“A lovely location, with a charming, although cold and muddy, garden and a spacious house.”
Unfortunately, our stay there was not enjoyable. It started with the lack of Wi-Fi and the TV in the living room, which barely worked and, even when it turned on, nothing functioned properly.
The bathrooms, towels, and bedding were clean, but the dishes in the cupboards were dirty, and the dishwasher did not clean properly either. The owner provides a barbecue and expects guests to leave it cleaned, yet there were absolutely no cleaning supplies available, not even a brush to clean the grill.
However, the biggest issue was the neighbours and an older lady who kept threatening us with fines for being in the garden at night.
We were a group of friends with children. Around 9 pm the children went to sleep, and we stayed outside in the garden talking, laughing, and using the jacuzzi. There was no music and no alcohol involved, just normal conversation and laughter, and we were trying to stay relatively quiet because the children were sleeping inside. Despite this, the neighbours seemed very offended by our presence.
The next morning, the lady from the neighbouring house threatened us with financial penalties, told us we should apologise to the neighbours, and treated us as if we were somehow inferior, which she made very clear. She also strongly emphasised that the barbecue had to be cleaned perfectly because otherwise the owner would be angry. This situation completely ruined our stay.
To make matters worse, the jacuzzi only worked for half of the stay. Later it was switched off completely, it did not heat up and the bubbles could not be turned on.
Also, when we arrived, the jacuzzi seemed clean, but there was sand at the bottom.
Although the place has potential and is visually charming, I would not recommend it. It is simply not worth the stress and unpleasant treatment.
