Bwthyn Y Bugail

This cottage is a cozy comfortable cottage, situated in a beautiful area of Snowdonia.

With shops pubs and fish shop just along the road. It was very very clean indeed, with lovely crisp cotton bedlinen, the whole property was well kitted out with kitchen appliances, cutlery and crockery. The shower room is well set out a little small but super decor. There is a large double bed and wardrobe with drawer, big enough for 2 people. The second bedroom is in need of hanging space and drawers but has very comfortable beds. There are door hooks. The utility at the back of the cottage is a god send with washer and dryer with all the necessary equipment you need for laundry. The terraced garden, once you get up the steps is beautiful and because we had good weather we were up there many nights during our stay having tea or drinks. A beautiful little cottage, the owners should be proud of what they have achieved, its lovely. However I have to say here that after a very easy booking with sykes cottages, their customer service isnt good. Sykes ask you to use their hub for messages but they take 2 days to reply, they didnt recognise my booking number and if it hadnt been for Dylan and Kirstie who I must say are very caring supporting owners, that my question with sykes would never have been answered. The owners are so lovely and thoughtful, they really want.people to enjoy their stay. If you email sykes they ask you to use the hub, which is then through wattsapp which is near on impossible. Sykes cottages if you are providing a service of lovely properties as those above then you need to get your customer services more easily contactable!! You used to be a friendly company contactable at the end of a phone, it needs sorting!!!

Beautiful, cosy cottage lovingly brought back to life.

Thoughtful, tasteful fixtures & fittings whilst offering every mod con for a comfortable stay. The welcome pack was a lovely touch & we loved curling up in front of the log burner after a day of walking. Loads to do in the surrounding area for all interests - walking, climbing, biking, swimming, history, nature, family activities. Plenty of supermarkets for self catering, cafe's, pubs & restaurants. First time in Wales, would return to this area as very central to everything but would definitely return to this cottage as it's stunning! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Comfortable and cosy, well equipped with all conveniences, nice outdoor patio garden, and a parking space. Pleasant walks and views all around and great local advice from the owner.

It's a brilliant base for so many local walks and attractions and the perfect place to relax after a long walk. We had everything we needed and the welcome basket was a treat!

We had a lovely stay, the cottage is very cosy with everything you need, could not fault the cleanliness it was spotlessly clean, parking is no problem in front of the cottage which is convenient.

The location is perfect to discover north and south snowdonia as well as the coast. Couldn’t fault this place, thanks for a lovely stay.

We booked the cottage as a last minute getaway for a few nights.

When we arrived the cottage was so cozy and welcoming. It is very well equipped throughout. Its in a great location for the railway and there were lots of excellent walks within a 10/15 minutes drive. We would not hesitate to recommend it!

We stayed at this lovely cottage in July.

The cottage has plenty of history, is comfortable & really is a home from home, with all living facilities that you would expect at home. Our whole family loved the cottage, which has been renovated to high standards. The cottage is clean & perfectly placed to visit many seaside towns & other activities, such as walks, pubs & lakes.

We thought the cottage was lovely very comfortable and cosy to make our stay just right.

Everything was provided we needed and it was great for our dog too. The bed was very comfortable and plenty of storage space in the bedrooms.

It was the perfect base for getting to Snowdonia for hiking. The location is idyllic and the cottage is so cozy and clean. Everything you could want is there - I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to have a get away to Wales!

Great stay, great hospitality, great host, great neighbours.

We stayed for 2 nights whilst we climbed Snowdon. We arrived in the afternoon and accessing the property was easy. The property itself is lovely and got all the essentials we needed. We aren’t familiar with the area but after chatting with the neighbours they recommended a great fish and chip shop and Indian just up the road. Although we didn’t get the pleasure of meeting the hosts face to face, the key box entry was brilliant, especially as we weren’t sure exactly what time we would be arriving or leaving. Whilst we didn’t meet the host face to face, they were extremely helpful on WhatsApp! Overall great stay, we’ll be staying again and recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in wales.

I didn’t want to write this review but as the owners are no longer willing to co operate with us or Sykes we unfortunately have no other option.

