It's a gorgeous barn, in a beautiful area.

It just needs to be better maintained. Dish washer wasn't working. No instructions for oven, hob, TV etc. As others have mentioned small tweaks needed.

This is in a brilliant location.

Close to facilities and the beach. The accommodation was nice but let down by first impressions. The drive into the property was eyesore, old Trucks, heavy machinery, and building materials left untidy really ruins the potential charm of this property. It felt like a dumping ground. The property also smelled badly of dogs. I have a dog and appreciate the challenge. The place needed airing and cleaning surfaces and sofa left the accommodation smelling fresh and clean but that shouldn’t have been a job for guests This is a potential gem sadly let down by two issues.

The front door needs some serious attention!

! We have left feedback for the campsite. The cottage is very comfortable, well equipped and in a great location. The site owners are very helpful and the location to the sea is a 5 minute walk away. I would highly recommend this property.

The barn is very nice, as returning guests we have visited many times as we love the location.

However on this occasion the WiFi was out of service from day one. It remained so for the duration of our stay. After repeated calls and messages and visits to the site office, sadly the owners were uninterested and unhelpful. We have raised a complaint with the owners head office at Lyons, sadly the staff on site could not understand why we needed WiFi, with us pointing out that the Smart TV requires it to access the streaming services? It was only our barn that was affected.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cornel Glyd, there were lots of improvements since our previous visit which made our stay very comfortable.

Having stayed at the property for on a number of occasions, we couldn’t help but notice that some aspects of the property could do with some tlc.

There were wall fixings still there where pictures/paintings had clearly been removed and not replaced, the mixrowave handle was missing leaving 2 screws exposed, the toilet flush was broken, the gutter has a large crack in meaning the rain makes a lot of noise on the lounge window and the door is not aligned properly meaning it doesn’t shut unless slammed which is going to make the problem worse. Otherwise it was clean and comfortable as always, just needs some minor repairs to bring it back up to previous standards.

The cottage was well appointed and very clean with wonderful views of the sea especially from the outdoor seating to the front.

My wife and I took the double which was very comfortable and my cousin took the twin. Her room was uncomfortably hot. Directly next to her room was the boiler which was noisy, especially during the otherwise quiet night-time. So much so that she switched beds away from that wall. This worked until the last night when the boiler noise even could be heard at the opposite end of the premises. As a result I am afraid that she would not be able to return there unless the issues of noise and excess heat had been dealt with. This is a shame because otherwise the accommodation was perfect for our needs.

Absolutely lovely cottage, quiet, peaceful and spacious.

The shower is amazing, as is the heating…bit too hot for when we were there, but as the rain fell we did need to use it occasionally. Having the washer/dryer is a bonus. Some things do need looking at though. The grater is broken, the bottom of the front door sticks, the toilet flush is missing a piece to press. But, the patio and view of the sea make up for it.

Absolutely loved Cornel Glyd, would 100% return!

Location was perfect, really pretty spot! Couple of things that could be improved. 1. There is quite a bit of mould in the shower, mainly in the silicone this would be easy to fix/get rid of. 2.The lockbox for the key was broken when we arrived. 3. The bathroom could’ve been cleaned better, there was hair on the floor when we arrived. 4.The toilet flush was partly broken on arrival but still useable.

Lovely cottage but needs attention to detail on maintenance and cleanliness, tufts of dog hairs all around floor and human toe nail clippings!

The sofa is most uncomfortable I have ever used and only suitable for two people not four. With above addressed would be excellent.

The place we stayed in was lovely.

It was clean, had everything you'd need and was close to the beach, shops and beautiful scenery. The only issue for us was there was no enclosed area for our dog. Maybe the patio at the front could be enclosed.

Lovely cottage.

Tastefully designed stone barn conversion and beautifully decorated. The beds were the most comfortable we have ever slept in! Everything was spotlessly clean and the towels were fluffy white. The additional wall heaters (used in addition to the under floor heating) were very welcome, as the weather was not ideal during our weekend stay and below seasonal average temperatures and the cottage remained toasty warm. The only down sides were a secure place for dogs to run around, as we had to take them out on a lead each time and the broken caravans in front of the cottage. I have an electric vehicle and had access to an EV charger in the caravan park opposite - which was great. We never got around to using the swimming pool - but it was nice to have it available if we wanted. We enjoyed the lovely close localities, such as Portmeirion, Barmouth and Harlech was great. Would recommend it.

