We have just spent a fantastic week at the cottage.

From the moment we set foot in the door we felt at home, the cottage is so welcoming and very comfortable. A great deal of thought has gone into providing excellent accommodation with everything you could possibly need for a perfect stay, including a welcome pack for us and treats etc for our dog. The beds are very comfortable and all aspects of the property are clean and well maintained. The owner is most helpful and considerate. It’s an excellent base for exploring the Snowdonia area. We would definitely recommend this lovely cottage to everyone we know.

We had a lovely family weekend stay with our two little dogs.

The cottage was beautiful and had everything needed for a break away. Perfect spot if you're getting away for some peace and quiet with a view. The owner gave us lots information about the area and places to eat which was great. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed at Garreg Ddu for 4 nights.

The cottage is so cozy, very clean and has everything you need and so much more. All the furnishings are good quality and the cottage is very well equipped and spotless clean. The beds are very comfortable , the linen so soft. The central heating is very responsive, it heats the full cottage very quickly. The location is stunning and quiet, a very good starting point for your adventure in Snowdonia. The host is very attentive, providing you with everything you need during your stay and lots of information about the surrounding area. It was a great holiday for us, we truly enjoyed our stay and we would certainly come back.

The cottage is extremely well equipped and comfortable.

The kitchen in particular has everything you need and the shower is amazing. The soft furnishings are top quality and very comfy. Caroline is a first class host who has an obvious pride in her cottage and the surrounding area

A gorgeous place.

Very comfy bed, lush shower, and lounge is beautifully decorated. Location is great as there's a Co-op around the corner and a pub within a few minutes walk. Loved it.

Absolutely beautiful property, we had an amazing time.

It’s close enough to snowdon if you want to climb it and zip world is just around the corner which is definitely worth a visit! Would definitely recommend staying here.

What a lovely cozy property, furnished to a high spec and lovingly prepared to ensure guests have the best stay ever!

This was an exceptionally well presented and extremely welcoming place.

The owners made extensive efforts to help us locate the address and made it even more welcoming by erecting numerous sets of christmas lights and an unusual christmas tree. The battery powered lights had all been switched on and added to the welcoming feel. Everything supplied was clean, fresh and even tea and coffee making facilties were provided Thankyou for a lovely short break.

Caroline was a fantastic host, when we arrived it was dark and the cottage looked lovely with all the Xmas lights on, when we entered it was warm and cosy as the heating was on, the books that was left for us regarding cycling and walking was very helpful also leaving us a cover to store the bike inside and a dog guard for the stair.

The cottage was very clean, cosy, very homely fully equipped with great WiFi, we would recommend this cottage.

Lovely host and gorgeous accommodation.

They have literally thought of everything. It was the perfect place to spend Christmas. The dogs loved snoozing in front of the fire after days exploring the local area. Would definitely recommend and will definitely book again in the future.

Garreg Dhu is a beautiful cottage with everything you could need for a holiday.

Caroline the owner has thought of everything. Extremely comfortable beds and dog friendly also. There is a small secure yard for the dogs and throws for the furniture. We had a lovely week here despite poor weather. We would highly recommend Garreg Dhu.

The cottage was stunning, extremely clean and well maintained.

The host sent out lots of helpful information before we arrived and send an email to check everything was ok on the first evening. The beds were very comfortable and the whole cottage was spacious.

The cottage is attractive, comfortable, well stocked with many products and equipment, including a welcome pack.

Caroline, the owner, was great with both communication and suggestions. She went out of her way to welcome our two small dogs, with towels, treats and suggested walks. Snowdonia is a beautiful area, particularly enjoyed Harlech, Porthmadog and Bets-y-Coed, where the sun shone!

Beautiful cottage, very comfortable

This cottage has WOW factor in our opinion.

It has beautiful part exposed slate wall interior exposed in places. The furnishings are extremely comfortable and on a cold dark wintry evening the wood burner (easy to light) is fabulous. Overall, an extremely comfortable cottage which was exceptionally clean on arrival.

