As always excellent property well equipped with good off road parking and nearby cafes and easy access to mountains

This property is in a marvellous place with the beach and views across the estuary literally at the end of the quiet street.

It's an easy walk to Porthmadog and back and there are a couple of cafes five minutes from the house. The equipment is comprehensive and of good quality and the property had been very well cleaned. One or two things were a bit tired as we come to the end of the peak season - mould needs attending to in the bathrooms and the dining chairs are somewhat past it, which lets down the overall very high standards. The two patios are pleasant for sitting out, Would certainly visit again and would thoroughly recommend the property with one caveat - the stairs are steep and there is no downstairs toilet, which may be a consideration for anyone who is a bit creaky.

The property was clean, comfortable and provided all we required. The kitchen was well equipped and functioned well (which isn't always the case in some holiday rentals).

Cuckooland exceeded all expectations.

We know Borth-y gest well from day trips, so knew what to expect from the area, and staying at Cuckooland just added to the pleasure. Cannot think of anything that could be improved and will certainly look to let again in the future

A beautiful, cosy and well equipped house in a quiet area.

An excellent base for exploring up and down the Welsh coast. The house was spotless and modern with enclosed garden areas which were perfect for our three year old to play safely. We had a great stay here and loved the 15-20mins walk to Borthy beach in the evenings. Would definitely stay here again.

There was a minor, temporary problem, which the owner of the property phoned us about of her own accord, which we appreciated. It was disappointing that we did not have the single beds made up, as requested, because it affected our quality of sleep.

Lovely cosy and comfortable house, quiet location with ample parking.

We ( 3 elderly golfers) really enjoyed our second stay here and will definitely come back .

Borth Y Gest is a very scenic location , with easy access to other places on the Lleyn peninsula, Harlech and Anglesey. . The house is modern , comfortable, warm and generally well equipped . The outside sitting areas are attractive although mid October temperatures prevented us from using these. Claudia , the Owner was very helpful when I managed to get the house key firmly stuck under the car seat! The only minor downsides this time were that stocks of basics like dish washer liquid , toilet and kitchen rolls were low . I’m sure this would have been rectified quickly but it was simplest for us to top up these whilst shopping. The hanging space for clothes in the smaller bedroom is minimal , but we can appreciate it’s difficult to improve this. It would be useful for the instructions in the manual to be more specific on removal of bedding , and recycling . These were very minor limitations and overall we really like the house and rate it highly. Thank you Claudia.

A fabulous house, modern, clean with everything you need.

High end fixtures and fittings and really comfy beds. A nice quiet location and easy parking available. Would highly recommend.

A lovely village and a lovely property, only minutes walk to the sea front and a lovely restaurant and ice cream place.

Lots to do within walking distance, even for little legs. The house was clean and tidy and had everything we needed, the kitchen was well stocked, we would happily stay again. Things that would have been helpful - we travelled with young children and the sinks and toilets were all quite high; if you visit with young children a bathroom step may be needed. It also may help families to know that neither bed is against a wall, we bought our own bed guards and needed to use them.

Love Cuckooland, visited many times now.

It is stylish, very clean and comfortable and has everything we need. I am delighted to have met Claudia, the owner, who is dedicated to the comfort and enjoyment of her guests. Nothing is too much trouble. I hope for many more visits.

Absolutely outstanding cottage.

2nd stay here. Beautifully presented, light, bright, airy, comfortable, open plan downstairs living. Very comfortable relaxation snug area for tv and relaxing, rear doors pinto rear patio, great for PM sun and lunch al freco. Front door leading out into front patio great for morning/afternoon sun. Beautiful immaculate bedrooms and bathrooms, 1 en-suite other backing up to main double bedroom. A minutes walk to beach, sea view cafe, shop and Daytime bar 3 minute walk. 12-15 min walk to several beautiful stunning clean beaches! A very relaxing, haven! Real home from home! A really lovely retreat! Owner is lovely and friendly too! Neighbour Kate v helpful with watering rear plants, we took over for her! Very friendly people and so helpful in whole Gwynedd area. Criccieth is nearby and beautiful too! Castle there worth a look- tip do the guided tour,- the guide was excellent very knowledgeable and witty,- involved all of group! Try Yr Yn Fecws for beautiful meals in Porthmadog,- fantastic bistro/restaurant.

We really enjoyed our stay in this comfy and well appointed house.

The location is perfect in a very quiet village but only 20 minutes stroll from Porthmadog with its bars and restaurants. The house had everything we needed for a great holiday.

I would not book through Menaiholidays again - I spent a whole morning before our holiday, trying to both email and ring you to ask for the twin beds to be linked and zipped together, but was not able to get through.