We loved the cottage but not too keen on the new seating I think it would benefit from two settees or at least a separate comfy chair… Also would like to see.

I more hooks behind the doors…,and pictures on the walls where the empty hooks are!!!. I think the downside of this is the building site that is on the approach into the cottages …,it just looks unsightly for such an idyllic 5 star spot….but we did love our stay and hope to return ,,,,

Sofa does not seat 4 and is only reasonably comfy for 2.

Sheet does not fit over double bed so rumples up underneath you. Not enough knives, forks or spoons. However, these slight inconveniences did not stop us from enjoying our holiday and will continue to visit as love the area.

The barn was clean and tidy and like home from home The only thing i would comment on is the built in microwave has no handle and two sharp screws sticking out where the handle should be this should be repaired asap before someone catches themselves on the screws

We have stayed at this property four times as we love the location.

The property has had some changes, the seating has been replaced with a low back corner unit which is not very comfortable and really only ideal for two people to sit on. Minor house keeping issues which would not necessarily put us of staying there again. All in all the very nice place to spend a weeks holiday.

Accommodation was lovely and spotlessly clean loved the open plan and would love to go back for me the only slight thing I would change would be to have control of the heating as for us it was to hot so pretty much had to have the windows open most of the time but as I have said would love to go back

Great location, very clean and comfortable, accurate description and would definitely look to return again, property had everything required for our short break as well as a longer stay.

Unfortunately the description of the property was jot accurate.

The listing described secure bike storage which did not exist. We booked the cottage specifically for this as we travelled to the area for mountain biking. The property was also lacking adequate facilities for a family of 4 to eat. The breakfast bar had 4 chairs but inly space for 2, max 3 to sit at the abr comfortably with space for legs under it. We also disliked the caravan grave yard infront of the property.

A lovely, comfortable cottage, about half a mile from the sea.

Generally quiet and restful location, close to amenities. My second visit so can’t be bad, but could do with a couple of items of repair.

It was disappointing that there was no welcome goods- eg bread, milk, cake like previous visits.

There wasn’t even salt and pepper in the cupboard. The front door is terrible to close and open and needs sorting. The toilet flush cover (the little silver bit) fell off. This was also mentioned in the guest book but obviously not been fixed. There was only one tea towel, again not great for 5 days self catering. The view was extremely disappointing and it is literally a dump outside the barn. The track was filthy to walk on due to the trucks. I text the contact detail a week prior to ask something and no reply. I also rang on arrival to ask something and again no answer and no reply.

Wonderful cottage in a lovely setting.

Have stayed here now numerous times and will continue to do so. Love the place and surroundings.

We had a very good stay at the property which is well maintained however there was one big issue which was the field directly in front of the Barns has become a graveyard for old static caravans.

Juggernaughts were delivering and removing them throughout the day which did break the peace somewhat. This was our fourth time at the complex and hopefully we will return as it’s a perfect property and location for our needs.

Entrance door was difficult to open and close heating was on continually and notice not to touch controls but otherwise the accommodation was fine

Lovely property in a lovely place, some maintenance required front door dosnt fit and difficult to close, and some attention to cleaning required dust in a lot of places.

Beautiful place and we will be booking again a couple of things need looking at.

The cooker had not been cleaned was very dirty, two saucepans still had food stuck to them, there was little cutlery only three knives. The central heating would not switch off at all, someone came to turn it down but it still constantly worked through night, the shower would not run any warm water was cold and other reviews said the same going back as far as May so could not shower. But with this maintenance looked at it is a lovely place.

Whilst I know that it is the end of the season, there are some things that need attending to at the cottage, which have been mentioned by other guests before me, the shower, well the boiler, needs looking at, the pressure keeps dropping, so the shower goes cold.

The door into the property doesn't close very easily, it has dropped. The flush on the toilet is broken, and there seems to be an intermittant issue with the tv aerial, there is a fault on the picture, a band which comes and goes. There was no washing up liquid, sponges or clothes, not something I expect to have to bring to a cottage. We did have a good week here, it is in a lovely position, just a bit disappointed really, thanks. Oh, and the contact details need updating on the website, the lady listed no longer owns it.

Good location for exploring local area.