A cottage that I would be happy to stay in wherever it was in the world.

The owner was also helpful and put herself out to assist us too.

It was really warm, best kitchen for equipment, lots of homely touches and more spacious than the photos can show. Although no designated parking it wasn't an issue for whole week. Caroline's communication was exceptional- as was the level of cleanliness. Could not fault. Thank you

Garreg Ddu is a cosy, lovely decorated and very complete cottage.

It had everything we needed and was situated in an ideal spot for all the activities we wanted to do in the Snowdonia area. The welcoming touch of milk and cookies for us and treats for our dog were very nice. We would defenitely reccomend staying at Garreg Ddu, we loved it!

Great stay in Blaenau Ffestiniog in this lovely little cottage, ideal location for mountain biking, hiking, with zip world 5 minutes up the road.

The cottage was fully equipped and had very good facilities including tumble dryer washing machine etc. Very traditional interior with slate walls, with the added bonus of modern facilities and a wood burning stove for cosy cold evenings. We met the owner before check-in, who gave us a tour with top tips to make our stay more enjoyable!.

A beautiful cottage with comfortable sofas and beds.

Excellent quality linen and furnishings and very well equipped. Fabulous location with access to many wonderful places within easy car journey. No problems parking and very friendly neighbours. we had a wonderful stay.

A very comfortable and well looked after cottage in a good position in the centre of Blaenau Ffestiniog.

The cottage was beautiful and well set out, it was nicely decorated and furnished, clean and very welcoming.

It is clear that the owner went to a lot of effort to make sure our stay was a perfect and pleasurable one, she provided everything you could think of and much more. The owner was extremely helpful sending information to us before our visit regarding the cottage, directions on how to find it, local shops and places to visit, in addition to this she left loads of leaflets in the cottage which we found very useful. The owner also provided lots of things for our dog, which we thought was a lovely touch.

Perfectly located for the activities we had booked, especially Zipworld Llechwedd, which was only a 4 minute drive away. Caroline Sent over information of places to visit including CellB which was just across the road, we went over for pizza and to the cinema to see Wicked

From the first communication from the host Caroline, to arrival in the most beautiful Cottage that Caroline had decorated for Christmas for us. We had an amazing stay in a home from home with all the amenities of home. Everything we needed was there and more. Caroline went above and beyond and I and the rest of the party are most grateful. In a heartbeat I would stay here again. Nothing was too much trouble and Caroline genuinely cares about her guests. We had a brilliant relaxed week and WILL stay again. Thanks Caroline!!!

Fantastic cottage with a lovely homely feel in a quiet built up street.

All modern features, fixtures and fittings but retaining its rustic charm including an amazing log burner. The owner is super helpful which is a great touch. The cottage is on a narrow street and where we found parking easy, we did meet cars coming in the opposite direction a few times. Where the village has pubs they do not offer food, but there are a number of food serving pubs approx 25 mins away in neighbouring villages and in Porthmadog. There are a number of take aways and cafes serving excellent breakfasts all within easy walking distance. Overall a lovely cottage for your touring base.

The accommodation was fabulous and the owner thought of everything to made our stay perfect, cannot recommend this too highly. The location was spot on to visit surrounding area’s and close to some beautiful beaches. Definitely would return.

A gem of a property, and easily the best we have stayed in to date booked via Sykes.

The property was spotless and excellently maintained throughout. The kitchen was well equipped with everything needed for a self catered stay. A nice touch was the Welcome Pack We met Caroline(Property Owner) on arrival who gave us a warm welcome. The property is ideally situated to visit many of the Snowdonia National Park attractions We will certainly return when we next visit North Wales

A beautiful, clean, cosy and welcoming cottage.

Having just retired this was the perfect getaway, we loved the exposed slate walls, inviting wood burner (not needed on this visit) and the enclosed garden for the dog. The beds are comfy with top end bedding and towels provided. Thank you for the welcome tray and treats. The cottage is an ideal base to explore the beautiful Welsh mountains, valleys and scenery where we met friendly walkers and lots of other dogs on our days out. You are never far from the coastline either so something for everyone. Thank you Caroline!

