Beautiful cottage in a quiet and secluded area but just a short drive to many local places of interest.

The peace and quiet at the cottage was very welcome. The cottage itself was beautifully and tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean with all the comforts of home. We would definitely recommend to others

Our stay at the property was peaceful and comfortable.

The house was well equipped and immaculately clean. The rooms were beautifully decorated and were adorned with gorgeous furniture and ornamental accessories. It felt welcoming and warm, especially with our box of chocolates gifted by the proprietors. The outdoor gardens were well kept and mature, with a stream running through the garden. It offered a zen feel to the experience when sitting outside reading or enjoying a meal at either of the two seating/eating areas. The elevated location of the property offered extensive views of the mountains and lower lying valleys. We were visited by a common buzzard everyday when it sat on the telegraph pole just off the driveway. The tiny village by the river down the hill has a lovely pub (The Victoria Inn) which offers a good standard of local welsh produce on the menu. There is a small but adequately stocked shop opposite the pub for anything you need from milk, welsh cheese, and postcards to frozen meals. Harlech castle is not too far away and there are some beautiful coastal walks nearby. Shell Island is also worth a visit and Barmouth is close by too. If you want to walk near the house there is a road travelling to the waterfalls which is nice to visit in spring or autumn to get the full benefits. Thank you for letting us stay.

This cottage is truly idyllic and we had a brilliant week here.

It's clean, cosy and nicely furnished, but it's the garden that really has the wow factor. Nestled amongst the hills, all you can hear is the babbling of the stream and the bleating of sheep. Red kites swooped down to greet us in the day and we were awed by shooting stars at night. There are beautiful walks right from your doorstep, particularly down the Nantocal waterfalls, lots to do nearby and the Victoria Inn in the village does great food. Highly recommend!

Beautiful cottage with the most stunning views.

We were left a lovely welcome pack, property was spotless with had everything we needed. So remote and quiet, it was a very relaxing break! Loads to do in the area, the kids had a fantastic time on the gorgeous beach 10-15min drive away. Highly recommend!

Moelfre cottage is a beautiful home to stay in.

It is well furnished and has everything one might need for a lovely self catering holiday. The very rural situation is beautiful with mainly only sheep for company. Our hosts were both helpful and non intrusive. Highly recommended

Moelfre was a lovely cottage, very clean and comfortable.

It is very peaceful and apart from the stream and the songbirds and the odd sheep there is not much else to hear. The steps to get up to the cottage are quite steep so would not be any good for anyone that isn't mobile. We loved the cottage and would be happy to go back. We felt very relaxed there.

Tasteful bed linen in every bedroom-plentiful hot water and very comfortable sofas to relax.The only sounds we heard were the sheep bleating and the cuckoo and other birds singing.A wonderful holiday destination.Thankyou very much Eleri and for the cakes too.

The cottage is clean and well equipped. We loved the nearby walks to the waterfalls and along the river, but also a great base for exploring this part of Wales.

Lovely cottage has everything you need for a week’s breakaway and lots to do near and about.

We booked this cottage because of the location and facilities, and we were not disappointed, on arrival everything was in place as described, the setting was stunning being along a very quite country lane surrounded by lush vegetation and hills.

The owner visited us towards the end on the week, a very polite and nice lady enquiring if all was ok, of which it certainly was.

It has everything you need for a relaxing holiday in comfort. It is very rural but this adds to its charm, its total peace and quite. All you can hear is birdsong and in May Cuckoos. Its a perfect base for exploring all of North Wales too. If you like the proper countryside just GO.

The cottage was as lovely as ever. Peace and quiet, in a wonderful location. The quality of the bedding and beds made for a relaxing week.

Lovely cottage.

Peaceful, relaxing, cosy, comfy and warm to come back to after a day out. High end fixtures and fittings. Eleri, the host, was very welcoming .. brought us delicious homemade cupcakes on our arrival.. and is very knowledgeable about the local area. Moelfre cottage is in a stunning location , surrounded by beautiful countryside. The directions provided were easy to follow and we had no trouble finding the cottage. When you are driving up the lane the first time from the village of Llanbedr, you wonder if you've done the right thing as it seems so remote but you soon realise everything is just on your doorstep or a short drive away. We loved the location and visited Harlech, Barmouth, Portmeirion, Bodnant Gardens etc as well as walking some beautiful trails direct from the cottage door. The Nantcol Riverside Walk on the cottage doorstep is fab. Recommend the delicious Sunday lunch at the Victoria Inn in the village too. We will definitely return... already looking to rebook. A week there wasn't long enough, we still have things we want to do and places to visit.

