Cwm Orthin

It was exactly as described very quiet and peaceful 2 minutes from the harbour you could do as much or as little walking as wanted local people were friendly a calm oasis in a otherwise non stop world

Our main priority when booking a property is our dog .

The property was perfect for us in that respect . And I should say was also ideal for humans !, it was a very practical airy space but also very comfy to relax in . The garden was well maintained , interesting , mature and enclosed and the addition of a pond and being backed by the nature reserve was an added bonus . The property is ideally situated for a walk though the nature reserve or an evening stroll down the coastal footpath to find some stunning bays . We also climbed the local “ mountain” from the front door . The property is situated in a very quiet residential area . There is also so much to do within a short drive . We enjoyed seeing the Osprey nests and our walk near Bedgelert along with a trip to Criccieth and Abersoc . The owner was very responsive to a query we had and it was good to have their direct number so we could easily call them . The service we received after we unfortunately left an item was amazing . The owner was determined to find the item and return it which was greatly appreciated . For so many reasons my friend and I would love to return . Thank you

What a fantastic house.

We have stayed in many houses on Borth Y Gest and this was by far the best. The main bed was sooo comfy and big. Having a dog, it had a great space in the garden for him to have a run around whilst we watched from the warmth, as it was a cold new year. Definitely looking at booking again in the summer

This was our second stay at Cwm Orthin and it didn’t disappoint.

We’ve had a fabulous week staying in Cwm Orthin.

In a quiet area, a 2 minute walk to the little harbour and to the coastal path where you will find beautiful little coves, beaches and walks (some parts of the coast path are quite steep). The house is very well presented, clean and tidy and has a beautiful secure garden with some lovely plants and a large table and chairs for eating out. The terrace outside the kitchen is a sun trap in the morning

We love Borth y Gest so pretty and great for an early morning dog walk. The house is situated in a great location and we love the garden

We are already looking to book another stay at Cwm Orthin, had a fabulous week, the house was spotlessly clean on arrival and the welcome gift of Wine and Chocolates were a lovely touch .

The house is modern , very comfortable and has everything you may need for a great stay . It's very convenient to be able to park on the drive and has a lovely fenced garden , ideal if you have a dog and it's in a quiet spot only minutes walk to the village , a real find !

We had a great week.

House location is excellent. Problems - The rear door was hard to lock at times and the bathroom towel rail is loose - no big deal. We would recommend Cwm Orthin to friends and family.

Can't fault anything realy , everything we needed for a lovely stay just a stoll to the sea 8.

We really enjoyed our stay at Cwm Orthin, House was spotlessly clean, kitchen was really well equipped with new and good quality equipment ( a light under the kitchen cabinets would be useful) bed was really comfortable.

Beach a few minutes walk away would definitely like to return. Tina

Really pleasant short break, lovely house with everything needed

We had a lovely week , the house had everything we needed , spotlessly clean , warm and spacious with a beautiful garden and sea view.

Ideally situated if you want to explore the area without driving for hours and if you enjoy walking it's only two minutes walk to the beach and the coastal path and lots of woodland walks from the door . We have stayed in many holiday lets in Borth-y-gest over the years but so glad to have found this one , will definitely be booking again !

Fantastic modern property in a beautiful old coastal village.

Coastal path walks and sandy beaches are close by and only a 30 mins stroll into Porthmadog. Very well equipped kitchen, an up to date TV good wifi signal and a lovely enclosed dog friendly garden. The owners really care about your stay and making it enjoyable they are always contactable. Thank you

We have stayed at this property before.

It was a simple decision to return. It is clean and well equipped. We will probably use it again as we have family in Borth-y-Gest. Borth-y-Gest is a gem. Tranquil and picturesque, with lots of scenic splendour. Will certainly be back.

Well equipped spacious house with most things you could want.

We felt a radio in the kitchen would have enhanced our stay. The house has a beautiful garden too. The cleanliness of the house was not as good as some we have stayed in. There were cobwebs in the bedroom that we used. Also the two chairs with white loose covers would benefit with laundering / cleaning. Beautiful views of the cost from a number of windows around the house. Always a bonus. We did enjoyed our stay at Cwm Orthin. We felt it is a beautiful house & the area of Borth Y Gest & Porthmadog had much to offer. I feel mean mentioning the cleanliness of the house but if the owners are not aware then they can not act. We have stayed in a number of properties associated with Sykes Cottages & cleanliness has always been spot on. I would also like to state that the owner was extremely helpful to us when we could not get any sound on the TV. We wish to thank him for that.

