Fantastic property right on the seafront, a real find!

We had a lovely week away with our family and would definitely recommend it. Amazing walks right from the front door - we hardly used our cars all week!

We enjoyed our second stay at Glandwr, having been there 8 years previously.

The owner had made several improvements to the house and it was a comfortable stay. The house is in great location with wonderful and changing views of the bay and surrounding hills.

Lovely well equipped cottage with a beautiful view of the bay.

Beds very comfortable and p!entry of seating in the main living area. The outdoor seating areas at the front and back were comfortable and offered secured area for one's dog. There are two lovely eating places nearby, the Bistro and the deli/cafe offering good quality meals.

Ideal for exploring Lovely well equipped cottage in a beautiful location. Ideal for exploring North Wales or just relax in the tranquil scenery. Both Seaview Cafe Bistro and Bae Borth Deli Bar provide excellent food, and only a short walk away. We can also recommend Yr Hen Fecws Restaurant in Porthmadog where the food is superb. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Glandwr and Borth-Y-Gest and will return. Would highly recommend both Glandwr and Borth-Y- Gest to future holiday-makers, it's a little gem of a place.

The cottage was beautiful, plenty of space, comfortable beds and everything we could need.

The setting was stunning and the front garden with seats and a table provided was lovely. The enclosed pretty back garden with more outdoor seating and table was a real bonus with the dog. Everything was just great except the level of cleanliness was very disappointing.

is is a charming holiday house in a delightful situation right opposite the small beach at Borth y Gest with its very interesting history.

From the windows there are lovely views of the mountains across the estuary and of the rise and fall of the tide. The house is comfortably furnished and guests who are younger and more agile than we are would have no trouble with the steep stairs and steep step down into the bathroom.

Excellent spot for exploring north Wales by foot or by car. Short walk to shops in Porthmadog and/or coastal paths leading to beautiful beaches and coves.

The location is great for visiting local attraction and beaches, and also for popping into Porthmadog for something to eat or drink. The local beaches are lovely and easy to get to on foot. Would recommend to others. Thank you.

Another fabulous holiday at Glandwr.

The house is very clean, comfortable and well equipped. We were lucky to have great weather and enjoyed sitting outside watching the world go by, the views from Glandwr are just breathtaking. A great base to explore North West Wales.

Glandwr is a beautiful cottage in one of the best locations overlooking the harbour and is spacious.

The sitting room has comfortable sofas and the dining room provided wonderful views of the estuary. We loved it! The facilities were very good and the information was clear. Trisha was very helpful when we contacted her regarding an issue when we arrived and solved it immediately. We would definitely come back to stay in the future. Suggestions for improvement: 1. Replace vacuum cleaner as outer sheath on flex cord is cut 2. Improve plumbing at some point so that shower drain does not need plunging 3. Ensure all kitchen utensils are clean

Spent a wonderful week at Glandwr, comfortable, clean, fabulous home in a great location.

The house was very comfortable & well provided with the things you may miss from home.

Great views no problems with on street parking. We had a great week at the cottage with our dog Barney & plenty of places close by to walk.

The view from the cottage is immense.

Sitting outside having coffee in the mornings, you could see that we were the envy of everyone that walked past! The house is comfortable (though we found the beds somewhat firm) and had everything we needed. Everything worked fine. Most things were very clean (I did wash the cooker hood and fridge top though for many people these would be out of sight, and they certainly weren't terrible). A summer-weight duvet might be helpful, we were somewhat hot at nights. Heating simple to switch on ad-hoc. The nearby beaches have to be some of the best in Wales, if not the UK! I would happily return to Glandwr and if it ever came up for sale, well I'd be interested!

Great house in a brilliant location, directly opposite the bay.

The only slight negative is the fact you can't access the property until 4.30pm but have to leave at 10am on the day of departure.

We had another wonderful family holiday at Glandwr.

We all love the house & Borth Y Gest & the surrounding area. The children love the nearby beaches & there's so much to do in the surrounding area - beautiful scenery, steam trains & historic castles. We love the nearby Seaview cafe too. The children always say they don't want to leave the house & can we come back next year as we leave. The views from the 2 front bedrooms are so beautiful. Whatever the weather you have a fantastic holiday at Glandwr.

Wonderful homely property with excellent views

Glandwr is a really lovely cottage and we had a great holiday.

Icing on the cake was meeting the owner . Although we had chatted on the phone when making arrangements it was really nice to meet her. we would love to stay again but as there are only two of us plus Inca the dog we shall have to wait until the end of the season when prices are lower and also when there is availability in such a spectacular cottage. kate Fraser

A lovely house in a lovely spot.

We've stayed here several times. It was nice to see some investment has been made to the property in terms of minor reconfiguration and updates. I can say from experience that not all holiday property owners do this.

A well appointed house in a great position.

We were a group of 2 adults and 3 children and as such the house accommodated us very well. Great bathroom facilities and comfortable beds. The need to use a plunger in the shower room was not a problem; being very easy to do. Would like to return. Thank you.