We didn’t even stay one night in this cottage! When we got there, there was faeces and urine on the toilet seat and under the lid. The shower had other people’s old shower gel and conditioner smeared on the tiles and shower screen. There was food in the kitchen sink. One of the towels had a lovely purple/red mark on it and on top of one of the beds was a suspicious brown stain approx 2 inches on the top of it. We reported our findings to the owners as soon as we got to the property who to their credit offered to come round and clean. However by this time we were thoroughly put off staying there. If so many obvious and basic areas got clearly missed. How many other things had been neglected? The owners response was ‘ they are only small stains ‘ on the bedding and towels! We had only been in the property less than an hour and my socks were black. We left immediately and drove the 300 miles back home. I have travelled all over the world, stayed in everything from backpackers hostels to fancy hotels and never have I had to leave my accommodation without even staying one night. To not even be offered any of our money back from the owners is so upsetting. This was supposed to be our holiday but they do not care. Sadly avoid this cottage.

This cottage was just beautiful.

Exactly as it appears on the advert. The decor is lovely, modern with a rustic feel to the place. It's warm and cosy and has everything you need. The cake in the welcome basket was delicious! This cottage is perfectly located, a few minutes drive to the nearest village for groceries and restaurants. Parking can be a little tight at the property when the neighbouring cottages are occupied, but in my little Fiat 500, I had no issues. I would definitely stay in this cottage again, a lovely few days away for my birthday with my mum and our dog Woody. I definitely recommend visiting the nearby village, Beddgelert about 30 minutes drive away. It's stunning, great for your four-legged companion, some lovely walks and cute shops.

We absolutely loved our stay at Bwthyn Y Bugail.

It was the perfect spot for exploring and lovely to come back to after a long day of walking. Everything has been so well thought of and it really is such a beautiful cottage. The owner of the cottage next door was also very lovely and helped us out when the firewood we had bought was too damp to light. When we come back to North Wales we are looking forward to booking again. Thank you!

It could not have been cosier and the owners have added so many thoughtful touches as well. IT has comfy beds and sofas, a well-equipped kitchen and a lovely hot shower. Really well located for exploring Snowdonia and stunning surroundings too. I really recommend this lovely holiday cottage!

The cottage was very comfortable and finished to a very high standard. Everything we needed was there and had been thought about. It was very warm and the log fire made each evening very cosy. The cottage had such character and was surrounded by beautiful scenery. Dylan and Kirstie were so helpful and responded to us straight away when we had a question. They also kindly let us stay on after checkout time, as they didn't have a booking that evening and it allowed me to stay at the cottage with the dog, while my husband and children went of to climb Snowdon. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. We'd love to come back and explore more.

Bwythn Y Bugail is a lovely warm and homely cottage.

Kitchen is very well equipped with everything we needed to cook for ourselves. We found it to be the perfect base for exploring different parts of Snowdonia, and a lovely cottage to relax in.

The property is quite small, but don't let that fool you, it has been furnished with everything you'll need to make your stay a comfortable one, and comfortable it is.

Everything has been finished to a high standard with an eye for detail. The outside area to the rear has a steep climb, but like everything else has been completed to a high standard and provides a lovely spot for a sundowner overlooking the hills. Our hosts could not have been nicer or more accommodating, genuinely nice people. In short, I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a very cosy stay in a lovely area.

We really enjoyed our stay here, all the home comforts were there and everything was thought about, all the extras were so helpful to our stay.

We had a lovely week’s stay at the cottage.

It is a great base to explore and was very clean and comfortable. Owners communication and location instructions before we arrived were great. As a suggestion the cottage would benefit from some storage in the second bedroom such as a small set of drawers or shelves and some more cutlery in the kitchen. We would highly recommend and would visit again, thanks for letting us stay!

Very clean and perfectly situated for traveling around the area and sight seeing. The only downside would be the parking as very tight - not everyone parking within their allocated spaces but this is not the owners fault. Would definitely recommend.

The apartment is lovely and cosy, it has all inventory you need: all for kitchen / washing / dryer etc.

!. I felt so comfortable, that I extended the booking. Also to keep in touch with Dylan was great, he was really nice and flexible for clarifying topics regarding bookings or additional stuff I needed! I am looking forward to come back with a group may be; I do not need experiments on other apartments in Snowdonia. It was just great and uncomplicated! 10/10 !
