Snowdon View

We had a lovely week at Snowden View.

Despite it being January we were snug and warm when we had the wood burner going. The cottage is , indeed, well equipped and had everything we needed. We liked the location a lot, and would certainly be happy to stay here again if we return to the area.

The accommodation was lovely, clean and well equipped.

The view was perfect. I was on my own but I think a family of 4 would find it a little cramped.

We had a wonderful time at Snowdon View.

The cottage was very cute and kept super clean. Even though the cottage is quite small you have the patio and garden as well. The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable which I never say after a holiday!! The views are absolutely beautiful and the cottage is situated near all amenities including the castle. The shower was a bit tricky and didn't seem to give a consistent flow of warm water. The owners were extremely helpful.

Snowdon View is a lovely cottage with stunning views.

It is clean and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped but if you wish there are a number of eateries in in Harlech or nearby. The area has many attractions nearby, such as Harlech Castle (only 400 yards away), the stunning Harlech beach, Shell Island and the lovely Nantcol Valley near Llanbedr. A great location for a superb holiday.

Fantastic cottage and the Cottage's name is very accurate.

Great location for visiting Barmouth, Snowdonia and the Llŷn Peninsula. We were very comfortable and had a great stay.

We enjoyed our stay at Snowdon view, which lives up to its name.

The uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape, coastline and mountain ranges was spectacular. A Decked area at the rear makes the most of the panaramic views, but seasonal reality means it is best enjoyed in warm sunny conditions.The accomodation is cozy, clean and has a comfortable double bed. The bedrooms, bathroom and only WC are up a steepish set of stairs and are a bit on the small side. The castle and Harlech village are 5 mins from the property, but the beach is a good 20 min walk away. Perhaps this area is better suited for those who are physically fit, and keen walkers due to the steep terrain.

The cottage was great, unfortunately we didn't see the view due to the fog and mist but we half expected that given the time of year.

The village is lovely and we particularly enjoyed the silver band playing carols in the "square" on Christmas eve. Fabulous walks in the area, only criticism would be the lack of basic cooking supplies, and the slipperyness of the decking. Perhaps a jetwasher would be good before each person's visit.....but otherwise great.

Fabulous location with stunning views and very convenient for Harlech town for coffee etc. Snowdonia is virtually on the doorstep. Second visit and we will definitely be back. Can we have first refusal if you decide to sell? Highly recommended.

Lovely week with probably the best views we’ve had in a holiday rental property.

The cottage was compact as stated but absolutely fine for the three of us. Very comfortable & the decking & garden was super to sit out in.

We love this little cottage, this was our second visit and we hope that we will be able to return soon.

It’s worth the extremely long haul from Norfolk to Harlech. Evenings on the decking, watching the sunset, with a glass or two, are just so relaxing. Thank you Alison and Mark.

The only thing missing was an iron and possibly ironing board after using the washing machine.

Otherwise the property was super in terms of comfort, cleanliness and location. The view from the lounge was spectacular. Apologies if you have done this but make sure the parking situation is emphasized as it was fun trying to park on such a steep road for the first time

Lovely cottage with superb views from the decked area.

Nice garden furniture to sit on. Property is Quite snug though. 4 adults may struggle with room and lounge really only seats 3. Was cold when we arrived as I don’t think anyone was in the week before us. We had to put heating on and light the log burner (enough wood for 1 fire only - have to buy your own after that). But once the house warmed up it was fine but we did have warm weather also. I did have to clean the worktops in the kitchen as there were cobwebs and crumbs behind the microwave. Same with bread bin. But other than that it was fine and very well equipped. Good wi-fi. Very comfy and clean bed. We took our own towels but one was provided per occupant. There was a tea towel and hand towel in the kitchen. Also a bath mat in the bathroom but it really needs a non slip bath mat in the shower - can be quite slippery. There are no wardrobes at all due to lack of space but I did speak to the owners prior to arriving to confirm and took my own portable hanging rail. There are only hooks on the walls of the bedroom with hangers on there. Lovely to have a parking space right next to the back garden. Overall a lovely place to stay.

Cottage has everything you need. Was also really nice to meet one of the owners who popped in to fix something and see if everything was ok. He gave us some tips for doing things in the local area. Great week, we will be back.

A lovely little cottage in a beautiful location.

Amenities within a minute’s walk just up the (very steep!) hill, but the whole of Snowdonia within easy reach. And a stunning view from the deck too. Highly recommended!!!

The property was clean and comfortable, but quite compact and I would say perfect for a couple but the comments in the visitors book would seem to suggest that it is very popular with families.

The prior posts about the lack of pillows are still valid, we were able to take the ones from the other bedroom. Blessed with fantastic weather we made full use of the deck and it's fabulous views.

We spent one week at Snodow View and had a great time.

The premises offer not much space but it is sufficent for 4 persons. The kitchen is equipped with all you need for daily life. The terrace offers a really stunning view to the mountains nearby.

Had a fantastic week. The owner is friendly and approachable and made sure our stay was a comfortable one. Just one suggestion: maybe allow two pillows per person. We will be back!

Just returned home from a wonderful week of sunshine in Harlech!

The cottage was everything we needed and the location was perfect - pub, shop, the beach and an amazing cheese shop all in walking distance. We really didn’t want to come home! Really lovely and cosy place to stay with amazing views of Snowdonia and the castle. We met the lovely owners and their dog Floyd, who were really helpful with suggestions on the local area. It was our first time to Wales and it did not disappoint!

