Fairbourne certainly didn’t disappoint.

The barn is beautiful, well equipped and comfortable. The area is very peaceful and we certainly felt refreshed returning home. Would definitely return when we need to get away from it all again

Fantastic holiday - brilliant location near the beach, the blue lake and easy access to Snowdonia and the mountains.

The barn is absolutely the best place I have ever stayed, the pictures don't do it justice.

It is very tranquil & it was a very relaxing break for the 3 of us there. It was nice to sit out in the enclosed courtyard listening to the nearby stream & the trees. The garden has a lot more flora & fauna than the website pictures show. Rooms & facilities were very comfortable & to a very high standard. The upside down living wasn't a problem to us, though you may have to tip toe around if you have differing sleeping patterns. It was nice that the doors in the bedroom could actually be opened onto the courtyard, so we made use of the patio furniture for morning coffee. The other adult with us enjoyed watching various World cup games on the comfy sofas & found the WiFi more than adequate for browsing. We also ventured out & about. I wish I'd known there was a trekking centre 10 minutes away. We visited Fairbourne beach ( very quiet ) & the Town of Barmouth ( twice ) . Barmouth has a beautiful beach, with a stunning mountain backdrop. Also visited Harlech Castle. We ventured a little further afield & went to Llandudno, about an hour & a half drive. Husband & Son went up to the blue lake behind us, a steep walk but they were impressed. My only niggles would be no pizza tray amongst the very well stocked kitchen ( very minor niggle ) & the fact that I wish I could afford this for 3 weeks in high season, to make the most of the area. Will certainly re-book the Barn & would also consider a shorter break for my Husband & me in one of the smaller cottages. Would love to visit this site in the Autumn.

Barn very nice brilliant location

We can not fault the house or it’s cleanliness and hate giving it any sort of poor review.

The problem is the location, although the litt hamlet it sits in is lovely, the surroundings of Fairbourne are reminiscent of Jaywick on Channel 4! If you are looking for a clean, friendly home, with a view to using it as a base, then it’s great.

Hendon Barn was exactly as advertised.

It is an amazing Barn which is very well appointed and was perfect base for our Holiday in Wales. It was made even more apealing because it is in walking distance of a beach. Definately would like to go back
