Great accommodation in a lovely location.

We enjoyed the peace and beauty of the village and its' proximity to many of Snowdonia's attractions. We really liked being able to walk into Porthmadog as we were so close to the coast path. The apartment was clean, cosy, spacious and well equipped. It was perfect for a family holiday or as for us a weekend getaway.

From the first time I set foot in this place I really loved it.

It is spacious, very comfortable and welcoming. It has a special 'feel' to it somehow. I love the location too - you can see the bay opposite from the front facing windows and appreciate it in all weathers and different times of day. It is only a short walk into Porthmadog along the coastal path. There is a nature reserve behing the property where you can go for walks.

Excellent accommodation in a lovely setting.

Very easy to get to Porthmadog on foot (about 10 mins walk to the centre) and to other attractions, such as Criccieth and Harlech. The Ancient woodland area behind the accommodation is a great walk as well. it is very comfortable and tidy. We will book again soon!

Second time for us and really enjoyed the stay.

Lovely place and location is perfect. No major issues with the accommodation so only minor observations - teapot spout is broken so worth getting a new one! Maybe worth having a comfy armchair by the living room window to enjoy the amazing view but nothing else was an issue for us and we will definitely be booking again.

We enjoyed our stay very much, particularly the view from the sitting room.

Our grandchildren had fun in the playroom. Comfy beds. The kitchen/dining room was great and pretty well equipped, though a medium sized saucepan and scales would have been very helpful. There were a few problems, the blind in the top floor back bedroom was broken; the overhead light in the top floor double bedroom didn’t work and there was not a bulb in one of the bedside lights. The TV didn’t work, it said no signal. There were no batteries in the dvd remote control. I would say the steep stairs might be a problem for some people. Parking was easy, very close by with no restrictions. The property was very clean. We would recommend it.

This was our second visit and again did not disappoint.

It had everything we needed and was clean and extremely well maintained.. Borth y gest is a peaceful and relaxing location with beautiful sandy beaches only a short walk along coastal path. Views from window of lounge are stunning. Highly recommended accommodation and would not hesitate to book again.

Pros: -Really spacious -Great shower -Great location -Comfy beds -Well stocked kitchen Cons: - In the single bedroom at top of house the far wall is wet with mould growing on the celling above, which meant we were unable to use this room for our baby - In the same room there is a wooden chest with nails sticking out of it - Blind broken upon arrival in double room on top floor - A lot of the utensils and dinnerware were dirty upon arrival and had to be cleaned prior to use.

Non stick pan is also badly scratched -Travel cot provided by cottage looked very old and the mattress wouldn’t stay flat which didn’t feel very safe for a baby

Great apartment by the beach with great views and a short walk to Porthmadog.

The flat is in a great location with lovely views across the water to Harlech.

Borth-y-Gest is a charming quiet place as a base for a holiday with a couple of places to eat. The wifi and tv are great and the accommodation is clean and comfortable and quite spacious. The only shortcomings were a lack of some basic items of kitchen equipment viz. a washing up bowl, a tray, coasters and kitchen roll. Also some lidded casserole dishes for the microwave would have been useful. Roadside parking isn't ideal but we always found a space not too far away.

We have stayed in various different places with yourselves for years but this has to be the worse property we have been to.

The location is brilliant but the property was dirty, the kitchen fridge was not clean (whilst it was empty) the outside was dirty and there was an unpleasant smell inside. Kettle was ancient and the sides and floor was not cleaned. There was an unpleasant stale smell throughout the property and I feel this may have been felt by whoever had been in the property prior to our arrival as a lot of windows had been left open. The bathroom was very basic and the grouting is all stained. The general maintenance of the property is poor, it needs refreshing and a bit of TLC (paintwork/stained furniture/dining area - poor inadequate seating). The children’s bedroom was covered in mold on the alcove with clear black spores and damp marks on the wall - the children were moved from this room but again not acceptable in a rental property. The accommodation is an apartment which I appreciate but you can hear the residents television in the rental property along with any movement. With a refresh, deep clean and general update of appliances this property could be easily improved.

Wonderful property with stunning views.

Lovely cafe and restaurant in the village and plenty of things to do and see in the area such as Harlech Castle, both steam trains and the fantastic Black Rock sands.

A fantastic well situated apartment in this lovely village.

Well equipped and superbly clean. Steep stairs and missing a bath but we knew that before we booked. We really enjoyed our stay and the lovely views over the bay.

The apartment was very nice and in a very nice situation.

There were a few issues that need to be dealt with namely trying to lock the door to the property on the inside was extremely hard and found that it had not locked properly a couple of times. The window blind in the bathroom couldn't be closed because the cord was broken and looked like it had been for some time, the blind cord in in one bedroom was also broken but could be closed. These might sound like petty issues but need to be attended to, along with a few other things. All in all a very nice place that could easily be improved upon.

Very homely and comfortable, with some lovely little touches. The property is really well equipped and we found it had everything we needed. Views are beautiful and the location is great. Small beach across the road but the best ones are a short walk away, some outstanding little bays, very unspoilt and surrounded by magnificent scenery, if ur happy to take a small hike and are reasonably fit. Porthmadog is just a twenty minute walk via a coastal walk but there are some steps and a small hill to negotiate. Would love to return some time.

The stunning views were mesmerising and the walks from the doorstep on the coast path were perfect. I am already missing the peace and tranquility of the beautiful location. The owner responded to my queries and sent a handyman to fix the blind so that my teenager could sleep without being woken too early by the glorious sunshine that filled the room. Thank you for that!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Excellent location with great views and you step outside virtually onto the beach. It’s well worth walking to the other beaches following the path beyond the car park. They are beautiful sandy beaches. The house has all the home comforts, very clean and comfortable. Would not hesitate to return. Highly recommended.

We throughly enjoyed our stay for my husbands birthday and already discussing about returning next year.

The property being very spacious and a fabulous location. The view over looking the beach is beautiful. I would 100% recommend this property to anyone.

Clean, spacious accommodation.

It's a shame that despite a previous holiday maker mentioning the kettle leaks and the can opener is blunt, also response that these would be replaced, the items clearly haven't been replaced. Sending a WhatsApp to Sykes hasn't obtained a response either. Apart from the kettle and can opener, the accommodation was excellent.

Only one comment, we've stayed in many places now and all have the simple things like foil, washing up liquid, salt and pepper oil,just basics that you need, otherwise the house was amazing and very comfortable.

What a lovely flat, very spacious and clean.

Nicely decorated. Great location and easy to park, walking distance to Porthmadog. We had an issue with the WiFi which Wendy rectified almost straight away… There was only a couple of things which would of made it excellent may not be important to others but a smart tv would of been nice to have been able to login to our Netflix etc. Maybe some small side drawers in the lower bedroom. Apart from these minor things we loved our stay and would like to return in the future! The view is to die for!! Thank you Wendy.

Lovely clean house with a great view nice and cozy only things we spotted that may need changing are the kettle looks to be leaking not dangerous and the tin opener is blunt only little minor things and didn’t effect our stay would happily come back again Thank you

The heating was a bit fierce - I had to turn down most of the radiators.

Great location with plenty of space.

The double bedroom , ideally take the shelve off by the double bed on the left hand side as you constantly catch yourself on the shelf.

To near to the double bed). Also the single room on the second floor there is damp wall I think there is a leak in the roof so will need fixing. Apart from that a lovely house.

We had a lovely stay at the house.

It was a perfect location and the views over the harbour were amazing. The house was really spacious and our son loved the addition of the playroom. We would definitely recommend the house and would love to come back and make it our annual stay at Borth Y Gest.

The property had everything we needed for a good holiday.