Had a lovely chilled stay at Garreg Ddu, beautiful cottage in a good location with gorgeous view of the mountains, beautifully decorated, had everything we needed.

Caroline provided everything required for our two dogs, throws, blankets, bowls etc and a lovely welcome pack for us. It was great to come back to the lovely log burner on a rainy day. Shower is amazing. We don't drive but it was easy to get round on public. Definitely recommend.

My wife and I stayed in this stunning cottage for 3 days.

The place is fantastic, so neat and tidy with everything you can possibly need for your break. Loved the layout of the place, making it really cosy on evenings chilling by the fire after a day exploring the area. Location is brilliant with lots of attractions nearby and the scenery is as breathtaking as it gets. There’s some lovely touches with a welcome pack and twinkly lights as you enter making it very welcoming. This was a great find for us and we will be back

Caroline's communication was timely and very helpful.

The cottage was very well prepared for our arrival and we were impressed by attention to detail in the way it was furnished and equipped... lots of nice little touches.

Caroline has thought of everything.

There were so many extra touches including electric blankets, cake and Prosecco, and a fabulous shower. Sadly we were only staying for two days so didn’t get to appreciate fully. It really is a lovely property maintained to an excellent standard. The only negatives (beyond Caroline’s control) are the on street parking and lack of green space near to house for dog walking for that first/last comfort break of the day. It is down a very tight cul-de-sac with a community type residential/social building opposite. Parking is on a first come basis so if you are out for day it may be difficult to park back near the property. Also I don’t think you need to send a text at 9am to remind me to leave by 10am. I know you were probably stressed by the turnaround time but I found that quite irritating.

This is a wonderful place, very well equipped, modernised, comfortable, warm and a very welcoming host.

The location is very practical, with great walks at the door step or near all the great sights in Eryri.

Superb stay!

Beautiful beautiful cottage retaining original features (the floor and exposed slate walls are amazing!) Kitchen was really well equipped, very comfortable bed, cosy sitting room and a wonderful real log burning stove which was great to be sat in front of when the rain was lashing down outside! Would I come back? 100%!

Weather wasn't great so it was lovely to sit in front of the log burner in the evening. Caroline provided a welcoming gift and lots of information on places to see.

We stayed as 2 couples with two small dogs, everything was perfect. Host provided little extras, a bottle of fizz and a lovely fruit cakes, also milk, sugar, tea and coffee which were greatly appreciated after our long drive x thanks Caroline, we will be back x

Really lovely stay in a well thought out accommodation.

The kitchen is well provisioned with plenty of utensils and oils and herbs for cooking! Plenty of leaflets to help you plan activities and the living area has books and games for you on an evening. We didn't spend much time in the cottage as we were exploring but felt it was a great base to stay and we loved the fact that the cottage has retained its rustic feel whilst being modernised. Caroline is a great host and we hope to return to North Wales in the future. Really pleased with our choice of accommodation and also happy to have gone with Sykes. The booking process was easy and Caroline gave us lots of useful information before our stay.

Such a beautiful cosy cottage, myself,my husband and 2 pooches thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Garreg Ddu.

The log fire was a bonus, which we lit every night! We will be back.

The property is situated in a quiet cul de sac just off the main High Street and is within easy walking distance of local pubs, supermarkets and take aways.

The property has been renovated to a high standard and offers very good quality accommodation, but feels like a genuine cosy cottage with exposed stone walls and a log burner.

A lovely comfortable cottage, in good location for exploring North Wales inland, and coastal areas are all within 40 minutes drive.

Close to Snowdonia railway and many castles. Lots of places to visit within short drive. Cottage is very nicely presented, with everything you need.

The house was immaculate, cosy and quiet, and it’s well situated for pubs, shopping and the station. Blaenau itself is set in an amazing location and the locals were very friendly- I don’t know if I’ve ever walked into a pub and had everyone in there say hello to me like they knew me, true “Cheers” moment!

