A lovely house with great views.

Took my family of 11 with 4 dogs, still plenty of room for all. A rustic feel with all modern conveniences. Some lovely little touches by the owners on arrival (teabags coffee,cake, soaps etc). Unfortunately the hot tub was not heating. Chris tried his best to fix it including changing filters and calling in a specialist repair company but parts needed to be ordered and we went before they arrived. However a partial refund was given for this. Chris and Georgia were lovely and most helpful when needed but not intrusive. Great walks available but transport needed to go to town or beach. All in all great holiday and would go again.

Great location, and accommodated 10 of us without a problem.

Large living and kitchen areas, giving plenty of room to spread out, and pretty much everything provided, from washing up liquid to handwash, tea, coffee and sugar. An ideal base for any holiday in mid Wales.

Its a cozy rustic farmhouse conversion.

Not luxurious but practical and pretty for a family of actives who want to take advantage of the nearby attractions. Located on the A470, you can drive in either direction to places of interest along stunning, scenic routes. The home itself is tucked away, very quiet and roomy. Lots of space for cooking meals and eating together. The pool table and darts room was a nice bonus too! Our family of 8 + 1 dog had a wonderful holiday here.

Perfect accommodation for a large group in a lovely part of Wales.

Fab lemon drizzle cake on arrival. Chris was friendly and very informative about the area.

We had a glorious week in dinas mawddwy we were blessed with the weather and surrounding area .

Just afew faults with the cottage I'm sorry to say has a family of 7 and 3 children under 6 and a baby of 7 months it was slightly run down . Some of the frying pans needed throwing out not fit for cooking it was stained and rusty the flooring in the bathroom was wript and coming up . There was no child friendly bowls ie plastic or cutlery for them to eat from. and we payed for a hot tub to use but day we got there none of the jets were working . We had a power cut due to thunder storms no one's fault but was not checked were we OK. There was candles to use but no ementies to make the baby a bottle has the whole area lost powder. my daughter had to ask the owner next door what can she do regards making the baby a bottle but was told she wasn't sure . But they did bring a small gas cooker to boil water on . It was a pleasant stay tinged with feeling of let down due to not being able to use the hot tub and the cleanliness . It needs a revamp in certain areas of the cottage going forward . Prices have gone up tremendously to have a family holiday we'd expect higher standards .

Ysgubor is spacious, homely, well-equipped and perfectly located for exploring Snowdonia and the Welsh coast. We’re already missing gazing out over the mountains from the hot-tub, what a stunning spot! Excellent holiday property, run by friendly, helpful hosts, very highly recommended.

Beautiful house and surroundings so picturesque.

Chris was so helpful and kind he introduced himself when we got there asked if we needed anything. Perks: A delicious complementary homemade lemon drizzle cake was left for us by Georgia. A Doggie bowl, treats, poo bags and towel for wiping those paws. No need to take cleaning products and tea/coffee/sugar was provided. Visited a lovely seaside village called Barmouth about 20mins drive away. Would recommend. Darts board, pool table, hot tub a hit. House was clean and tidy. Constructive criticism for the owner : The hot tub hadn't been turned on so was cold the first night and it didn't have any chlorine in. Luckily we took our own chlorine so resolved this issue and enjoyed it on the Saturday. Note to people wanting a take out. They don't deliver as you are in the middle of nowhere and they also shut early 4pm. Would highly recommend Ysgubor. We will definitely go back again as would like to see some of the fighter jets next time, but we will have to book during the week for this. We had a wonderful time in your delightful cottage.

Chris was very helpful and friendly with suggestions on where to take grandchildren. Lovely lemon drizzle cake thank you. The cottage had everything one could want for a large family gathering. Stunning views and jacuzzi was a hit with all. Great dinning table with log burner for atmospheric night time board games. A rare treat for our spaniel was a large beautiful enclosed garden for him to explore. Would love to stay again xx

We had a great holiday.

Nine adults aged twenty to sixty, plus three pets. The house is big - probably bigger than it looks on the website. It is wonderfully eccentric with each room having an individual character. The kitchen gets you fit - the sink is a long way from the cooker. The surroundings are beautiful, although it is a shame jets fly over a couple of times a day: a big shock the first time it happened. Wonderful walks nearby, particularly the Torrent Walk which is only ten minutes drive.

We have just had the best stay at Ysgubor.

We were a large group of three generations (6 adults, 5 kids, 3 dogs). The house was perfect for our needs. It is lovely and spacious so everyone could find space if needed, but also communal areas were plenty big enough to enjoy each other's company too. The kids loved the hot tub, as well as exploring the areas around the house. Many games of hide and seek were had! The house is well equipped (unusually so for a holiday cottage) and so we were able to do lots of cooking for us all which was great. We found the cottage easy to find, especially when using what3words. The house is quite isolated, which was a plus for us, we never had to worry about the kids making a noise, or where they were off adventuring! Also, the cottage is on an RAF flight path, called the Mach loop. This was definitely a highlight for us. At times it felt like you could see the underneath of the jets, incredible! The lemon drizzle cake and dog treats were a lovely touch, all in all we felt so welcome. We have already said how we would definitely be back as there's so much more we want to do in Southern Snowdonia. Thank you!!!

The listing said towels were provided so we didn’t take any, luckily the Georgia sent towels round apologetically, which we were very thankful for, as it was an error on the Sykes site, owners had told Sykes towels were no longer provided but website not updated.

Catastrophy averted but could’ve been a huge problem being a group of 9. Lovely house with everything else we could need, the children would entertain themselves playing hide and seek it was that large. Wood burners were lovely and the huge dining table seated everyone and was lovely to sit all together whilst the fire was on and eat together. Everyone loved the hot tub especially the children and it was never any trouble to get it topped up when the children were splashing water everywhere. Short drives to Bala and Barmouth and the town of Dolgellau, which was very pretty and quaint with an array of shops and pubs. The fish and chip shop there is great, the fish was amazing.