The facilities were good & we found the house very comfortable & well euipped. We really enjoyed going to the nearby beaches & walking into Porthmadog, where there are a variety of steam train journeys you can do. We enjoyed it so much we have already booked to go again next year, as our grandchildren loved it there. All the information, instructions & correspondence were great & very helpful too.

it was very comfortable, everything was provided that you needed. Beautiful sea views ,lovely little back garden. A really beautiful spot. We are in our seventies so we did find the stairs a bit narrow and steep. But having said that we managed .Had a lovely week..

What a great location!

The house is in a lovely village, beautiful views, easy to walk into Porthmadog. The back garden was great for a barbecue one evening. We were lucky enough to have great weather while we were there. Great to have a Smart TV for the odd film. Well equipped kitchen.

Beautiful property located in the picturesque Borth y gest, the views are the best, made better by the glorious sunshine we had for the weekend.

Sitting out at the front of the house with a cup of tea in the morning and glass of wine in the evening is all you need to unwind in the comfortable house and welcoming location. As a party of 7 and the dog, the space accommodated us all comfortably. All facilities were of excellent quality, especially the stand alone power shower. Well equipped kitchen everything we needed. Thank you for a wonderful stay we will definitely be back

We had a very comfortable time in Glandwr.

The house was warm and cosy in typical April weather. The house has been refurbished since my last visit The addition of a new shower room and extension to the lounge into the garden was much appreciated. The views from the house and local walks are wonderful. We enjoyed our stay and I would book the house again.

It is such a beautiful little village. The accommodation was perfect for what we wanted and needed. It made for a most relaxing break.

Excellent cottage right on the waterfront with a welcoming atmosphere, well equipped and comfortably furnished.

The views across the estuary are splendid. There is plenty to do in the area, there are sandy beaches, coastal walks and hills to climb. Porthmadog with its shops and three steam railways is only a short walk away. Owner very helpful..

We have all had a brilliant holiday in this little gem of a village.

Super house with stunning views. We were very comfortable and warm. Well equipped for us all ages 3 to 60. Good walks and fabulous beaches. We will be coming back to Borth before too long. Thank for sorting out postponing our trip from lock down in April to October. No fuss just very helpful, thank you.

Just a couple of what are intended to be constructive pieces of criticism: 1.

The duvet was not big enough for the bed. It seemed to be a large size duvet on what was effectively a king size bed, i.e. 2 singles pushed together, so it barely covered the surface area of the bed. 2. The bath towels were small and thin, hence it was relatively difficult getting dry. Another suggestion is that the dining room would benefit from Roman blinds or something similar. We were fortunate to have good weather and sitting at the dining table, which is positioned where you want it to be to take advantage of the wonderful views, at the front window, it was blinding when eating breakfast. Apart from the above, we have no complaints at alll. We absolutely loved it and have already booked again for next year.

Excellent for a relaxing break.

We had a wonderful week in this lovely, comfortable house. The location was excellent, just across the road from small beach on tidal estuary. Gorgeous views. The 4 year old loved exploring beach and rock pools. Borth y Gest is a small, picturesque friendly place, couple of good cafes/restaurants (no pub), short walk to Porthmadog. Lovely coastline with coastal walks. Can't wait to return!

there is nothing negative to say it was fantastic for a family to assemble for time together.

We loved the cottage, so comfortable and spacious, everything we needed for a 3 generations family holiday.

It really suited all of us from the youngest to the most senior. The location and the view perfect, close to local attractions although the children were happy with the beach. The welcome pack on arrival was a nice touch. We are happy to recommend this property and will be coming again.

It was a really ‘easy’ holiday!

Easy to book, an easy house to find, easy to get to other places of interest but above all an easy house to live in. The facilities/appliances/equipment supplied made it a real home from home. Detailed instructions meant that everything worked straightaway. Communication with the owners was easy too and they were really pleasant and helpful. An excellent combination of features made this a fantastic holiday. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend both Sykes and Glandwr to anyone! Thank you for a wonderful time!

Absolutely wonderful break which was made all the more pleasant by our cottage and its position for exploring the countryside.

All the facilities were excellent and the cottage was both warm and comfortable, with good instructions via Sykes Cottages and directly from Glandwr's owner. Would definitely book again and recommend for anyone with large family. PS - most comfortable bed we've ever slept in!! Many thanks

Its the fourth and best property we've stayed in at Borth Y Gest

The house was a great base, I enjoyed relaxing in the spacious & comfortable rooms but best of all were the stunning views

This was our second New Year at Glandwr Borth y Gest and we had a great time.

The location and property is perfect for us with direct access to the coastal path and stunning views whatever the weather. The layout of the property means space enough to accommodate both grandparents and teenagers and of course our dog too - couldn't ask for more really. The owner is very helpful and makes contact in advance to ensure all is in order for you and leaves a small welcome pack too.

Excellent family holiday.

Unfortunately the weather wasn't very good for June but there was plenty to keep us occupied and entertained around the area. A beautiful location with stunning scenery.

Great location.

Beautiful scenery. Great house. The stairs a little narrow and steep for the elderly. But would highly recommend this cottage, and have already booked in October for our third visit.

Brilliant location.

House is in a wonderful position. Very comfortable. The cottage is in a great place for getting around Wales, and bistro and cafes right on your door step. Each day is different as the beach and hills change with the weather.. Will definitely book this cottage again.