We have just got back after a wonderful 4 nights away at Garreg Ddu with our two dogs.

We couldn’t have felt more welcome, the goodies were appreciated by both the humans and the dogs. Caroline had excellent communication with us before and throughout our stay and sent us loads of recommendations of places to visit and eat before we arrived which was much appreciated. There’s even a parking permit you can use which came in very handy. The cottage is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, warm, cozy and really spacious - the pictures don’t do it justice. The bed was super comfy and even had an electric blanket. Everything you could possibly need is provided and is very dog friendly! The garden is very secure which is always a worry for us with large dogs who can jump. The house is in a great location, walking distance to a few shops but very quiet and parking was easy. Overall, the nicest cottage we have stayed in over the years - a real home away from home, our only complaint is that we didn’t stay longer! Thankyou for a perfect few days away and hope to return soon.

This is a beautiful, comfy, cosy really well equipped cottage.

The owner Caroline goes over and above to make sure you are well informed and have everything you need. She is only a phone call away if you need her. Bleanau is a good base but if you like eating out unfortunately there are no pubs/restaurants in the village. Plenty of takeaways. However Caroline will recommend some pubs serving lovely food in villages about 10 to 20 mins away. We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend this cottage.

Excellent, overwhelmed as soon as we opened the door, far exceeded our expectations.

Could not think of nothing that could be added to improve stay. Beds and bedding are so comfy and host is very warm and friendly. Would definitely return.

The cottage is beautiful we couldn’t have asked for more .

It’s 4 minutes from the zip wire and underground golf , 25 minutes from Portmerion and very near to all the other attractions . We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it to our friends and family. The owner of the cottage is also very helpful and accommodating .

We had a fabulous stay at Garreg Ddu.

One of or maybe even possibly one of the best cottages we’ve stayed in! The owner, Caroline has put everything you need into the cottage and her dedication to making sure you have an enjoyable stay is evident. The communication from Caroline before you stay is excellent and all questions she answers with her information sheets that are in the house and emailed prior to your stay. She even includes a parking disc that you can use in some local council operated car parks which saved us a small fortune in car parking charges. The garden is ideal for dogs as it’s very secure. The location of the cottage is quiet but very close to all the village amenities and an ideal base for Snowdonia. Thanks for allowing us to stay and bring our dogs. The little doggie extras (poo bags, throws, treats etc is an excellent touch) and the traditional Bara Brith was very much enjoyed by the humans!

Everything was as described, very clean and comfortable and well equipped. Caroline, the owner, was lovely and easy to reach by phone. We would 100% recommend. It's a good location as well, supermarket and bakery around the corner.

The owner Caroline added so many personal touches to what was already a beautiful and comfortable cottage.

My husband loves to cook and found there was everything he needed on the well equipped kitchen. Our dogs were very at home too with lots of doggy extras. Thank you very much Caroline :)

Pretty much in the town centre. Owner had excellent communication and has thought of all the little things that make a cottage holiday great--including snacks for our dog. Can recommend Y Manod pub in town, currently not serving food but definitely the friendliest we've been in. Lots of walks nearby.

Perfect home away from home to explore north wales.

The property was well equipped and comfortable and the log fire was the perfect way to relax after a long walk around Snowdon. Caroline was an amazing host and very attentive. The little welcome package was a nice touch and the bottle of Prosecco went down a treat after conquering Snowdon. We will definitely be staying at Garreg Ddu again in the future.

Our recent stay in this lovely cottage has been exceptional.

The owner Caroline provides all information required for you stay and is there at the end of a line if needed. The cottage is spotless, the furnishings are to a high class and little extras included to make your stay fabulous. Covers for the settees if you take your beloved pooch, a welcome pack for the Guests and your pooch has its own welcome bag( with everything u need) All instructions for appliances are provided by E mail. The bed linen is luxury and Caroline provides wash baskets for you to use on your stay and bedding is popped in these on the day you leave. The local Co Op is just around the corner. The cottage is peaceful and tranquil so you can enjoy a day out walking and relax with an open fire and a film at night with Netflix. I would like to thank Caroline for her wonderfully presented cottage and we will return. I had the best 50th birthday week ever. I left without filling the guest book in so I apologise for that. We spent a week here with our two dogs over Easter & we didn’t want for anything.

