However, the biggest disappointment was the bathroom which was incongruous with the rest of the cottage and needed a complete refurbishment. It smelt terrible, there were no bath towel rails, no shelves, the shower attachment was broken, the sealant around the bath was mouldy and worst of all, the toilet did not flush properly. It was quite stressful using the bathroom. Finally, we would have appreciated a fan due to the hot weather. Unfortunately, we regret to say that we wouldn’t stay at Pippin Cottage again. Shame.
Thank you for your feedback, we pride ourselves on very high standards and usually receive 5* ratings for cleanliness. Had you have spoken with us we could have dealt with any issues immediately and would have preferred to do so.
We have removed the mop and bucket, however a modern slimline hoover and clothes airer is there for guest convenience. In 16 years no one has complained about this and we have many repeat visitors.
The very slight markings of mould on the silicon have now gone, we apologise for this, a little Cilit Bang did the trip, we have spoken with our cleaning company. We have tightened the screw on the second shower head and it is now performing as per its intended use.
We are staying in the property this week ourselves and confirm there is no issue with the toilet flush and there is no smell so I’m not sure what you found stressful in using the bathroom? . It’s modern, clean and fully functioning and therefore does not require a refit.
