    “A lovely, extremely clean, well equipped comfortable little cottage attached to the owners home.”

    Secure back garden for my little dog, also a small area in front of the cottage is gated. I took a torch and a light up collar for my dog for night time toilet trips, would definitely recommend. Fabulous country side views from upstairs, cottage is on a quiet lane you wouldn’t even realise was there. The owners have put together a welcome folder giving details and numbers for anything you might need during your stay. There’s a fantastic beach just a very short drive from the cottage ...

There’s a fantastic beach just a very short drive from the cottage (Dinas Dinlle) lots of space for dogs to have a run around, plenty of parking too! I found Jane and her husband (the owners) to be very friendly both on my arrival and on the morning of me leaving. I would definitely recommend Dowlais and wouldn’t hesitate to return. It’s a 5 ⭐️ from me.

The Llanllyfni Cottages

The Llanllyfni Cottages consist of a conventional selection of two cottages resting in the scenic village of Llanllyfni, Gwynedd. This pet-friendly collection offers gorgeous countryside views, enclosed garden, and flat screen freeview TV, making it ideal for a family or group of friends and their well-behaved pets. The surroundings enjoy the beautiful country landscape of Snowdonia, where you can hike up Snowdon, visit Dinas Dinlle Beach and the Airworld Aviation Museum just a few miles away, then grab some pub grub at The Goat – Yr Afr on your way home to your property! Venture a little further afield for Caernarfon to treat the history buff to Caernarfon Castle and Caernarfon Tower, before enjoying a nature-filled walk through Lôn Eifion. Take that short drive to Llanberis for Dolbadarn Castle, the lovely views of Ceunant Mawr, and a scenic train-ride at the Llanberis Lake Railway. The Llanllyfni Cottages are a fine base for a peaceful, countryside escape in Gwynedd.

Llanberis 8 miles; Caernarfon 6.5 miles.

The lovely quiet village of Penygroes is situated around six miles from the historic castle town of Caernarfon, bordering the Snowdonia National Park with beautiful scenic walks and mountain views easily accessible. A good selection of shops, cafes and pubs are available in the village and the wider local area is full of restaurants and activities such as golfing, swimming, tennis, surfing and horse riding to name but a few. Plas Dinas Country House is also nearby, which is home to some great history as well as The Gun Room restaurant. The beaches on Anglesey and the Llyn Peninsula can be reached in about half an hour, while the beach at Dinas Dinlle is just a 10-minute drive away. Nearby, Caernarfon is home to Caernarfon Castle, which is well worth a visit, with further shops and cafes available, as well as steam train trips. Portmeirion is also a short distance away, featured in the TV series ‘The Prisoner’. Just 8 miles away is the Welsh Heritage centre which has a licensed cafe at Nant Nwrtheyrn with magnificent sea views from it's decked dining area. Beddgelert is a very attractive village, surrounded by the beautiful Snowdonia National Park, with a fabulous arts and craft shop, and several pubs. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