Cottage was great and had everything we needed but could do with a couple of trays incase you want to eat outside We would definitely look to return at some stage

Beautiful house and garden with views of the sea, all the facilities provided to make it a fabulous holiday, perfect situated in a superb location.

Few minutes walk to the picturesque beach and beach front restaurants.

The house was lovely, everything was as expected.

What a great week we had staying at Cwm Orthin.

It was spotlessly clean and warm when we arrived. From the huge bed in the main bedroom, to the abundance of kitchen equipment, to the comfortable sitting room with a view, to the lovely garden. Every box is ticked for us and our dog. We'll be back to Borth-Y-Gest, hopefully to this lovely house.

From the Airsprung kings size bed (very comfortable) to all the other facilities the property offered, all were first class.

The property is nice and close to the beach(2 minutes walk) on which my little dog enjoyed his walks. We will be visiting this top property again.

Very nice property in a good position.

Well equipped. Lovely garden. Would consider a return visit. If we had to put any negatives it would be that we had a few problems navigating the TV (normal channels) we had to watch through ITV Hub. Stairs were a little bit slippery for our elderly parents to navigate. Overall, a good holiday in a nice property.

This home really does have everything you could need and more. Borth y gest is ideally located and in easy walk or drive to beaches and mountains. Everyone in the village is so welcoming. Can’t wait to come back next year!

Rear garden although contained did not stop our small terrior from escaping on arrival.

We had a great holiday thank you very much This house is in a lovely area called borth y guest up the hill with great walks from the back gate up through the woods lovely beaches on your doorstep The beds where sooo comfortable (super-king) some of our party could not come on holiday so we only used the superking bed A lovely well-kept garden safe for a small dog there was no place for her to get out Thank you for the welcome pack it was a lovely touch Well-equipped kitchen everything we needed Lovely sea views from most of the windows The laundry was so soft We would love to return to this property In the future

Exceptionally clean & well presented & in a great location.

On arrival very pleased however bathroom had previous guest wet towels in pile on bathroom floor bathroom bin full,would have been nice to have main bedroom but that had previous guests sheets on floor.

Lovely house, spacious, modern and clean. Well equipped kitchen, lovely comfy beds, plenty of seating in the living room. We could not fault this property. Excellent location- 5 minute walk to the harbour, 10 min walk to a beautiful cove, 10 min drive to Black Rock sands. Would definitely recommend this house to stay and we are planning to return soon.

I think it would be useful to have another light in the kitchen area as I struggled to see the dials on the oven & also inside the fridge as the area was quite dark.

Also the pillows were too soft for our personal liking we had to use the spare ones also , from the bunk beds . This is our personal Taste and by no means detracted from the high standard of the accommodation. Beautiful property , in a lovely area of the Welsh coast .

Despite the weather the house was comfortable and well situated - would highly recommend

We had the most wonderful stay!

We chose this property because my sister was getting married in portmeirion. The property is as everything and more that we could have imagined. Very well equipped, cosy and warm. Location was perfect and very quiet. Definitely recommend!!

We both really enjoyed our stay at Cwm Orthin.

Borth-Y-Gest is such a lovely peaceful location and the house was very clean and well-equipped. We particularly loved the view of the estuary from lounge window. The garden was nice and secure for our dog and we both enjoyed watching the heron visit the pond. The wine and chocolates were much appreciated too! The only improvement we would make would be to fit some blinds in the bathroom. Thank you for a great holiday.

The Property is in a quiet neighbourhood and well maintained.

Everything worked as expected. The Garden to the rear of the property is not large, but very pleasant to relax in after a day out and about. Only minutes from the waterfront and a reasonable walk into Porthmadog. There are no shortage of places to visit within easy driving distance. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here and hope to return again.

The cottage is in a peaceful location with easy access to lots of lovely lakes and beaches. We particularly loved Black Rock Sands.
