Murmur Y Don
Description
Murmur Y Don occupies a prime elevated position overlooking Harlech Beach, locally known as “Good God Corner” for its awe-inspiring coastal vistas.
Dating back to 1907, this distinctive property is set within an acre of mature gardens, offering a peaceful haven for families and friends seeking a scenic Welsh escape.
Inside, the ground floor features a welcoming hallway and a convenient shower room, alongside a well-equipped kitchen complete with an oil-fired Firebird range cooker, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine, and walk-in larder.
After dinner, relax in the study with books and games or unwind in the sitting room, which flows into a panoramic window room framing breathtaking views.
Upstairs, four bedrooms await: two doubles with French doors to a balcony, another double, and a single, all showcasing uninterrupted sea views.
Indulge in a soak in the impressive 6’ cast-iron freestanding bath or explore the extensive gardens.
Harlech’s dramatic clifftop castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and its golden beach are close by, while Barmouth offers a bustling harbour and Victorian promenade.
For scenic walks and cycling, head to the Mawddach Estuary, or venture to Porthmadog for heritage steam train journeys through Eryri’s rugged landscapes and a visit to the colourful village of Portmeirion.
Murmur Y Don is the perfect base for an unforgettable North Wales coastal adventure.

What guests are saying
This property is the most amazing cottage so much history and it has the most breath taking view ever - direct access to the beach.
Would be great if mattresses were updated in the main bedrooms. Would 100% stay again
What a unique, interesting, characterful property, topped off with the most wonderful views.
The walk down to the beach, across the road from the house is a must. The house is perfectly positioned to explore further afield either by car or by train. The owner was easily contactable should you need to and we felt completely welcome in this home which is clearly full of treasured memories and history. Really enjoyed our stay here. Thank you
It was a pleasure and a privilege to spend a week in this beautiful family holiday home.
The views over Harlech Bay and the Lleyn Peninsula beyond are breathtaking. The house is beautiful inside and out and like stepping back in time - in a good way! There are plenty of books and games to amuse you, and many marks of the family’s long ownership, alongside an interesting history, amusingly told. Harlech is within walking distance and there is plenty to do come rain or shine (we had both). Probably the best soak in the bath I have ever had - a magnificent cast iron tub dating back to 1907. Overall highly recommended.