The cottage was lovely, homely, and well stocked! The kitchen had everything you could want for a weeks holiday plus more. Caroline had even thought of things for the dogs so they wouldn’t have to go without it we’d forgotten anything. The parking pass was a well used and appreciated extra, being able to visit various parts of Wales without having to think about parking or costs! It was beautiful to be able to sit outside in the sun and enjoy the views, with amazing walks, the pub, the shop & plenty of takeaways on your doorstep - the burrito place is a must visit & only a 3 minute walk!

Everything you could possibly need and more. Absolutely spotless and a lovely welcome pack of eggs, milk, cake and a bottle of Prosecco. Super hosts, thanks to Julia who went above and beyond to help after a disastrous journey down to wales. 15-20 minutes walk to zip world where the kids had a fantastic time in the caverns (a bit like go ape but underground). Train station 5 minutes walk away too. Can’t recommend this cottage enough.

We have really enjoyed our holiday at this amazing beautiful and very comfy cottage.

Everything is really good quality. The owner - Caroline- has met us at the door, showed around and provided with recommendations of where to walk and cycle. Even the things for our dog were thought about!! Fresh eggs, milk, delicious Cake and Prosseco were also enjoyed and appreciated by us, a lovely touch. We can't say Thank You enough and will definitely be back.

Beautiful cottage in a town rich with history nestled below the famous slate quarry.

I highly recommend Garreg Ddu to anyone who is wanting a restful getaway from hectic city life. Caroline the owner is so welcoming and helpful, she is on hand if you have any questions about the cottage or places to go to visit. The cottage has a very helpful pack containing lots of information on places to explore, eat and the local attractions; the copper mine, Zip World, museum etc. The cottage is half an hour away from mount Snowdon and situated on the edge of Snowdonia national park. Perfectly situated for hiking and lovely walks. I highly recommend this cottage, it is a gem of a find.

Just loved this georgous slate cottage, furnished so that we felt like we had arrived home, cosy but modern and with so many little extra details.

Truly this cottage had everything we could have asked for. Caroline was amazingly helpful and genuinely cared that we had a lovely stay. The cottage is in a great, central location and everything we wanted to do was easily accessed. We really didn’t want to lleave.

A lot of thought has gone into this place. The organisation and the contact before and throughout our stay and the info packs have been exemplary. We’ll definitely be returning when we come back to the area. Some previous reviewers mentioned the parking, no concerns here, if you can manoeuvre your car in a shopping centre car park you can make it in and out of here. Local food recommendation; Golden Mountain is possibly the best Chinese takeaway I’ve ever had!

Lovely traditional cottage converted very well into a beautiful cosy interior.

It was clean and fresh and Julia provided lovely welcome gifts and messaged us to make sure we had everything we needed. The fire was made ready to light and we settled in nicely. We were lucky with the weather and so there was lots of walking in the mountains. Thankyou to Julia who provided lots of information for our stay.

We had a fantastic stay at Garreg Ddu in October, despite the torrential rain!

The property itself is beautifully clean, well equipped & cosy & the perfect base for so many activities around Snowdonia. The host has thought of everything, particularly if you are taking a dog, with sofa covers, blankets & even dog treats. I would recommend having a look in the book the host has provided with suggested dog walks around Snowdonia, we found some fantastic walks. The welcome pack with milk, eggs, Prosecco & Barra Brith (traditional Welsh cake) was a lovely touch. Cell B cinema across the road in the old police station is brilliant, particularly if you are in the 2nd screen. It’s like a huge living room & you can take your own bottle of wine if you’d like! All & all a fantastic holiday in a beautiful property. Would highly recommend. Linsey

Garreg Ddu is a beautiful, well equipped cottage.

