Meadow Island Caravan is a neat retreat situated near the breath-taking Eryri National Park in the village of Carmel, Gwynedd.

Upon entering the single-storey accommodation, you will be greeted by three compact bedrooms; a double, a second double with room for one more, and a twin room, all thoughtfully designed to make you feel at home during your stay.

Freshen up in the bathroom, equipped with a small bath, shower over, basin, and a heated towel rail, providing a warm and inviting space to prepare for your day.

A handy cloakroom with a basin and WC ensures no morning rush.

The heart of the home is the open-plan area, where you can enjoy home-cooked meals prepared in the well-equipped kitchen and served at the dining table with seating for five.

After dinner, retire to the sitting room, where a built-in corner sofa awaits you.

Caravan was fantastic.

Easy to find, shirt drive to Caernarfon and Anglesey. But still remote and peaceful. Has it's own secure private garden so perfect for dogs and young children.

The caravan is in a very peaceful setting with beautiful surroundings and very conveniently positioned for lots of North Wales activities.

The caravan is well equipped with a lovely big kitchen/lounge/dining area. The extra outbuilding with washing machine and big fridge/freezer was useful too. We would have liked a more comfortable mattress though on one of the double beds. However, we loved staying there and would recommend it as a reasonably priced peaceful getaway.

The owners were friendly and really helpful and the area seemed quiet and the main living area was ok,but it was let down by uncomfortable bedrooms due to poor beds and a musty smell in all the bedrooms and to add to this most of the views from the caravan were obscured by either foliage or misted up double glazed window units and the surrounding area around the caravan looked like a building site,although there is a enclosed patio area which was ok.

Looking back the pictures and description could do with an update,as in my opinion they are misleading.

I am sorry to hear of the issues you had. First, I am bewildered to hear of a musty smell in the bedrooms. No one else has noticed this. I wonder if perhaps it was the orange-scented cleaning spray I use. The whole caravan is damp-dusted, vacuumed, mopped and bleached between bookings (floors, ceilings, light fittings, doors, windows, all flat surfaces, all appliances etc). Unless there is torrential rain during the turnaround and cleaning process, all doors and windows are left open for several hours so that the caravan is thoroughly aired and freshened. The beds have now been upgraded to provide better comfort. I believe there is one bedroom window that sometimes steams up. We are looking into how best to address this. Out of the 9 windows in the caravan, the end windows that overlook the garden and across to the sea have a hedge immediately outside and beneath the bottom edges. This had grown up and was obscuring part of the view. We were unable to prune this because of blackbirds and sparrows nesting; it would have been illegal to disturb them - and in any case does not fit with out ethos of enouraging wildlife into the garden. (The birds have now fledged and the hedge has been pruned). There were some tools around in our front yard. This was unavoidable as we had had problems with a leaking porch roof and damaged walls which required urgent work which could only be done during good weather. Ideally, we would have waited until there was a lull in bookings, but this never came. We took care to only carry out noisy work when guests were out for the day. I had felt that the private, secluded patio to the other side of the caravan, with sitting area, flowers and views over the adjacent stream and fields with bee hives, buzzards and the heron visiting would more than compensate. The exterior building work is now largely complete.