We had a wonderful 2nd stay at Moelfre cottage.

It's such an amazing place, and very well thought out with all the home comforts needed. Eleri always pops by to make sure everything is OK for us, and the cakes are delicious!! I think the only way this cottage could be made even better would be a small hot tub, so you could enjoy the views, or the stars even more. Will definitely be coming back a third time for sure.

Moelfre Cottage was perfect for exploring the region, although remote, this suited us for a relaxing break, it's a short drive to Llanbedr where we had the best Sunday lunch at The Victoria pub and the beach walk at Dyfryyn Ardudwy was fantastic.

The owner dropped in to make sure we were happy and offered advice on the location. Altogether, our stay was exactly what we expected and I can highly recommend this cottage

The cottage owner is very thoughtful and welcoming. The cottage is remote - which we loved but wouldn't suit everyone. It is on a narrow track - in fabulous countryside with small streams very close to the cottage - absolutely stunning.

Amazing views and plenty to do nearby. The cottage was beautifully furnished, comfortable and clean with everything we needed. We arrived to some delicious homemade cakes as well as milk, juice and eggs. Eleri, the owner, popped by to check everything was ok, which was lovely. The Victoria Inn was very good for Sunday lunch and evening meals, and you can get woodfired pizza at the nearby campsite. You can do a circular walk down to the campsite, along the river and waterfalls and back to the cottage. Good WiFi and phone signal at the cottage! We would definitely recommend Moelfre cottage and hope to return. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The maintenance of the cottage has been excellent. It was a joy to return to. We would have appreciated having coat hooks by the front door. The information pack with the lovely wooden cover would benefit from having new plastic sleeves inside as they are very crumpled. Thank you also for the cullender!

Ideal location for exploring North west wales.

Situated close to fantastic double waterfalls in a very quiet and peaceful location. The facilities at the cottage catered for all our needs and cannot think of anything that would be missing that we have at home. Great places on the doorstep a short car ride away. Portmerion Italian village and estuary, fantastic location. Mount Snowdon and the attractions around the mountain. Harlech and Caernarvon castles also very close. We will definitely be back and have already told our friends and family this is a must visit cottage.

If you are looking for a bit of peace and quiet Moelfre cottage will be perfect for you.

We sat on the patio and all we could hear was the mountain stream and birdsong. The cottage has everything you could possibly need and is comfortable and clean. Plenty of walking opportunities right from the doorstep. We have rented many holiday cottages and this was one of the best. Lovely friendly owner and we highly recommend this property.

Perfect cottage, perfect holiday.

This is an excellent cottage in a very quiet spot, well off the beaten track.

The interior is beautifully presented with modern decor and all the comforts of home. Those who like walking will find that they can walk straight from the front door.

The cottage is superb and the owner lovely. Even brought us a new big casserole dish when I suggested we would find that useful. It is so quite and peaceful there, surrounded by beautiful views.

This was our second visit having stayed for the first time last June and once again we absolutely loved it.

Owners are friendly and location is perfect, a freezer has been a recent addition which made it even better with the supermarkets being quite far away. We were very lucky with the weather this year, was warm and sunny everyday which meant we could make the most of the beach and the waterfalls which I would highly recommend. Already looking at booking a third visit.

Everything lovely and welcome was first class. Plenty to see and do nearby It’s up there with one of the nicest cottages we’ve stayed in. For us it was the location and setting. We would definitely come back here again if we visited wales.

This delightful cottage provided us with the perfect base for walking in the Rhinogs for the week.

It is beautifully positioned with not another house to be seen and the peace and quiet was balm to the soul. The cottage is well equipped, although as it is off the beaten track a freezer would have been an advantage (maybe it could go in the small lean-to with the washing machine?). Be that as it may, I would go back tomorrow like a shot! Moelfre Cottage is a real find.