The only reason I have not rated it as 5 is due to the parking. The cottage is in a narrow cul-de-sac with on street parking and a small lay-by. The spaces fill up very quickly. Caroline the owner was very helpful and friendly during our stay and recommend local places to visit and eat. She also provided a lovely welcome pack which included milk, cake and Prosecco! The local shops, cafes and take aways are less than 5 minutes walk from the cottage but evening dining is very limited. I think this is due to Covid as the local pub/hotel was closed the whole time we were there.

The cottage was warm and cosy.

The home owner was extremely welcoming and provided a lot of assistance not only for navigations, but to help us get parking easier (she stayed in a car space til late evening so that we had a higher chance of arriving with a space available), and also gave us ideas as to what to do on our mini trip.

As it was my birthday as well, Caroline left a lovely bottle of Prosecco for us to enjoy! It was a lovely get away and I will be hoping to book with her again.

We had Cake and a bottle of Prosecco left chilling in the fridge for our arrival. Even Dave the dog was catered for, with blankets, for the sofa and dog treats.The owner Caroline was so helpful in advising us of places to visit during our stay and so thoughtful recommending places to visit according to the weather forecast. I would highly recommend this cottage for anyone wanting to visit the beautiful welsh countryside and all of its attractions.

This cottage was very comfortable and had all the mod cons that you would have at home but with a really cosy holiday feel.

The living area was very cosy with a freeview digital tv including netflix. The kitchen was well stocked and had dishwasher and washing machine. Main bathroom downstairs had a great shower and another toilet upstairs. Heating was easy to use and worked well. Couldn’t use the front garden as rained throughout our stay but had nice seats to sit out when sunny. Only difficulty was parking and road being really tight.

What an absolutely beautiful cottage - it was spotlessly clean, full of home comforts just a wonderful place to stay - we were welcomed with milk and Prosecco in the fridge, a lovely cake and even treats for our 2 dogs. Caroline the owner was in touch to welcome us and told us of places to visit and gave us recommendations for places to eat out and get takeaways. Would highly recommend. Garreg Ddu is a wonderful cottage ideally located to explore Snowdonia and North Wales.

The photos do not exaggerate - it is has been tastefully decorated to suit the area but with a modern twist. The booking with Sykes was seemless and the owner fantastic, caring and has clearly put a lot of time and attention to detail in kitting out the cottage for everyone's needs to provide an excellent stay.

The cottage was absolutely stunning and extremely comfortable.

Everything in the cottage was of the highest standard and quality too. The owner was very welcoming and had thought of everything to make our stay so enjoyable and even showed me one of her favourite places to walk. I can’t wait to go back for another visit!

The cottage was beautifully clean and equipped with everything we could need for a super holiday. Two tips for future visitors 1. Bring slippers as downstairs is tile/stone flooring. Hand and bath towels provided but if you like a big bath sheet you will need to bring your own.

This house is such a perfect home-from-home.

We spent the days hiking and it was so nice to get back to a warm welcoming house in the evenings - with a log burning fire and the best shower I think I’ve ever used. Caroline made some really nice touches, leaving a welcome bag for the dog with treats and sofa covers so she could join us for a cuddle in the evening. She also helped us find places to eat nearby and left really clear instructions for arrival and departure. The house is very clean and the kitchen is well equipped, Caroline really has thought of everything to make the stay as easy as possible. Overall a lovely, lovely stay!

This really is a beautiful little cottage, we booked here as a way to finish of the festive season and we weren’t disappointed!

We were greeted by Caroline the owner despite the fact that our arrival was quite late. She is so welcoming and helpful, explaining everything and giving information about local attractions and things nearby. Caroline gave us a bottle of Prosecco, some freshly baked bread from the local bakery and tea fresh milk for tea and Coffee. The house is beautiful! So well decorated, spotlessly clean with really comfy beds. We had a dog with us and Caroline had gotten her some treats too! The house was still decorated for Christmas, and we later sat by the log burner and enjoyed a glass of Prosecco. It was nothing short of perfect! I would highly recommend staying here, not only is the house beautiful but the surroundings are very picturesque. And blaneau Ffestiniog is a lovely area with pubs, a cinema close by, some restaurants and takeaways nearby. We would have loved to have explored the area more but the weather wasn’t the best, I would love to return in the summer. The people of this area are also extremely friendly! I would definitely recommend Garreg Ddu and would love to return myself, thank you Caroline!

