Old Station Cottage

The Cottage was lovely but upstairs was a little crampt.

The kitchenn was well equipped and the cottage was very clean. The area is quirky with lots of old mines to explore.

We had a lovely stay at Old Station Cottage,everything was clean and tidy,and very comfy beds,just what we needed ,we will definitely be back

A cosy little cottage in the perfect area for exploring Wales.

Well equipped with everything you could possibly need. We discovered the Old slate Mine and waterfall at Cwmorthin quarry. We also got to visit amazing castles (Conwy being the currently favourite) plus we managed to fit in a chilly but sunny day on Snowdon. Thank you very much. We loved our stay.

Cottage was lovely and everything you needed

We stayed at Bridgeway Cottage for 1 week.

The weather was glorious and this cottage was well situated for exploring Snowdonia. It is good value and the owners and housekeeper both contacted us via email and text to make sure everything was ok.The house was cosy and well equipped, the washing machine and tumble dryer were a big plus as travelling as four adults meant limited luggage space! The Co Op is very close and we drove a short while to eat at The Grapes or The Oakley Arms in the evenings. Both highly recommend with quality food and big portions! We enjoyed our holiday at Bridgeway Cottage.

First time stay at bridge way house We stopped for 2 weeks we always stay a lot in north wales and around Blaenau Ffestiniog.

As I’m a high standard lodge cleaner myself . This cottage wasn’t the best of cleanest could do with a deep clean . Food crumbs all over the work tops. Microwave hadn’t been cleaned inside. All cupboard doors handles and front of cupboard doors dirty could do with a clean and there was dirty plates and utensils put away . The cleaner should be checking everything before next guests arrive. Dirty light switches. I decided to wash the bedding after the first week the mattress protector was stained these need changing on every change over day. Toilet seat was dirty on the inside feces on it Can’t use the outside tap. The shed needs sorting out lots of junk inside. Front door needs sorting out hard to open and close it and the back door isn’t good either. There are weeds outside the front could do with diy and maintenance same out the back decking could do with a paint .could do with some blinds as overlooked from the hotel over the road . Could do with some black out curtains or blind in the bedroom as the street lights stay on all night can see light coming through at night. Very comfortable bed. . A good recliner armchair. Washing machine leaking. Recommend of a hair dryer and a barbecue. There was only 3 bath towels left out for the 2 weeks. The owner did message me the cleaner/house keeper was going to drop off new saucepans and utensils one night . If things need replacing cleaner should be checking things and be replaced before new guests arrive on the change over day. Very well equipped. 1 toilet roll left out on 2 weeks stay . Lots of cupboards or drawers can’t used the bedrooms got paddocks on them. A good location Would stay here again close to the shops takeaways cafes and a hotel

Great little cottage, very well placed for visiting numerous attractions in the area.

Everything was comfortable and it has the all important (for Wales) washing machine and tumble dryer. We were able to leave our second car parked in the driveway and take advantage of the free 4pm to 10am parking opposite for our other car.

We had a great stay.

Perfect location close to Antur Stiniog with everything that we needed. The only issue was the tight driveway access so we couldn’t get the van parked, so that could perhaps be made clearer in the description.

Well placed cottage for touring N Wales - Anglesey, Snowdonia, Betws y Coed, Port Meirion.

Ffestiniog railway 2 minutes walk. Morrisons Daily, Co-op and takeaway all within 5 minutes walk. Spotlessly clean, small but beautifully formed. Everything needed for your stay - well equipped kitchen inc cafetiere. Full sized fridge, freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. Nicely and newly decorated, powerful shower!! Packet of welsh cakes and milk on arrival. Locking and opening the front door requires some effort as you need to pull quite hard on handle to enable you to turn the key - definitely a 2 handed operation. The back door leads out onto a set of steep steps up to sitting area which gets the afternoon sun. Agility is the key word for both dogs and humans! For dog owners be aware the front and back areas are not secure but plenty of walking opportunities within locality. Easy to miss cottage on initial drive by as it is set back down a concealed, narrow entry way behind trees. As you enter the road the cottages are behind you to your left - look out for the bright white frontage. You will need to drive in front wise and then reverse back out (about 30 yards). The owners have done a great job of providing a really homely, snug, well maintained cottage. All we needed was a bit more sun!! But, the mountains were spectacular whatever the weather ..............

