Above Deck

We had a great week in this lovely, clean, spacious, and conveniently located apartment.

The kitchen is well-equipped (though an oven glove would be useful!) and the beds very comfortable. The staff in the ice-cream parlour downstairs are very friendly and helpful. We realised on our first night that the boiler wasn’t working, but on contacting the owner, this was very quickly sorted and we had no further issues. We recommend Above Deck as a lovely place to stay in Beaumaris, and hope to return. Thank you.

A lovely property above the ice cream parlour, full of character and we had a lovely stay.

However if you have mobility issues or small children this may not be the property for you. There are some steep stairs to access the flat and the bathroom is a small shower room. The flat itself is across 2 floors with lots of nooks and crannies. Having said that we had a toddler, and bath time was awkward but she loved running around exploring all the nooks and crannies, just be prepared to follow them everywhere! We had a problem with the travel cot on arrival at 4.30pm and the owner had a new one to us by 7pm which is fantastic given how late she was informed! All in all would recommend but perhaps more suited to adults and older children that can bathe themselves.

What a fabulous place!

We were blown away by the history of this building. From the moment you enter the apartment its clear that a lot of care and attention has been paid to the decor and furnishings. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, the beds extremely comfortable and the bedding and towels were all beautifully laundered. The kitchen is very well appointed, we cooked a couple of meals there, all the utensils we needed were provided. The location in Beaumaris is excellent, in the middle of everything. Parking at the nearby Green is available for £7.50 for 24 hours. We will be sure to recommend Above Deck to friends and family and would not hesitate to book again. Thank you for a wonderful break in Beaumaris, our first visit to Anglesey but certainly not our last.

This is a lovely property right in the heart of Beaumaris so great for exploring.

It has lots of history and charm but is also contemporary and stylish with all modern conveniences and well equipped. The only thing I would change is maybe providing more than one door key, so if someone wants to go out separately they can.

A very impressive property, much larger than I had envisaged.

The apartment is very smart, nicely furnished with everything you might want in terms of comfort and is brilliantly located. Beaumaris is a lovely location. Good pubs and cafes, castle, gaol and easy accessible walks. Above Deck is a truly wonderful property and you cannot resist the ice cream parlour below for a lovely selection of treats.

The flat was in a brilliant location, it was really spacious, and provided every thing we needed for the week.

The flat had lots of character and being above the ice shop was brilliant. We'd definitely recommend a booking here.

Great location right on the main high street Easy to find , no parking but we parked on the green carpark plenty of room.

There are low beams in the bedrooms, if your tall you'd need to be careful, also the bathroom is downstairs just mindful of this during the night. And the WiFi is poor apart from in the kitchen, but over all a very spacious apartment.

The apartment is outstanding, but the bathroom really lets it down which is a real shame.

The kitchen is beautiful, lovely bedrooms, clean with every amenity you could need. However, I have seen larger en suites than the bathroom at Above Deck. You have to shut the door to open the small shower cubicle and the small space was very impractical when trying to wash my 6 and 3 year olds. It is also situated on the opposite side of the apartment and on another level to the bedrooms, so in the middle of the night we had to go down the stairs and down the hallway to use the toilet. I had to carry my little girls all the way there in the night, which wasn’t ideal. There was also a leak from the extractor fan in the kitchen after the rain one night. Everything was phenomenal, but the bathroom would stop us booking again I’m afraid.

What a fantastic find.

The pictures don’t do it justice. Immaculately clean and everything you could possibly need, provided. Fabulous view over the high street and a stones throw from the beach. We took our grandchildren who loved the easy, safe access for their crabbing expeditions. Comfortable beds to end perfect days….even if the winds threatened to blow us off the pier.! Thank you for the milk and cake…and also the amazing ice cream.

We have stayed in a few properties like this including in Bristol and Barmouth last year and this was the best so far. Everywhere was spotless, the kitchen was so well equipped and the complimentary ice cream is a lovely touch which the kids enjoyed. If anything I think the online ad doesn't do the apartment justice, it's much more spacious than we expected and the history of the building is fascinating. We are happy to recommend this property and would like to return again in the future.

We stayed at Above Deck the last week of August and overall had a super lovely stay.

Pros - Super clean, very comfortable, very well furnished, kitchen has everything you need (plus kitchen spray/foil - those little extras which is great!), great sized apartment overall, and the free ice cream for us all went down very well with the children! Cons - Parking was sometimes a pain, but there is the green/by the bowling green for overnight stays (and a plus was EV charging at the Leisure Centre which was handy for us). The main area for us was the noise… Sat (of Bank Holiday weekend) was very noisy from a pub who were playing very loud music/people shouting etc until very late, then general traffic noise but you are on the Main Street in Beaumaris and we do live in the countryside in a small village so it depends what your used to!

An amazing property, right in the heart of town.

Very unique older property done to a good modern standard. Everything was thought of and the kitchen was well equipped. The bathroom is very small and quite a distance from the upstairs bedrooms. It was quite a squeeze getting past the queues to the icecream shop downstairs. We had an amazing stay.

Overall a nice a place to stay and we did have a good time however we had a few issues during our stay.

The WIFI is public WIFI and not suitable as continuously kicks you off. Only one key provided for the door and the front door had to remain locked at all times before and after shop closing as it access to shop also, this was restrictive when you want to do different things. Finally the noise from the pub was horrific over the bank holiday weekend we stayed. The noise went on from 10pm to 4am every night making it impossible to sleep. Whilst this is not the owners fault I do feel it should be mentioned in the advert so you can make the choice. A nice touch by the owners was the free ice cream that was left. The kitchen is well equipped, the lounge is bright and the log fire is lovely, the bathroom is a bit small.

We had a lovely time staying at the apartment at New year.

Shame they cancelled the new year fire works. We walked across to the pier and brought the new year in there. Great atmosphere. It was do quirky with all the wooden beams. Would defently stay again

Very well appointed and clean apartment, centrally located in the High Street, but didn't find it noisy.

Nice period beams in the upstairs bedrooms. Great space in living areas, large separate dining room and fantastic kitchen. We have stayed in many properties in Beaumaris and this is up there. So nothing to fault, we moved a couple of table lamps into the living room to make is cosier vs large ceiling lights, would benefit from an additional sofa. Also bathroom was fine, but if you are a larger person you may struggle!
