A lovely cottage with all the amenities for a couple and their dogs.

Nice linen on a comfortable bed. Well equipped kitchen. Large fireplace ( which we didn’t use ). Warm under floor heating. A good enclosed shower. Enclosed gardens to keep your pets safe. A nice welcome pack was left. Unfortunately, I fell on entering the property as one of the rugs slipped beneath my feet and I landed heavily on the tiled floor. I had to be helped up by my husband and the neighbour. I was bruised quite badly and had to spend the next day recovering. I would suggest removing this hazard. There is also a big step down from the hall to the lounge which should be highlighted. The carpet in the bedroom was heavily stained. The cottage had dusty areas and damp behind the toilet. The washing machine rubber has some mold inside the lip. The cottage is set back from a main road but it’s quiet and has off road parking. Despite these drawbacks we did have a nice holiday. It’s a lovely holiday home which could be excellent with a few minor improvements.

I stayed in White Lilac Cottage (next door) a month ago which I wrote was one of the best, and Menai Cottage was just as lovely and cosy.

We did a lot of cooking and baking and the kitchen which was so well equipped - thank you so much. As a regular visitor to Ynys Mon I know I’ll be back.

Great location - pub over the road, shop just up the street, lovely local farm shop, great view of the Snowdon massif opposite the cottage, arguably the best beach on the island Newborough only 15 mins away by car.

What a wonderful stay in Menai Cottage.

Such a cosy escape which is perfectly placed for beautiful walks. We loved the view of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) from the window and the underfloor heating was very popular with our dogs! Every part of the cottage is so well thought out, it’s clear that Richard has a passion for hospitality and enjoys making his guests comfortable. The welcome gifts were very much appreciated as was the text to say the cottage was ready early. The garden was so pretty and full of birdsong. Both the front and back gardens had places to sit so we could enjoy breakfast or a cup of tea. They were both extremely dog friendly too which, as owners of two Cairn Terriers, was very much appreciated. We felt very comfortable letting the dogs into the garden while we were in the kitchen without worrying that they would escape. Richard had even provided a dog bowl and bed in case we’d forgotten to bring these with us. I would highly recommend the this lovely cottage and helpful, friendly owner. Beautiful little cottage very cosey well maintained good location so you can get to anywhere, are dogs loved it especially the rear secluded garden .

They had a pet towel bowls and a dog bed and a treat awaiting them when we arrived. Lovely views from the front as well pub accross the road a cafe on opposite corner a shop and takeaway just down the road

Great week on Anglesea.

Menai Cottage was lovely and in a great spot. The cottage was cosy and had all I needed. The yard in the back was great for the dogs and the views of the mountains were amazing. The local gifts were a lovely surprise and very kind. Loved Hooton Farm and their jacket potatoes. The pub was nice and welcoming. We will be back next year!

We really enjoyed our stay in Menai cottage.

It was very comfortable and we had everything there we could possibly need. Grateful it was very dog friendly and we didn't have to worry about her escaping at all !!! Both the pub and cafe over the road did excellent food and were also handy to pop into for a quick drink or coffee Oh and forgot about the beautiful view of Snowdonia ! We would not hesitate to stay there again.

I have already contacted paige to complain about this cottage shocking place for over £1000 for 2wks I have sent photos, we had to leave almost 1wk early as we couldn't bear to stay any longer totally unacceptable and ruined our holiday this place in serious need of TLC

Well equipped good location

My husband and I really loved our short break at Menai Cottage.

It is super cute and had absolutely everything we needed - as well as a stunning view of Snowdonia. Richard, the owner, helpfully texted me to let us know that the cottage was ready for us, and it was much earlier than we had expected, which was great. He had left delicious bara brith and local eggs for us on our arrival, AND some treats for our little dog! A lovely and welcoming gesture. The cottage was very clean, warm and cosy. We were lucky enough to enjoy the most fabulous weather while we were on the island, so we made use of the Weber barbecue one evening in the courtyard garden at the back of the house. The pub across the road is good, the landlord & landlady are very friendly, as were the locals - especially when we thought we’d lost our keys! The only minor downside of the cottage, for us, as we are both tall, 6ft+, was that the doorway from the living room to the kitchen is really low - only to be expected with such an old and characterful cottage. I forgot to duck one day and cracked my head (hard!), coming out of the kitchen, but the cottage is so lovely that it wouldn’t deter us from staying again! Thank you Richard. Your cottage was a very, very lovely home for our stay.

Menai cottage is a lovely cosy cottage with amazing views.

The owner has provided everything you need for a very comfortable stay including a lovely welcome pack. I am fussy and took my own pillow but the bedding was so comfortable I never used it. The enclosed front and back gardens were very safe for our dogs who could mooch in and out easily. The bedroom is large and has plenty of storage and a dressing table and mirror which may sound simple but is not always available when we have stayed elsewhere with a hairdryer socket near too! All in all it is a lovely warm and welcoming place to stay. It is a part of the island we had not stayed before nor even driven through but we will definitely be back.

The property was good and well equiped - I feel it could do with a good painting especialy woodwork.

