Had an absolutely wonderful stay at the cottage!

Nerys & Dewy were very welcoming and made sure we were very comfortable. Everything was so clearly written in the guest information book, and they answered any questions we had straight away. They even left us some chocolates! I cannot wait to come back again honestly!

Small cottage but so well equipped.

The owner has thought of everything you may need for your stay. Very comfortable beds and despite low ceilings in the bedroom it was very warm and cosy and suited our needs. The whole cottage was clean and welcoming. Great garden area too . Parking outside the cottage so that was good. Very good location with easy access to all the local attractions. Owner came out to meet us on arrival and was very friendly and made us very welcome . Would recommend staying here

Couldn't rate our stay high enough, was made to feel extremely welcome and comfortable immediately.

The cottage was very clean. Lots of little touches such as welcome gifts, tea and coffee in the cupboard, basic cooking supplies. Beds were very comfortable, easy parking, lots of information left on the area. We were even brought some homemade cakes half way through our stay. Honestly couldn't fault anything at all.

2nd time we’ve stayed at this property and once again it was the perfect choice.

Our hosts could not have been more welcoming and accommodating. The cottage is extremely cosy and comfortable and is very well equipped. They’ve thought of everything. Extra touches like flowers, wine and chocolates (not forgetting the amazing homemade cakes) were very thoughtful and much appreciated. Location was perfect for getting around everything North Wales has to offer. We would definitely recommend this property and will likely visit again! Thank you

Fabulous cottage, just one problem in the night the toilet is downstairs.

At a certain age you do need to go in the night. All other facilities where grade one.Made to feel very welcome by the owners, nothing to much trouble.Highly recommend this cottage, wonderfully situated also.

What a beautiful little cottage to stay in.

We met the owner on arrival and she was very welcoming and even left us a bottle of wine in the fridge and a box of chocolates. The place was heated with radiators and plenty of big fluffy blankets should you feel cold. There is a well equipped kitchen which was great to cook in for a family but most of all the place was immaculate. We will definitely be staying here again.

The hosts were incredibly friendly and welcoming, even leaving thoughtful welcome gifts for us when we arrived, which was such a lovely touch. Making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The cottage itself was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect for exploring the stunning scenery, with breathtaking beaches and mountains right on the doorstep. It was a lovely retreat to come back to after our adventures. Our dog Peggy was also made to feel very welcome, which meant so much to us. We even got to see in the New Year here, making it all the more special. We also enjoyed a lovely meal at The Goat Inn, just a short walk away. We’re already looking forward to staying again in the future! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful and well-equipped getaway!

Our stay at this property was deeply disappointing, and the communication with the owner following our visit was unprofessional, inappropriate, and disturbing.

Communication: The owner’s tone was accusatory and unprofessional throughout our interactions. They made inappropriate comments about what we were wearing during our stay, which raises serious concerns about guest privacy. It is highly unsettling to feel that your personal choices and privacy are being monitored and commented on. This behavior is entirely unacceptable and unprofessional for anyone managing a rental property. State of the Property: The cottage was in a terrible state when we arrived. There was a severe fly infestation, with dead flies scattered on the floors and surfaces. We resorted to setting traps multiple times a day, catching dozens of flies each time. The root cause seemed to be the property’s “own sewage system,” which is both concerning and unhygienic. The property was advertised as dog-friendly, but the owner later complained about dog hair, even though hair was present in the carpets upon arrival, likely from previous guests. Additionally, the property was extremely cold, forcing us to wear jackets indoors the entire time. The heating system was inadequate, and the WiFi did not work in parts of the house. We paid nearly £400 for a seven-night stay, and the experience fell far below acceptable standards. Despite leaving a thank-you gift and refraining from immediate criticism, the owner’s response to minor messes caused by unavoidable circumstances was appalling and overly harsh. Conclusion: This property was advertised as a home away from home but turned out to be a nightmare. The poor hygiene, lack of proper heating, and deeply concerning communication from the owner made this one of the worst stays we’ve ever had. I would strongly advise future guests to avoid this property unless substantial improvements are made to both the cottage and the owner’s approach to guest interactions.

We absolutely loved our stay here!

The cottage was perfect and had everything that we needed and I’m sure if we needed anything else we could’ve asked the owners and they would’ve helped us! It is a short drive to the beach which is lovely and there’s a great pub just down the road. We can’t wait to come again! Thank you so much for our lovely stay x

Had a wonderful stay at a great cottage in a good location for exploring north west Wales.

Our host had put the heating and lights on for us as we were arriving quite late, it got the stay off to a great start.

Stayed for a recent short weekend away.