The cottage was very comfortable. It was well equipped we found everything we needed except we couldn’t find a tin opener but we managed without one. Unfortunately we found Ffestiniog very quiet with not a lot of things to do especially for children. The weather was miserable which didn’t help. I enjoyed the train trip to Porthmadog.

A really warm,modern, well equipped cottage that was the perfect bolt hole after exploring North Wales.

All the activities we had booked were within 50 mins drive, Anglesey, Harlech, Betws Y Coed, Zip Forest, Caernarfon Castle…. The town itself is a little bleak but two good shops within walking distance and we had lovely take aways (pizza, fish & chips, Indian). The pint of milk and Welsh cakes were much appreciated ❤️

Comfortable and cosy cottage, well equipped and a good base to visit lots of other tourists attractions.

The little sun lounge terrace at back of property is a little difficult to access, specially when steps are wet. Our dog had difficulty getting up them and it didn't get the sun in the evening . It would be nice if the front of the property was tidied up a bit. The front of the house could do with a lick of paint and maybe a trellis in front of wheely bins and a few low maintenance plant pots. The sun is at the front in the evening, so it would make it more pleasant to sit outside.

Property in the middle of town and handy for shops. Car can be parked in front of property but extra long vehicles need a bit of shunting. Loved Wales, with highlights being Snowdon and surrounding area, Portmeirion, Anglesey and Betws y coed. Just a brilliant few days

I have never stayed in a cottage before that was so well equipped.

Very comfortable and amazing convenient for shop , train and bus. Very quiet location. Grandchildren well satisfied

We loved this little terraced cottage!

All the facilities we could ever need, with some little extras such as milk and welsh cakes. A comprehensive range of information and a perfect location right in the centre of Blaenau. We had a lovely time, despite the weather, thank you. Hubby struggled to work out how to use the TV remotes but worked it out eventually - maybe some instruction on how to access Sky would be helpful to future holiday makers. There were books, dvds, and games available for use too. Loved that there was a little supermarket just across the road - and people really should try the Kurdish Pasties from the bakery a little further up. A great central location for many sites of interest. We particularly enjoyed Betws-y-coed and Beddgelert. Such pretty villages!!

Cosy cottage nestling in the heart of Blaenau, better than the pictures show.

There's a lovely courtyard area out front for sitting with flowers and bees and birdsong, and the terrace at the back is truly special. The cottage was very clean and comfortable, the only small minus was the water pressure which made showering a little unpredictable. Overall I had a lovely stay and glorious weather, enabling me to go out and explore the fascinating area, walk in the mountains, and rest in the cool shade of the cottage. Loved it! thank you.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable.

The heating was efficient and kept upstairs warm although the living room stayed quite cold (just the nature of the thick walls and being against the hillside). It wasn’t really an issue though as we had the option to light the fire which would have cosied the room up more. Beds were very comfortable. Good shower. Kitchen well equipped. Would have been good to have had full use of wardrobe/ cupboard in front single bedroom but half of it was locked so not quite enough storage. Front door was quite difficult to lock from inside and parking slightly tricky but ok once we got used to it. Sykes responded quickly when we had a problem with the smoke alarm and the housekeeper kindly came out straight away to see if she could help. The location is great for getting around. Recommend the steam train to Porth Madog, the slate cavern tour at zip world, Beddgelert village including copper mine tour, Portmeirion, Harlech Castle and of course Mount Snowdon which was the main reason for our stay. Also lots of interesting walks around Blaenau itself and the Fish and chip shop was good. Overall a good stay and would recommend this cottage.