Lovely welcome with cupcakes on our arrival. The cottage is perfect for a get away but close enough to Harlech and other attractions in Snowdonia. The beaches are wonderful in this area. We couldn’t fault our stay our hosts were warm and welcoming would highly recommend.

We've just returned from a fabulous weeks stay at the wonderful Moelfre Cottage.

What a wonderfully, cosy cottage and the decor is of a very high standard. Location is exactly what we were looking for, quite remote with stunning views of the mountains but also close enough to the lovely village of Llanbedr which has some lovely pubs to eat in, a convenience store and a cafe that serves lovely take away sandwiches for your travels. The owners of the cottage were very welcoming and friendly and we arrived to find some gorgeous looking cupcakes and they tasted delicious too, a lovely surprise. The owners also have a fabulous campsite just down the road from the cottage with a wonderful waterfall walk and a few other very scenic walks too. We walked there from the cottage, did the waterfalls walk and back again quite easily as a family but you can drive there. We spent a few days local as it is so beautiful there and walking/cycling in either direction from the cottage is a must to take in the scenic views. Harlech is 3 miles away and has a fantastic beach for the whole family, castle (well worth a visit) and some quaint shops. The ice cream parlour sells the best tasting ice cream that I have ever tasted tbh. We spent a couple of days at the beach too, stunning. Other pretty villages that are well worth a visit is Beddlegert and Bettws-y-Coed. We'll definitely return again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Moelfre Cottage.

It is beautifully presented and in such a peaceful location. Walking distance to the Nantcol waterfalls and around Moelfre mountain. Ten minutes drive to a selection of beaches and less than an hours drive to snowdon and other places such as Portmerion. This is the second time we’ve stayed in the area and we would definitely come back to Moelfre. Eleri was really friendly and helpful, bringing up a high chair for our youngest. As well as leaving the most delicious cup cakes we’ve ever tasted for us upon arrival. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet stay that is a short drive from beaches, castles and mountain walks!

We have just returned from the most fabulous stay at Moelfre Cottage.

I cannot fault the stay. From the minute we pulled up to the cottage it felt like home. The location of the cottage is breathtaking. Fabulous, unspoilt views and amazingly peaceful. Set amongst hills and near the farm, the cottage was a little piece of heaven.The little stream running through the back garden was beautiful and the children loved playing in it. Absolutely spotless cottage. The cottage was very well equipped. Bathrooms modern and clean. Bedrooms stunning. The views from every window in the house perfect. Owners were so friendly. Fresh baking on arrival a very thoughtful touch. Fabulous location for visiting Portmerion, Harlech castle and the local beaches. A must was going to Nancol Waterfalls and swimming in the stream. I would 100 percent recommend this cottage and location.

Stayed in the cottage 4th - 11th June and absolutely loved it, the cottage was spotless and was very peaceful along with fantastic views.

I'd highly recommend the waterfalls near by, only £3 parking which I feel was great value. Will definitely be staying again.

The fact that we were in the mountains away from other people was so nice.

We totally switched off and enjoyed the views around us. We walked for miles and took so many photos. We will definitely be back. The welcome we received from Eleri was lovely too. If we could move here we would!!

Just what the doctor ordered for a quiet relaxing holiday.

The cottage is exceptional it’s warm cosy and everything you need is there. The only down side we had was the weather. If you want a holiday that’s quiet, secluded and 5* you can’t go far wrong with Moelfre cottage. I would definitely go there again.

We enjoyed days out in Porthmadog, Criccieth and Barmouth which are in easy reach by car. Would highly recommend!

A lovely cottage with beautiful scenery.

Beautifully furnished to a high standard. We arrived to some delicious home made cakes which was a lovely thought by the owner. Cottage was perfectly situated to visit many attractions locally including Nantcol waterfalls, Harlech, Barmouth and Snowdon. Would definitely stay again! Perfect for a family of four. My only suggestion for improvement is to have a softer pillow. I just couldn’t sleep with my head at such an elevation. However that’s my personal preference. There also seems to be a slight leak in the downstairs Lounge window (near the bronze award certificate) which lets rain.

