“We have stayed in various different places with yourselves for years but this has to be the worse property we have been to.”
The location is brilliant but the property was dirty, the kitchen fridge was not clean (whilst it was empty) the outside was dirty and there was an unpleasant smell inside. Kettle was ancient and the sides and floor was not cleaned.
There was an unpleasant stale smell throughout the property and I feel this may have been felt by whoever had been in the property prior to our arrival as a lot of windows had been left open.
The bathroom was very basic and the grouting is all stained.
The general maintenance of the property is poor, it needs refreshing and a bit of TLC (paintwork/stained furniture/dining area - poor inadequate seating). The children’s bedroom was covered in mold on the alcove with clear black spores and damp marks on the wall - the children were moved from this room but again not acceptable in a rental property.
The accommodation is an apartment which I appreciate but you can hear the residents television in the rental property along with any movement.
With a refresh, deep clean and general update of appliances this property could be easily improved.
We appreciate your review, however ourselves and Menai/Sykes were quite shocked and perplexed by your words.
It is confusing, considering our guests who left the morning on the afternoon you arrived gave a 5* positive review. I have also contacted the guests who arrived the day you left and are now enjoying their holiday in Borth and they have none of the issues you report. As I have said to them, if you do have any issues, please notify us and we will fix anything asap if we can.
Im not sure of your motivation for such a negative, scathing review, but I will address some issues.
Kettle was purchased in December, microwave 4 weeks ago. Kitchen was totally overhauled 6 years ago.
Bathroom refurbished 5 years ago and on last inspection late March grouting was clean.
We consistently get 4+* reviews. However, my greatest concern is your accusation that the single room has ‘black mould’. If you have photographic evidence of this I would appreciate you sending it. Its a very serious allegation and can be very damaging to a property owner.
Our housekeeping team have done a full inspection and have found no unpleasant smell, mould or damp issues you refer to. Neither previous or current guests have made any claims of these issues at all.
If you do have any photographic evidence, we would appreciate you sending it to us.
We really do strive to give our guests a happy experience. Im sorry that you didn’t have a positive experience at Topsail.