It's location so close to the castle and on the steepest Street was unique and was also very convenient for exploring Snowdonia. The cottage was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The owner was friendly and approachable giving detailed assistance prior to check -in.

The views from the cottage were amazing and thr children loved being so close to such a historic castle. The only thing I think could be improved is the pillows in main bedroom. Had to fold it over all week to make it thicker. Two pillows each in main bedroom would make it the next level of comfort. Lovely touch with some tea and coffee sachets and biscuits. :) They were opened quickly after a very long drive! Children were sad to come home.

We had a fabulous week in a lovely cosy cottage with magnificent views and a lovely decking area.

Everything was comfortable and very clean. However I think it should be noted in your blurb that the cottage is situated on the 2nd steepest road in the world. We are both nearly 80 and I think if people want to rent this they should be asked about age, fitness etc. before booking. We are both fit and had no trouble walking up the road but there is no way we would have walked down. We would go back there again without hesitation and I can see that it might put some people off but I feel they should be told about the steepness. My husband drove down the hill but I would have had trouble..

Great stay and place to explore Wales. Garden & deck in the sun was a delight. Recomandable for a holiday in Wales.

Hi Love place to stay Would of been nice to have basics available - having to go out and buy toilet rolls, hand soap, and wash up liquid does start a holiday well!

The pillows are so flat and only one each bed - never seen pillows that flat before - extra ones available if needed would be nice Nothing available to clean the fireplace out either

We had a lovely stay at Snowdon View.

It was comfortable and the owners couldn't have been more helpful. It was an ideal base for us to explore the area and, although the weather was variable during the week, there was plenty to do.

Great location (not recommended for anyone struggling on hills), awesome views.

Couldn't be more central. Perhaps needs a little TLC. Recommend a trip to the Old Victoria in nearby Llanbedr for excellent meals.

Tiny but offered everything we needed for our week in Harlech. Beautiful views across the snowden range and the castle plus a fab garden. Can’t fault it, would definitely like to come back here.

The owners have got this one perfect.

Great views of Harlech, the castle and Snowdonia, mixed with a fab garden, plenty of outdoor space and the steepest road in the world! Conquer that and you have a train station with links to plenty of towns, or the amazing beach is just a walk away. Local food in the small village is great, including fresh bread, chinese and indian. The house has everything thought of including for the kids. Children will find guides for walks, games, toys and even some bits for the bath. We had the extras a family needs like kids kitchenware, bubble bath, milk and washing up bits, those things that just make it easy to relax. The house has a good stock of menus, books and leaflets so you can plan your whole week with the free wifi whilst making the most of reading each night. There was even sky and amazon tv! Comfy beds with awesome views. There is a play park close by and plenty to do whatever the weather!

Snowdon View is a lovely small cottage with a fantastic view and central but quiet location in Harlech.

It is located on the steepest hill in the town, possibly the steepest street in the world, so be aware you need to be reasonably able to walk from the cottage even to the town centre. We were surprised no bleach was left to clean the toilet.

Very nice cottage, ideally located with a magnificent view, small but has everything.

We went by train and had enough to do in a week without having a car.

Made better by picking the hottest week of the summer, Snowdon View is what it says on the name sign, with commanding views over the Snowdonia range and within walking distance of one of the best beaches in the area.

Unfortunately for weary children and parents there is not a flat route back to the house in the evening. The facilities are excellent and I would be back again in an instant. My wife, who suffers from vertigo, is not so passionate about the idea, but I am working on it!

Superb stay.

Brilliant location. The cottage was just right for our size family. The kids had a fab time, having the swimming pool close by in Harlech was a real bonus on wetter days. Having said that there are plenty of sheltered walks through beautiful woodland locally, and the sand dunes are all the more atmospheric in the storms!

It was a lovely cottage tucked away beneath Harlech castle with excellent views of the mountains, beach and sea.

The host was most helpful before and during our stay and we would definitely reccomend this listing to friends and family

We had a lovely week's stay in Snowdon View in Harlech.

It is a very cosy little cottage in a fabulous setting. It is on a very steep hill but you do get a beautiful view from the terrace area you can even see the castle from the skylight in the bathroom. Would definitely recommend we had a fab stay cottage is equipped with everything you need for a great holiday.

Cottage was everything we expected and more, the location was perfect for beach days and local trips on the not so sunny days.

The owners could not have been more helpful and gave loads of ideas and tips for the area. We have two small children and the cottage was well set up for families. Nothing could beat the view from the balcony and the garden for the kids. Perfect trip away.

The cottage was perfect for a family of 4. We loved the character of the cottage and the clever storage solutions in each of the rooms. Our hosts recommended some places to visit and we were not disappointed. We would love to come back for another visit!

There was a plumbing problem when we arrived, but the owners' handyman was already on the case and kept rechecking until he was happy it was fully fixed.

The owners were very attentive and apologetic with regard to this. Very refreshing to have such things promptly and closely given attention to. A very comfortable, clean, and well-equipped cottage - definitely more of a home than a holiday let.

My husband and I have just returned from a week at Snowdon View.

The property is in a fabulous location overlooking Harlech, with the Snowdon range of mountains in the distance. We sat every evening on the decking and watched the sun go down - it was magical. Inside it was like home from home - very well equipped and comfortable. The owner has even supplied an extensive supply of books and brochures on the area which we found very useful, especially the books of walks. Will definitely revisit in the future.