What a shame the problem of the water valve, mentioned by previous guests, had not been looked into before our stay. We were very touched that the owner rang us at home to apologise about the water.

The cottage is very comfortable, modern, and is well fitted out .

The owners have created very pleasant sitting out areas at the front and the back , which looks onto green space . We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely return . It is close to the front at Borth y Gest, which is quiet and has good views over the estuary and sea.There are lovely coastal walks to quiet beaches close to the property . We fed back to the owners a few areas for improvement [which were not showstoppers !] , including plumbing , limited hanging space for clothes in the twin room. Also, first impressions could be improved if bin arrangements could be redesigned . Overall however a very nice holiday .

The property is in an ideal location, there is a lovely cafe just round the corner and there is a pretty walk into Porthmadog, where you can get anything you would want.

The property is very well equipped. there is outside seating at the front and back of the property which means you can take advantage of the sun all day. We didn't find the furniture in the lounge area very comfortable hence only three stars there.

I was disappointed when I moved my booking from earlier in the year to Oct, when the owner decided to charge me £700 for a weekend stay -which was not in school time.

I just felt it was a con and I was not wrong. In the past we have booked with Quality Cottages, which I have always recommended to other clients/customers, unfortunately due to your admin process and the charges that you charge for changes, unless it is a short term booking, I would avoid booking with you again. Cuckooland is ideally placed for access to beaches, towns, rivers and mountains.

It is very comfortable and clean, with everything we needed - except a cheese grater! The only other criticism would be that the duvets were much too hot - some lighter weight, lower tog-rated ones would have been preferred (especially as we were there in an unseasonable heatwave!) All in all it lived up to expectations and we would happily go there again.

We loved the cottage.

It was comfortable, well equipped and maintained. A beautiful location near the bay with lovely views from the walk at the end of the bay. We could sit out at the front and back. In the back bedroom it could do with a wardrobe instead of ladders. The seating in the lounge area is a bit hard. We found a nasty stain on a mattress cover when we stripped one of the single beds.

Excellent property, all mod cons, Wi-fi, smart tv provided in lounge as well as bedrooms.

Kitchen well stocked with all utensils, cutlery, crockery. Ample parking, front and rear gate access. Front and rear garden, access to large green ideal for children to play. Tucked away in quiet Cul- de- sac.

Lovely cottage only one street behind the sea front.

Lots of amazing beaches a short walk away and only a 10-15min walk into Porthmadog. Only thing we would improve is the 9:30 checkout, which is unusually early.

The house was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed.

It is tucked away in a quiet road but is only a minutes walk from the seafront. This cottage had the best shower we have ever seen in a holiday cottage. My only complaint was that the small showerhead could have done with a good clean as there was a build up of mildew. I did mention this to the caretaker but he said it would be done once the season had ended. I think this should be done on a regular basis and it only takes a few minutes to give it a good scrub with some spray bleach. The towels were good sized bath sheets which you don't often get in most properties these days and the bedding was crisp and freshly laundered. The interior of the house has been simply but beautifully styled and there is an interesting collection of prints. Unfortunately we were only able to enjoy the patio on one day as we had torrential rain throughout most of the week. We found that Zip World at Blaenau Ffestiniog was a good destination on the very rainy days and spent two days doing underground activities. The Seaview is the only place to eat in Borth now and they only offered evening meals on a Fri/Sat. We did eat there once but thought it was a bit over-priced as the portion sizes were on the small side and what you would expect for lunch. There is a well stocked Tesco supermarket in Porthmadog so we cooked most evenings.

We were very happy with the overall stay the only thing I would say is we felt a bit rushed to leave on the Sunday.

We had only booked for a weekend which allowed access at 6pm on Friday but required is to leave at 9.30am on the Sunday so the Saturday evening didn't feel overly relaxed. It would have been nicer if we could have left at property 12pm This was probably a Sykes standardisation but we not lead to believe anything different in the property info pack. That was a very minor concern and the house is in a lovley spot and the sea could be seen from the front bedroom window. A short work 1 -2 mins and you can be at the see front and a quick walk across the the coastline there is what feels like a private beach.

We were extremely happy with the house, it's facilities and convenient location.

One of the best that we have experienced. 2 patio areas to catch either sun or shade as preferred. Our grandson loved the communal green area and football goal at the rear of the property.

The house was comfortable with a lovely modern well equipped kitchen and nice bathrooms, great you have parking close by, lovely sunny patio areas, ideally situated close to the beach and within walking distance of Porthmadog.