Cottage in need of some upkeep/maintenance repairs (front door sticking and creaking, toilet seat poorly fitted, black out blind in twin bedroom missing). Personal thoughts on kitchen rather than specific issue - poorly designed (e.g. dishwasher on opposite side of peninsula to the rest of the kitchen). Unable to seat a family of four in the cottage - only 3 seat spaces (4th person sat with nil leg space against the cupboards). Noisy in double bedroom from road and also neighbours in adjoining house (lived in) dogs from this property noisy in the yard backing onto whole rear of the cottage. Cottage was warm -heated floor is a great addition. Quick response when contacted regarding issue with the wi-if. Very disappointed in the lack of information folder which I was advised was being updated. Bits of Information provided (which was minimal) was spread out in a few various signs in different places . Would be much more helpful if in one location and some local area info would be really helpful. Land around the cottage owned by caravan park and more caravans arriving for storage on our last couple of days - it’s a shame as I feel it makes the cottages feel a bit more compressed and surrounded by caravans whereas currently it is pleasant sat out front and you do feel you have done space and privacy currently.

Lovely cosy cottage.

We visited Harlech, Barmouth and Machynlleth during our stay. It’s near the train station too.A short walk to the pebbled beach. Pubs that accept dogs within walking distance. Would recommend this cottage.

Past five. Years and love it. The cottage is always clean and tidy and the location is fantastic. It's like home from home.

We loved the cottage- clean and comfortable and lovey lovely view and walk to the sea. We really appreciate places we can bring the dog. The shower was a little difficult to get to stay at temperature - going from hot to cold and back again but I'm really just saying that in case you want to look at it - it certainly didn't spoil our stay! We have stayed at Cornel Glyd a few times over the years and have found it really comfortable and so accessible for the beaches and woods around the area.

Would definitely recommend. Just one slight thing, where previously we have been welcomed with bread, butter ,milk and dog biscuits, these were sadly missing. But all in all we had a great time. Anni

We had a lovely stay in Cornel Glyd for my 60th birthday Shame about the weather but we did add on an extra day and so glad as the weather on that extra day was beautiful.

Cornel Glyd was excellent and very clean and comfortable. Only tiny issue was the freezer compartment door would not open but the owner came asap and sorted it for us. We were so pleased with our stay we are coming back in May!

This was a very comfortable cottage, very warm especially as it was January.

Bed very comfortable, bed room cool which was good. Lovely practice furnishings. Very well equipped kitchen. Easy to keep clean with pets. Brilliant shower.

The cottage was lovely, cosy and clean, beds were really comfy and the cottage well equipped.

Special mention to Sophie who was really helpful, we would definitely stay again. The only negative which is nothing to do with the cottage is the constant barking from the dog in the house behind which is left outside at all hours of the day!

Beautiful cottage.

Plenty of space for a family of 4 and dog. Everything you could possibly need and more in the kitchen. Good location and great pool at the caravan park. Only downside was no enclosed outside area for our puppy. Would book again.

What did let it down was all the dog hair and dog treats that blew from under the sofa when we brought the fan into the living room. We really did our homework before booking. We were really disappointed that the beach at the end of the road was inaccessible to less mobile.

This is our 4th year of renting one of these lovely cottages.

We come twice a year with our two cocker spaniels. The location is fantastic for long walks along the beach. The cottage was spotless as usual and it has everything you could need. We just love it here!

It was ideal for a short break with my disabled elderly parents as all lower floor living. Clean and everything we needed during our stay.

Great size - was ample space for us, our two dogs and our 5 months twins. Great location and plenty to keep us occupied without using the car most days. Lovely touch arriving to milk, eggs, bread, butter and jam. Would definitely recommend and we will come back again soon.

We had a great time at Cornel Glyd.

The cottage had all the comforts of home and everything we needed for our stay. We had a lovely welcome pack with bread, jam, eggs butter and delicious cheese - thank you. You could walk the dog to the beach down a quiet lane and there were lots of other good dog walks a short drive away. The cottage is in a good location for visiting Barmouth, Harlech, Portmadoc etc. There are some nice pubs for eating/drinking close by. All in all a lovely comfy cottage in a good location.

We love the cottage and the location.

This is our sixth time here and we've booked again for another two times next year. It has everything we need. The cottage is clean and spacious with everything you need.

We reported the shower having a problem, it was either scalding or cold, the problem wasn’t rectified The extractor hood over the hob had a thick layer of dust on it, clearly hadn’t been cleaned for ages.