The cottage is well equipped with everything we needed with two young children. The location serves as a great base to explore North Wales, Porthmadog and Caernarfon areas. The garden centre close by has a good cafe too. Hope to return in the future. Thanks!

We had a wonderfull stay, Nerys was so welcoming & helpful.

There was everything we needed for a comfortable, cosy stay and a safe garden for the dogs, plus beautiful dog friendly Criccieth nearby.

Generally a v good standard,v clean and v well equipped.

v nice welcome pack too which was a nice touch. Head height in bedroom we found difficult and would have preferred dining table to a breakfast bar but those are a personal preference and not a criticism as we were aware of both Pryor to arrival. Location was good for easy access to lleyn peninsula snowdonia and Anglesey which we appreciated but traffic noise was more than we had anticipated ,especially noticeable when using the secure dog friendly garden.all said we had a nice short break so many thanks to all concerned.

We had a fantastic stay, perfect location for visiting the surrounding area and Criccieth only 5 miles down the road.

Situated on a main road but you couldn't hear the traffic at all inside. The accommodation itself was spotlessly clean on arrival along with beautiful flowers, wine and chocolates and everything was provided. The beds were extremely comfortable and the enclosed garden was perfectly dog friendly. The owners were so friendly and helpful, we shall definitely be returning. There is so much to see and do in this part of Wales, you're spoilt for choice.

On arrival we were delighted to find that Nerys and her husband kept the cottage absolutely pristine.

We have never been so lucky as to go to somewhere so well equipped. Everything you need was there for you, including a bottle of wine ,chocolates and flowers. The owners were delightful, infact Nerys baked us some cakes and I think my husband has found another tractor enthusiast!!!!! Garden was great for the dogs and plenty of patio furniture for us humans too. All in all, a really comfortable, quiet and relaxing atmosphere. We would definitely recommend the cottage and its owners especially if you want to get away from it all. Absolutely "spot on". Rose and Colin maddock.

Great host and property.

Extremely well mannered host who thought throught the most minor details to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Will definitely be returning on our next trip to wales.

This is a wonderful, clean and fully equipped little cottage, has ample parking, a very secure garden and luxurious comfy beds.

This property has clearly been thought about by its owners Nerys and Dewi. There is a beach, 15 minutes drive away, which is great for running the dogs (after 30th Sept), and small aircraft museum too. Supermarket in Porthmadog - 6 miles drive. Snowdon approximately 15 miles away if you're looking to experience walking in the mountains. This cottage is on a busy road, which I hadn't appreciated, however road noise is minimal and not really and issue, although the frequent the cattle market opposite, can make it difficult to turn out of the property. You couldn't really ask for more - everything to hand.

I don't think I've ever stayed in such a comfortable and well equipped holiday cottage.

We rarely eat out during our holidays as it's not that easy with our dog, so having such a well equipped kitchen made a huge difference to me. The added touch of welcome chocolates, flowers and wine was a real delight too. Nerys was a wonderful host and even treated us to some home baking, which was delicious. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dog and would be wonderful for sitting out and enjoying summer evenings. The location was ideal for accessing all the places we wanted to visit.

What a Jewel in a crown, we both, along with our canine pal, thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend, in the hottest part of the year.

Cottage had everything we needed.

Owner lived next door and was lovely. We were greeted as we arrived and there was a bottle of wine, flowers and a box of chocolates waiting for us which we thought was a lovely touch. We had a meal booked at the goat the say we arrived for our anniversary and Nerys kindly gave us a lift to the pub so we could both have a drink. Cottage was immaculate- yes the ceiling in the bedroom was very low but it added to the quirkiness of the place. Garden safely enclosed for the dogs. All I. All a lovely place to stay.

The cottage was all we could have wanted. It was comfortable and welcoming. We would happily recommend anyone to come and stay here. Located just away from the mountains it’s location is ideal for exploring the coastline and Llyn peninsula as well as Snowdonia.

Cottage was really clean and lots of thought put in to having all the right things available; making our stay very comfortable. Lovely touch of a welcome bottle of wine and chocolates was much appreciated and Nerys was very helpful and lovely to chat to. Couldn't ask for much more really.

Everything you could think of is catered for.

I took my slow cooker, pans and knives (didn't need them). The cottage is quaint and quirky with comfy beds for a restful sleep. Lots of dvds, books, cards, domino's wifi. Nerys and Dewi were lovely hosts giving pointers on local sights and things to do - with flowers, chocolates and wine on arrival being an appreciated touch. A great base with lots of beaches, towns, supermarkets etc close by. The only downside was that we had to leave

This little cottage is perfectly provided like home from home.