We were generally happy with most things but there were a few issues which sadly let the accommodation down and need attention hence we can't give 5 stars: the final directions to the property were not quite right and need amending to state that you turn right into Tan Y Foel then left and left again and drive through the narrow gap to the garages, we spent quite some time driving up and down trying to find the property front bedroom: the carpet was threadbare at the side of wardrobe, there was a nasty looking stain on the carpet behind the door and when we stripped the bed on the last morning were horrified to find urine stains all over the mattress protector which clearly hadn't been changed before our stay, this really upset our friends who had used this room and was very embarrassing for me as I had booked the cottage Rear bedroom: shower head still not repaired (from previous feedback we had read before our holiday) and room needs some better method of hanging clothes, also could benefit from coat hooks on the back of the doors The paintwork going upstairs could do with a freshen up, it looks very dirty in places

The house was exceedingly comfortable and all the equipment, linen, etc was of very high quality.

Cuckooland is an excellent holiday home with everything we needed.

We have been before so this was a return visit.

The property is very well equipped in a fantastic location. The only downside was the late check in time of 6pm but that is just a sign of the times at the moment. We love the area and property and will return.

The cottage had had a problem with carpet moths, which were still present.

The sofa was very uncomfortable and needs updating. We cut our stay short by a day and a half as a result of the above.

Front and rear patios catch all sun. It is very well equipped Beautiful area and lots to see.

Cuckooland was just as described.

It provided excellent facilities. The house has been refurbished to a high standard. The owners have not skimped in any way on decor, furniture, furnishings and extra touches. Both bathrooms are lovely with good showers, storage in main bathroom, liquid soap, cleaning materials and quality towels. Bed was very comfy and good furniture in bedrooms. Everything is new. The kitchen is really well equipped too. Comfortable seating in lounge and dining area. Smart TV s with access to Netflix etc. Both patios are suntraps and have patio furniture including cushions. Borth-y-Gest is a pretty village. We had a late lunch at Seaview Bistro with tables outside due to Covid. Moorings Bistro looked good but we didn't get chance to try it. We would definitely stay again if travelling to that part of Wales.

Within walking distance of stunning scenery and beaches yet only a few mins drive from amenities of a town, including 2 big supermarkets. Very comfortable beds and lovely gardens. Just to let you know, the back door key wasn't working.

Found something that i couldn't on AirBnB at an affordable price. I will definitely recommend this as an alternative to ABnB. The play of stay was fabulous. Neat and tidy. Directions to the place were accurate.Affordable. It was well maintained. We thoroughly loved the place and the cottage played a big part of us enjoying our trip to Wales.

A lovely well appointed cottage which has been decorated to a high standard.

It is modern, clean and has very comfortable beds. Borth y Gest is a quiet village which has a costal path - you can walk to a lovely secluded beach in 10 minutes from the cottage and if you walk the other way you can get to Porthmadog in 20 minutes. The cottage is a great base to explore the North Wales area. We enjoyed a ride on the steam train to Caernarfon, visiting Black Rock Sands and a tour of Purple Moose Brewery to name a few. It is definitely a cottage I would return to if I stay in this area again.

Absolutely beautiful property.

Very modern, clean and decorated beautifully. The beds are very comfortable. Located in a gorgeous little village. Will definitely return if we are in the area again.

The house is very comfortable and we'll furnished with everything we could need. The village and beaches are fantastic and you're a short drive from all the attractions of Snowdonia and the Llyn peninsula.

The cottage is extremely well equipped, spotlessly clean and comfortable.

As two well seasoned cottage-goers my wife and I both agreed it was the best cottage we have ever stayed in, anywhere. With a welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee, and Welsh cakes, we settled in quickly. On top of that, the owner rang me, shortly after we arrived, to make sure that everything was ok, and to tell us about the central heating as it was a very cold day. The weather picked up and as we hadn't visited this area for a long time and Cuckooland gave us a very pleasant stay

Everything high quality, stylish and comfortable, We love the lamps and garden lighting, in fact we love everything.

Imaginatively refurbished cottage in a quiet location.

Very clean. Extremely comfy beds. Large well equipped kitchen. Outside seating East and West for the morning and evening sun, what a luxury! Sadly the weather was awful but we didn’t mind staying in with such lovely surroundings.

Only thing missing is a full length mirror! One would fit on the landing nicely. Also was surprised there was not a pint of milk to start us off although plenty of tea and coffee,

The house has been recently altered and refurbished.

Everything was new, the standard of furnishing was very good as was towels, sheets ovenware etc. The 2 gardens were well maintained and had some lovely potted plants and trees as well as new garden furniture.