There were grains of rice in the dishwasher when we arrived. A lamp was without a bulb in the lounge. Attention to detail was lacking.

we have been here two years ago and it was great the only thing was there was no gate ,Well it was so nice to see a gate this time but come on how hard would it be for the owners to actually fit it so you don't need to pick it up or slide it as its a very large farmers gate .

they could fit a very nice wooden gate an would look the part too. As there was old people in one of the cottages and she could not move it and at one point it fell on her. but apart from that the place is great the dogs loved it we loved it 4stars would be 5 star but the gate needs sorting .

This has been our 6th visit to the cottage as we love everything about it.

The location is amazing and the cottage is always clean and well presented. Our dogs love it here also. We'd highly recommend the cottages to anyone!

Cornel Glyd was a perfect cottage for a weekend by the sea.

It was within easy walking distance to the beach as well as beautiful countryside around the area. The cottage was immaculate with everything we (and our dog) needed. I'd highly recommend a stay here, or in one of the adjoining cottages. Barmouth beach is beautiful for a long, barefoot walk in the sunshine. We'll definitely visit again.

The accommodation was perfect.

Everything that you needed for a break away. Took my dog with me and thoroughly enjoyed the beach which was a short walk away and the woods in the hills for when it rained. Would thoroughly recommend. Ann

The walk to the beach unpleasant.

Huge caravan parks meant loads of traffic on road with no pavement. Anyone elderly or with walking difficulties would struggle to get onto the beach unless they found the ramp down to the beach through one of the caravan parks. It does say no through road to beach on entry signs to the park. The huge rocks down to the beach are impossible to climb over. We mainly went to Barmouth for the beach. Had this of been made clear on cottage information we would have chosen somewhere else. Also, if taking your dog no secure area to let them off the lead

This was a real home from home experience and everything that we could of possibly needed was catered for.

The cottage was very warm and cosy and a great location for getting out and about and we just loved it there. We have already recommended it to friends and family and will be booking a return visit very soon.

It was a lovely cottage in a really good location.

The cottage was really well equipped and comfortable - we had a welcome pack of bread/eggs and milk on arrival and accommodation was very clean. The location was excellent. We tried out the local eateries, as recommended in the guest book, and we were not disappointed. Weather was also very good for mid September; we were privy to seeing some lovely sunsets and this all added that special ingredient to a wonderful week for us. Would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to visit this part of North Wales.

Difficult one because it's not really your fault or the cottage owners', but was disappointed not to have use of the swimming pool advertised, even though we were there at the time when pools in Wales were allowed to be open.

In the event we were lucky with weather so were in the sea every day and didn't miss the pool. However, I paid extra (probably to the tune of a couple of hundred pounds) on the basis that the cottage came with free use of a pool, and this service was not available. I wouldn't have paid as much as this for a cottage had it been advertised with no pool. It would be a good gesture if there was some form of compensation to reflect this, though i'm not holiding by breath. Otherwise, the cottage was fine - clean and comfy, though wifi not great, and the area was brilliant for the kids.

Beautiful cottage with views of the sea in the distance.

Very clean and comfortable, quiet and relaxing. Everything was catered for and the gestures of leaving bread milk eggs and butter was a kind thought and much appreciated. The under floor heating made the cottage warm and cosy. You are close to amenities and a short car or train ride into Barmouth or Duffryn is up the road where you have a supermarket, butchers and post office come newsagents. We would definitely book this cottage again.

Excellent accommodation throughout except could not regulate shower.

Either too hot or too cold. Beautiful beach 10 minutes walk away and pub 10 minutes walk in other direction. Close to nearest town of Barmouth whitch had an amazing beach where dogs were allowed until end of March. Pubs were very dog friendly.Fantastic walks around from easy beaches to quite moderate to hard walks up mountains. We would definately visit again.

I am a bit picky about holiday cottages, I didn't need to worry.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the door was how lovely and clean the cottage was and cosy. The welcome pack, thoughtful touches for our dog and even some Halloween sweets for our daughter, were much appreciated. The bed was very comfortable. The WiFi was great and the large TV was better than ours at home! Best of all, it's a short walk to the beach which was perfect for a ball loving dog, not to mention the stunning sunsets. You can also see the sea from the courtyard which is lovely with a cup of tea in the morning sun.

The location of the cottage was excellent.