It was cosy, warm and living areas spacious as well as outdoor areas for the dogs. Great location only 5 mins drive from everywhere and great walks near by. The owners were pleasant and just let us get on with our stay. The only down side for me was there was no view from the cottage and the low ceilings and door at the rear, I banged my head several times and was walking hunched over whilst upstairs.

The owners, Nerys and Dewi were absolutely lovely, so welcoming and kind, it would be a joy to return just to see them again! We had a fantastic meal at The Goat just down the road and at Dylans in Criccieth, both highly recommended. This was the perfect getaway house for us with our dog, we couldn't have wished for more!

The cottage was spotlessly clean and so well equipped (the kitchen was better equipped than mine at home) Nothing was too much trouble for the owner and she was always on hand to help and give us local knowledge. The location is perfect if you’re after a quiet break but was still fairly local to amenities. Great location for some of the best walks and lovely beaches close by. I’d definitely recommend this property and would certainly stay again if I come back to the area for another holiday.

The Cottage itself was immaculate and very cosy. There were 4 of us who stayed, 2 adults and 2 children and it was perfect. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming and we had an amazing holiday in North Wales. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it.

The cottage is ideal for couples and families, with the location being close to Criccieth, Caernavon and Snowdonia.

The house was in pristine condition, with a nice open kitchen and lounge along with two decent-sized bedrooms. There's a pub just down the road which is great for a meal and the Wi-Fi is really good in the cottage, with a nice space out in the garden for when the weather is nice.

Nerys, the owner, has thought of everything. From my first contact with her, she has been extremely friendly & helpful. She greeted us upon arrival & showed us around. There was a bottle of wine in the fridge, chocolates & fresh flowers to greet us. The cottage was spotlessly clean, the cleanest cottage we have ever stayed in. The best equipped cottage for a holiday. It was perfect & Nerys & her husband Dewi gave us lots of information on the local area. The Llyn Peninsula is stunning, we had fabulous weather with only 1 day where it rained. I cannot recommend this cottage highly enough & we will definitely be returning.

Everything you could possibly need was available to us in the cottage. The cottage was clean and tidy and very comfortable. We got to meet the owners dogs and the last two puppies from a recent litter, all bonuses as far as we were concerned to what was a wonderful and restful week, long overdue and very much appreciated. We have already booked another week for Spring and are very much looking forward to returning x

What a great find.

We have explored most of South Wales as a family but wantes to go North Wales this time. With over a 6 hour drive from Oxfordshire it was definitely worth it. a lovely little, compact house with everything you can ask for and more. We were welcomed with open arms and the owners couldn't do enough for us. The weather held for the majority of the time but we were prepared for it. my dog, loved exploring the beautiful walks that were nearby and the evenings were filled with games and reading in lovely cosy house. I don't normally sleep very well if not in my own bed but the bed was lovely and comfortable i slept really well. We will definitely be back

This was our first stay in the cottage.

The owners, Nerys and Dewi, were very friendly and helpful. The cottage itself was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and very well equipped. It was clear that considerable thought had gone into what was needed - the kitchen particularly so. The enclosed garden was great for the two dogs as were the two fields at the back. We were very fortunate with the weather and all enjoyed sitting by the stream. The location of the cottage is ideal for exploring the Snowdonia National Park as well as the Lleyn Peninsula. The garden centre and cafe opposite deserve a mention also. Thank you Nerys and Dewi, we had a lovely time.

The peace and tranquillity of the barn , hosts were very welcoming.

All three of us enjoyed every minute of our stay would highly recommend it's a beautiful place . Everything at hand for you to use Eddie our little Frenchie loved the beach and the quaint little pub were we were made most welcome.

this cottage has everything you need just like a home from home, restricted head space is a bit difficult and there was some road noise but all this is stated in the listing, the owner was very approachable and helpful, sat in the garden everyday and watched the birds and it was fully enclosed for the dog.

Having booked with Sykes Cottages before I know the descriptions about the cottages are usually pretty accurate.

Where we stayed at Bryncir gave very good access to both mountains and beaches. It is an ideal location for those wishing to walk, cycle, wild swim or have the odd day relaxing at the coast or sightseeing. Long distance cycle path no. 8 passes within 2 minutes cycle ride of the cottage, and there are several good walks within 20minutes drive in every direction. The owners are very helpful, and any problem is dealt with immediately.

Positives - well equipped kitchen, good location for touring, friendly owners Negatives - on a busy main road, small with very restricted head space upstairs.

Misleading - details say that cottage has its own garden. The one day the weather was good enough for lunch outside, I opened the back door and found that the owner, friends and dogs had taken it over. Quite annoying. Details should also warn about location a busy main road.