We had a fantastic time here The cottage is in a great location and is exactly as described.

The interior is of a very high standard and we were all very impressed with it. The cleanliness was second to none and it has everything that we required. The owner was extremely helpful and always on hand should we need anything. We would definitely recommend without hesitation.

The owner of the cottage is absolutely lovely.

She welcomed us to the cottage with mulled wine and a tasty treat from the local baker. She had provided us with Fresh local bread, milk and Prosecco and even brought the dog some treats. The cottage is even better than the photos on the website and it was even decorated for Christmas. The cottage had everything you needed and more. The wood burner was a treat on evenings in front of the t.v. The location of the cottage is set in beautiful surroundings with mountains everywhere you look. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

Had a lovely week in Garreg Du with our two little ones (7 & 9) Though there is not much happening in Blaenea Ffestiniog, the location is really very central to explore North Wales.

The cottage is located right in the Centre of BF and very convenient to walk to the local shops. The cottage is done to a very high standard and the owner, Caroline, is absolutely fabulous. She met us on the day of arrival and explained things around the house and even gave us top tips on places to visit and eat at. She even brought us some delicious goodies! We definitely recommend staying at Garreg du and can't wait to go back again!

We had an amazing week in North Wales.

Every place we went to was stunning. The cottage was lovely and extremely comfortable. The owner couldnt have been more helpful with tips of where to go /eat. We had our lab with us snd there was a sofa cover provided so he could cuddle up in the evening. Would definitely recommend this cottage.

Its beautifully decorated throughout with quality appliances and furnishings to match. It’s ideally situated for many of the attractions in Snowdonia.The Ffestiniog steam railway station is less than a 5 minute walk way which we loved.We had a couple of evenings when we were able to enjoy the sun until 8pm out the front.Although the property is amongst other houses we found it be pretty quiet and peaceful. The owner Caroline is an amazing host and genuinely wants to make your stay as perfect as possible.She was there to meet us when we arrived and provided us with lots of useful advise.She definitely went the extra mile when we asked if it was possible to walk to Porthmadog and the very next day sent us a email with a possible route. Also the welcome gifts were lovely... Bara bri, Welsh butter ,Prosecco and fresh flowers! Would highly recommend Garegg Ddu as a base if you want explore all snowdonia has to offer.

Caroline went to great lengths to make our visit perfect. The little touches including the bottle of cava and barabrith was so thoughtful. Everything ouzed quality so much thought given to every holiday makers needs. The location was perfect for visiting all the places we had planned to go to. We would highly recommend this property. We stayed to do a charity walk up Snowdon (which we completed) it was nice not to have a long journey home after and it was very handy having the CoOp around the corner. The fire and bed were lovely.

Plenty off things to do in the area. We found this cottage very comfortable the beds are good quality as is most things in the cottage very well equipped. We met with the owner and she went through all we needed to know on arrival there was milk and a very welcoming bottle of presseco which was a nice touch. We certainly would recommend this place we were a group of four with 2 dogs we will return.

A fabulous little cottage, the perfect place for us to get away for a week!

One of the nicest cottages we have ever stayed in.

Located on a very quiet and unassuming street, we were blown away by the stunning interior of Garreg Ddu! The slate walls, great furniture and subtle, tasteful decor and fabulous woodturning stove made this one of our most cosy and comfortable stays in Wales ever. The kitchen was fantastic, the main bed supremely comfortable and the downstairs shower room was an absolute joy. Blaenau Ffestiniog is a perfect location with plenty of facilities and friendly shopkeepers. Ideally situated for all that North Wales has to offer and perfect for cycling, as long as you don't mind hills! The owner Caroline is a lovely lady for whom nothing is too much trouble and we're really looking forward to going back.
