Yr Hen Felin
Description
Yr Hen Felin is a beautifully converted former watermill in the heart of Dyffryn Ardudwy, Gwynedd, offering a holiday retreat rich in character and history, with ample space for memorable gatherings.
Framed by open countryside and commanding sweeping views of the sea and Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), this property places dramatic scenery at the centre of your stay.
Inside, original oak beams and exposed stonework blend seamlessly with contemporary design, creating a home that honours its heritage while delivering modern comfort.
Set across two floors, the layout is thoughtfully arranged for larger groups.
The ground floor features two king-size bedrooms with en-suites, one including a bath with shower over, alongside a flexible family room with a single bed and child’s bed.
Upstairs, a further king-size bedroom with en-suite shower and a twin room provide additional privacy.
The first-floor lounge is a standout space, where a woodburning stove and wide windows frame the coastal and mountain views.
A separate library offers a peaceful corner for reading, while the games room, complete with pool table, promises lively entertainment.
The sleek kitchen/diner opens onto a generous patio, perfect for alfresco meals against a backdrop of sea views.
Dyffryn Ardudwy’s unique position between mountains and shoreline makes it an ideal base for exploring North Wales.
Discover Barmouth’s sandy beach, Mawddach Estuary walks, and boat trips, or head to Porthmadog for heritage railways, its colourful harbour, and the iconic village of Portmeirion.
Within Eryri National Park (Snowdonia), enjoy scenic trails, waterfalls, and a wealth of outdoor pursuits for all abilities.
Yr Hen Felin combines history, space, and spectacular surroundings, offering a truly memorable setting for your next Welsh adventure.

What guests are saying
We had a lovely weeks stay in the property at the end of August.
Lovely spacious accommodation, very clean and a fantastic location just down the road from the sand dune beach. Would highly recommend
From the minute we arrived we were welcomed by the owners and shown around the accommodation, which was clean and well equipped.
The house was very comfortable and had a nice welcome pack of tea, coffee, bread, milk, cake and butter. The outside area had plenty of comfortable seating and the pool table was an added bonus. Tony and Sarah went above and beyond to make our stay so enjoyable. Can't wait for another visit. Sue and Philip
We had a lovely stay at this property.
It has everything you need and more. Great location for some little strolls down to the beach. Shops and a pub close by and only a short drive to Barmouth if you are looking for somewhere with a bit more going on. Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in and around this beautiful part of Wales.