Lovely sea views on one side and beautiful welsh hills on the other. The cottage was an absolute delight. We took both our dogs and they was welcomed by a doggie biscuit each, much to their excitement!! We also had a some nice goodies waiting for us humans, which was a lovely touch after a long journey (we could make a welcome cup of tea and have a snack on arrival). It was clean and presented to a very high standard, the underfloor heating was a luxury. Along with the ease of booking and information from the owner regarding the key collection, we won’t hesitate to book this cottage again and thankyou for those welcome little touches.

The little extras on arrival were a welcome surprise, eggs bread butter coffee and marmalade and not forgetting the dog biscuit which was enjoyed. Not often I'm sad leaving a holiday destination but on this occasion I was. We had the most relaxing holiday. Never been to North Wales and can safely say I will be returning. Absolutely wonderful and beautiful towns.

The cottage was brilliant.

Near to Barmouth and shops nearby. Central for travelling to different places.

The cottage is very well appointed warm and comfortable.

However I do think the following three observations need to be made clear. I think the situation/position of the cottage should be made clear in that it's surrounded by caravan and camping sites and all the noise and hustle and bustle and endless dog barking that goes with such an environment. If the main entrance/exit to cottage was blocked with parked cars I was told to use the other entrance/exit this proved to be fairly dangerous as cars sped up and down the narrow road and difficult to see clearly as the angle of the wall either side obscures your vision, perfectly alright if you were in a 4x4 or farm vehicle as you'd be able to see over the wall. Being in Cornel Glyd anyone wishing to use the laundry facility has to walk past the cottage door and as with people washing and drying they tend to go back and forth, so if your sitting outside enjoying a cup of tea or lunch it does tend to make everyone feel slightly uncomfortable as they go about their business.

We stayed for a week in March, unfortunately the weather was not great for us.

We arrived after 4pm and found the cottage easily. Keys were in a secure key safe and we were given the lock number well in advance. The cottage was exceptionally clean and welcoming. It was great to find a nice supply of tea, coffee, milk, jam, bread and eggs and a few extras. Well equipped for our dog, bowls and blankets were supplied. It is unusual to find so many extras in a holiday cottage. Easy access to the beach for long walks, and a local Spa under a mile away with a great butchers (try the homemade pork pies). Great base for touring North Wales. All rooms are very well equipped, nice size lounge with comfortable settees and a good size TV. Main bedroom good size and King size bed. Underfloor heating and a very toasty bathroom with a large shower. All in all would highly recommend a stay at Cornel Glyd, although probably gets very busy around the surrounding area in high season so would recommend either early or later in the year.

Well it was a cold ish week and the temperature of the cottage was toasty so that was good.

The shower was powerful and large. Bathroom a very high standard. It has been done very well with thick curtains and blinds, solid good quality furniture, excellent bed (I usually end up with back ache when I go away so this was a big plus) and a king size bed like we have at home so everything added up to make our stay a good one. We were really unwell with a flu thing for the whole week so we spent more time in the cottage than we anticipated. We cooked roast dinners etc most evenings and everything you need for cooking is there in the kitchen. We watched a lot of TV on the huge TV so this was a bonus and wifi was fast. I don't think they could have done anything to improve this place really. We went walking the first day and the people are really friendly in the area. The housekeepers got in touch really quickly when we had a question. We will definitely be back in the future. Thank you so much.

Excellent cottage exceeded expectations very welcoming ideal location

The owner was on holiday so other contact numbers left for us & really impressed with the help from Gary when we discovered the oven didn’t work.

Replaced within 2 days & kept us informed of progress. Cottage well located for days at beach or trips further afield, including ZipWorld. Great family location & good facilities in cottage.

Lovely last minute short break with my daughter and dog!

Great location, hosts live next door so if anything was needed they would be there although we didn’t need anything. The beach is a 5 minutes walk away and we put in a few km over the weekend. Visited Harlech castle which was lovely & had takeaway from the local Italian which again was great after a long days walking and not having to think about cooking! Beds were very comfortable and the under floor heating was a great touch. There wasn’t any bin bags but I had a couple of carrier bags so wasn’t a problem. Would definitely go again

We think there are a few points to raise with this cottage: On arrival there was no toilet roll The cottage was cold on arrival and every morning as the under floor heating is not sufficient and we’d recommend the owners install a fire/log burner The kitchen items were not clean The fridge was not functioning correctly and was ‘just about cold’ and the bottle shelf was broken The oven is in need of repair as the grill drops down when used The owners blocked the drive way on a regular basis and we were forced to use a rock covered access road.