Great Cottage.

Everything you needed was there. it’s quite remote but only a 5 minute drive from the village. The lovely host even made us a delicious Victoria sponge cake for our arrival. Highly recommend and would definitely return.

It is a lovely cottage in the shadow of Moelfre.

Inside it's well equipped with all the kitchen basics, smart TVs in each room and decent working wifi which given the likelihood of rain and lack of a mobile signal is a very good thing - if you are planning to use your phones satnav best to set the route before you get in the car! We were greeted personally by the lovely host, a tray of cakes and lots of covid assurance, gels etc. If I were to suggest one improvement it would the addition of a gas bbq - the veranda / patio is lovely and would be the perfect place to fire up the bbq on a warm and not wet evening. Strongly recommend.

Wonderful stay.

The cottage is stunning. Beautifully decorated, very clean and the owners have thought of everything. Our son gave it 10,000 stars, so he enjoyed it too! Very peaceful location. Great walks from the door step. Loads to do locally and there is a lovely village near by. Hope to be back!

It was a beautiful cottage.

The owners were extremely helpful and I would thoroughly recommend it. It is very remote which might not suit everyone but was perfect for us.

The location, the views, cleanliness of the cottage is such calming and happy welcome for us.

Moelfre cottage is just amazing, a beautifully situated property, so stylishly furnished, with all modern kitchen appliances and bathrooms to die for.

I have rarely stayed at such a complete property. Eleri was such a welcoming and warm owner, making sure we were fully happy with our stay and also a great source of local knowledge. Her cake making skills are pretty fantastic too. The Boxing day trip on the Ffestiniog Steam Railway was wonderful experience, as was visiting Port Meirion. Both only about 35 minutes away.

We arrived at the cottage in the dark and rain so just wanted to get our stuff inside out of the cold and wet , we were blown away by the cottage as the pictures don't do it justice , its was so tastefully furnished and cottagie if that makes scence.

In the morning when it was light we got to see the beauty of the location even though it was still raining, beautiful cottage in a beautiful location ,well recommended especially the lovely cakes from the owners

The cottage had many excellent features, not least the superb situation and not forgetting the delicious cupcakes provided by the friendly owner.

The main bed was especially comfortable. But there were a few niggles, some mentioned by previous tenants. The sofa was uncomfortable for any length of sitting. There was an unpleasant smell in one kitchen cupboard (only when opened). The lighting did not encourage reading - if only the quality ceiling lights in the kitchen and bedroom had also been installed across the main living area. We thought the heating was barely sufficient in the main room (November, 5-8C outside). It needed a 2nd radiator. We used the electric fan heater most of the time, especially in the morning and when returning late afternoon, to bring the temperature up to a reasonable level. Bedroom warmth was fine though. In summary, we wouldn't hesitate to rent in warmer months but wouldn't in the colder months.

Had a fantastic week at Moelfre cottage, really lovely property in a stunning location, it was clean and decorated beautifully also well equipped with lovely fluffy towels and the bed was so comfy.

Loved the peace and quite and just hearing the sound of running water from the stream that runs along the garden, beautiful when you're sitting outside on the balcony and the stunning waterfalls that are not too far just down from the cottage. The cakes we found on arrival were exquisite and the owners were very welcoming and Eleri popped along to see us to check everything was ok. Lots of places to visit nearby, the Vic down in the village is a lovely pub and reasonably priced with a good menu. If we had a slight niggle it would be with the sofas which we found difficult to get comfy on but apart from that everything else we couldn't fault it, my partner also missed his coffeee machine so maybe one of these would make it perfect. We enjoyed our stay immensely and would be happy to return. Thank you

The owners were very welcoming, we had freshly baked cupcakes waiting for us when we arrived! The cottage was exactly as shown on the website, very comfortable for the four of us, clean, with all the appliances we needed. We would definitely come back if visiting North Wales again.

What a wonderful cottage this is!

The cottage and location are beautiful. It is approximately 2 miles into the village with pubs, shops etc from the cottage. The cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished, being very well equipped too. When we arrived we had been left some exquisite cup cakes which were gorgeous. The bed was beautifully comfortable. The bathrooms modern and lovely thick fluffy towels. The outdoor balcony is a pleasure, lovely table, chairs and parosol. There was nothing not to love about the cottage and lovely Eleri. Book and see!

