“The cottage is spacious and comfortable, nicely decorated and in a great location.”

It is probably the best-equipped cottage we have ever stayed in, it made such a pleasant change to find a kitchen with proper sharp knives, decent cutting boards, good quality pans, lunchboxes, cleaning products and some cooking basics like olive oil, salt, pepper and spices. We appreciated the wine, milk and cake waiting for us on arrival. The beds were very comfortable and it was nice to stay somewhere with a king size bed for a change! The walk down to the beach was short, but steep! Good ...

The walk down to the beach was short, but steep! Good for building leg muscles! We stayed in March so the log burner was very welcome and we used it every evening.

The property

What a lovely family holiday house Rhos Wen is!

Recently refurbished & redecorated from top to bottom, the owners have created a wonderful, light, airy & comfortable home from home (with the squishiest carpets!) for you to enjoy.

On a quiet cul-de-sac in Llanfair, it's less than a five minute drive into the pretty village of Harlech with its' quirky, old fashioned shops, bars, cafes & restaurants, and of course the mighty Harlech castle! "This is the perfect home from home and being just a two minute drive from the pretty village of Harlech and a short ten minute stroll to a beautiful Blue Flag beach - its an ideal holiday retreat!" Rhos Wen is less than a ten minutes walk to the Blue Flag beach with miles and miles of golden sands backed by the glorious dunes.

5 minutes drive in the opposite direction takes you to the stunning village of Llanbedr - a picture postcard village - & Shell Island, then a little further on, Barmouth where you can enjoy a more traditional seaside day out, riding on the donkeys and eating candyfloss!

You'll be hard pushed to fit in all of that the region has to offer...so you might need to come back again!
