    “Wonderful quiet getaway .”

Clean well equipped cottage. Can not wait to go again

The property

The quality and detail that has gone into this dear little cottage is superb, both inside and out.

With a subtle mountain theme, perfect for its' setting, much of the individual furniture has been hand crafted from local wood - we adore the coat hooks! "Tyn Llwyn Cornel is a superb renovation of a derelict stone barn, perfect for exploring the superb coastline, magical valleys and the majestic mountains of the Snowdonia National Park." Keen ramblers and climbers will enjoy the close proximity of The Moelwyns, Cnicht (the Welsh Matterhorn!) and Tremadog Rocks.

With central heating and a wood burning stove, it is so warm and welcoming to return to.

In addition to the guides and maps at the cottage, the owner is an Army and Civilian Mountain Leader and happy to offer advice on rambling and walking activities. A short walk from the cottage takes you to the Glaslyn Osprey Centre where you can watch these spectacular birds raise their young.

You can also grab a snack and a coffee while waiting to take a scenic ride on the Welsh Highland and Ffestiniog narrow gauge railways. Just a mile away is the popular hostelry, Brondanw Arms (known locally as The Ring) and a village shop.

Enjoy the tranquillity, peace and nature of the cottage location while also being just a short drive from the coast and many of the area's best visitor attractions - including the Welsh Highland Railway which is only 200m away! Take a look at the goings-on at Tyn Llwyn Cornel on the Instagram page.

About the location

PENRHYNDEUDRAETH

Portmeirion 2 miles; Porthmadog 3 miles; Beddgelert 7.7 miles.

The large village of Penrhyndeudraeth boasts a selection of shops, pubs, a fish and chip shop, Post Office and a railway station which takes you along the Ffestiniog Railway. Just two miles away is the celebrated unique Italianate village of Portmeirion, which was the location of the TV show The Prisoner, and is surrounded by sandy beaches and captivating woodlands. The harbour town of Porthmadog is a little further along, where you can journey along the Ffestiniog Railway to the slate town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, "the town that roofed the world". To the north is the pretty village of Beddgelert, which is set around the Afon Glaslyn River and offers craft shops, pubs, tea rooms, restaurants, and an enchanting riverside walk, and it’s also located in the stunning Snowdonia National Park, from where you can spend hours admiring the beautiful scenery on foot or by bike. Penrhyndeudraeth is an ideal base for exploring the Llyn Peninsula, Snowdonia National Park and many other places in North Wales.

The owner will be renovating the outbuilding next door to Tyn Llwyn Cornel (as seen to the right of the building). Works will begin Winter 2019 and we will have a schedule of works as they proceed.