More kitchen and dining equipment would have been nice, so it was not necessary to wash up so frequently. Lacking a large enough cafeteria for four people. In spite of this, would definitely recommend.

Lovely cottage in a very quiet and secluded spot whilst also being well situated for exploring the area.

Everything was just perfect!

The cottage was gougeous, very clean, warm and welcoming, and the homemade cake was "to die for" such a lovely touch. The views and the location of the cottage are stunning, I have fallen in love with North Wales. I have already checked on the availability of the cottage as I cannot wait to return.

The cottage was in a quiet and beautiful location in the countryside with no adjacent houses, just hillsides and sheep!

It was very warm and comfortable inside with a modern design and all mod cons. It was well decorated for Christmas and Eleri had even left a Christmas welcome pack which included a delicious home made Yule log cake. She popped along in person to see that we'd settled in ok, which was a nice personal touch. There are just two things to mention: There was a strong smell in some of the kitchen cupboards which suggested a problem behind them which needs looking at. It would have been helpful to have a large scale map and some local information on the area. Having said this, we really enjoyed our stay here and would be happy to return.

Beautiful location, fabulous cottage that exceeded our expectations.

When you have accommodation like this the holiday is going to be special. It’s like a home from home. Beautifully decorated, thoughtfully laid out and furnished. Everything you need, all modern appliances and comfortable bed with designer bedding. On arrival a big wow factor and a very tasty sponge cake. Please don’t book, find somewhere else as we need to keep this one to ourselves!

Moelfre Cottage is beautiful.

Furnished and decorated to a high standard. Setting is lovely, with mountain views and a little stream alongside the gardens. Bedding and towels are provided, well equipped kitchen. The owners had kindly left a cake when we arrived, which was a nice unexpected touch! Thank you!

A Gorgeous Cottage with everything you could need to hand.

A warm welcome from the owner when we arrived plus a freshly baked cake! Peace & quiet guaranteed besides the sound of the sheep/lambs. Wild goat roam nearby and the scenery is just stunning. Porthmadog & Barmouth close by for shopping. Loved staying here & hope to be back soon. Highly recommend!

Absolutely fantastic cottage.

Probably the best one we've stayed in.

The cottage was immaculately presented and provided a very cosy stay.

It had everyhting we needed. Location was so peaceful with lots of lovely walks near by including the nantcol waterfalls. We would definately recommend this cottage for getting away from a hectic lifestyle, it certainly did the trick for us and our dog had a great stay too. We had a wonderful Christmas break at this cottage.

Owners were very welcoming and took time to decorate the cottage for the festive period. Very clean and comfortable.

Nestled at the foot of our own little mountain this secluded cottage was the base for a perfect pre Christmas break.

The building had recently been lovingly renovated & was immaculate. We were welcomed by mince pies & mulled wine treats as well as a Christmas tree & tasteful decorations. The owner popped by shortly after we got there to make sure we'd settled in. The area offered plenty to do during our short break & the local pub served great homemade food. We couldn't have asked for more.

The house and location were marvellous and exceeded our expectations.

Where the cottage was situated was amazing there was no noise apart from the sheep and the stream, the odd car or tractor came past but it wasn't constant.

you were in complete tranquility. Would highly recommend for anyone who wants to get away from hustle and bustle and needs to relax

Wow, what an amazing place Moelfre Cottage is.

Was set in a beautiful location,Llanbedr, with some truly stunning walks and beaches nearby. A wonderful place to sit outside taking in the views of the mountains in the evening. The House itself was ideal and we all felt very pampered there. The décor and facilities are as expected from the listing and all of us agreed that these were probably the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in! Everything was spotless, there really were no down sides to anything. The owner Eleri was so kind and even made us a cake for our arrival. Access to Harlech, Barmouth and Pothmadog all a stones throw and very easy. To anyone that is considering a stay here I would just say book it, as you will miss a great holiday if not. We arrived home yesterday and all of us are missing it terribly. The whole package was perfect. Thank you to Eleri and Sykes cottages!!
