What guests are saying
We had a lovely stay in this cottage, no problems with on-street parking & Beaumaris was lovely & walkable.
Cottage equipped with everything you would need for a stay. We struggled with getting full tv access but that could have been an “us” problem. Only thing I’d highlight if you’re visiting with a dog, the back courtyard garden is shared with the house next door, it’s still a secure area, and we strategically moved some garden furniture to ensure our dog stayed on our side of the house.
Positives: Good shower, good heating & hot water, good oven/hob, fridge freezer.
Negatives : Generally the decor was of a poor standard, flaking paint in main bedroom, the whole property needs a mini refurb including new wooden flooring as this is lifting in hall and kitchen. The TV in the lounge is cheap and has free view which we couldn't get to work so had no live TV, messy cables and TV upstairs didn't work at all, again with messy cables. Surely, a smart tv should be the norm nowadays, when you are asking the rental costs that you are. Garden is shared which we didn't know and may not have stayed if we had, as it didn't feel private. Also the outside area is very unkempt, lots of weeds, broken pots and old furniture, with no parasol which should be a must. The gutters were full of weeds and the rear windows are desperate to be cleaned. We have taken pictures should you dispute our feedback. The mattress in the main bedroom was very cheap, and you could hear the springs pop when you moved. After stripping the bed before we left we noticed a large stain on the mattress also. Toilet seat in small bathroom moved and wasn't secure, and the seat in the main bathroom did not fit the toilet. Generally, the place needs some tlc but could be amazing, like the property next door seems!
The cottage was absolutely filthy.
There were dead flies on the carpet, large cobwebs throughout the whole property. We had to wash all the crockery, cutlery and glassware before use as it was disgusting. Also, someone had left dirty washing in the washing machine that we washed. Informed Sykes of these problems and they are not interested and we have been very good customers of theirs.