The bed was really compfy had a great night sleep, the sofa was not so compfy but managed. The owner Richard left a few gifts which was a nice surprise and Richard was very helpfull . Great location and veiws from the cottage, access to the cottage was brilliant. The only downside to us, was that the bathroom was downstairs, but other than that we would certainly return to this quaint cottage.

In your cottage description, please consider adding a photo of the picturesque Snowdonia view from both the lounge and bedroom. Also the addition of the great dog walk down to the Menai from the front door was greatly valued as our early /last dog walk of the day.

Enclosed front & back yards were perfect for our toddler and dog. Great local walks & near to various local attractions. Thoughtful gifts on arrival thank you. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Had a really nice stay in the cottage and the host Richard was very helpful too.

We stayed with our 2 teenagers and Richard did say that it might be a bit snug but that was the chance we took, for 4 adults it maybe was a little small but we still enjoyed it otherwise. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed, very clean and tidy with sturdy furniture and also in a great location to tour Anglesey. With a shop and takeaway nearby and a pub next door you have everything you need in a lovely village.

! Everything you need is there and we had the best nights sleep. The owner Richard was absolutely amazing and couldn't do any more for us. And the the little welcome gift was a really nice touch! I can't recommend enough this place and we looking forward to booking again in the hopefully near future.

The welcome gifts he had waiting upon arrival were delightful and thoughful (including a wee treat for my dogs). Basic necessities were provided, there was plenty of information available, both for the cottage and surrounding areas. The cottage was cosy, well furnished and impeccably clean. The pub across the road served fab food, with a lovely welcome too and the people of the village exemplified the Welsh warmth. Had a fantastic time and will return.

Property ideally positioned for visiting various locations.

It had all amenities that you would need. Unfortunately the seating (sofa and chair very uncomfortable). Also found the property too small for us.

Very comfortable cottage, ideal for a couple plus a dog.

The view out front is Snowdonia with a suntrap court yard at the rear. A circular walk starts right outside the door taking you down to the Menai straight. The pub opposite is a friendly locals bar serving most days. A 10 minute drive to Menia bridge you will find restaurants and cafés, highly recommend the Indian "Spice island" and the Vegan cafe "Green olive" for lunch. Oriel Mon is a fantastic art gallery about 25 minutes drive, allow half a day to explore local it's treasures. We will book again when we return to the area.

The cottage is lovely very cozy and comfortable, we love it there the only negatives were the washing line didn't work properly and the light on the extractor fan didn't work, but we love the place and would definitely go back again.

Great location to explore Anglesey and North Wales. Lovely cottage that had everything we needed for our week in Feb. It was lovely and warm, had a comfy bed, friendly local pub across the road, brill. Nice welcome from the owner who was there on hand to ensure we're had a good stay at the cottage.

Lovely cottage, very dog friendly, our dog went straight to the dog bed provided when we arrived and made herself at home.

The cottage is well equipped, clean and warm . The view from the front is awesome. Well situated to explore Ynys Mon. Lots of information provided about the island, found this useful in planning our trips. The cafe across the road is excellent and pub is nearby. Very comfortable bed, slept in a few times, normally don't sleep past 6am at home! Had a lovely stay and hope to be back soon.

Richard is a lovely host and is always there to help if you need him. Thank you for our welcome gift it was very much appreciated. The cottage is so quaint and has a large gated front garden with the most amazing view over wales, and lovley sun trap private court yard to the rear of the property. Excellent for your fur babies. It is also great for walks with the dog down to the straight, just go passed the coffee shop and follow the lane down to the house with the white stones, go passed the house not left and you will come to a beautiful pebble beach. Very quite and un spoilt. This cottage is in a great spot for discovering Anglesey and we are looking forward to our 3rd visit see you soon Richard.

A really lovely and relaxing stay at Menai Cottage.

Ideal for a couple well kept, a nice comfortable bed, well equipped kitchen and reliable shower. Great location, excellent views good parking. Loved the pub and ate there, also the cafe which did a very decent bacon sandwich. Perfect for exploring Anglesey with gorgeous beaches a short drive away and great place to eat like Dylan’s and the Oystercatcher. However you don’t need to move as the pub food is very nice and not expensive. The dogs loved it too, a great enclosed area at the front and back of the property, very safe and secure. Richard, the owner thanks, you are very welcoming and we appreciated your text to let us know the cottage was ready. We loved your fresh eggs and gift too, such a nice touch. We really enjoyed our stay and it’s clear that you make an effort to ensure that all goes to plan.

Amazing stay at Menai Cottage everything was perfect, so well kept and many amazing facilities.

The bed is comfy and the shower really powerful and hot. Pleasantly surprised too as the internet was way better than we had hoped with both WiFi speed and Smart TV choices. Sofa on the small side for those who like to lounge together but that is quite literally my only tiny criticism, and the cottage is small so it’s proportional. Mabel our dog was very happy with her welcome treats and we too were grateful with the local treats left by Richard the owner. A lovely touch. The rear garden is a little Sun trap for nice breakfasts and quiet reading time. We would love to come back and miss it already.

Great location with fabulous walks and beaches within easy reach. Nice pub across the road. Lovely, enclosed dog friendly court yard at the back of the cottage - a little sun trap in the evening, along with a nice enclosed area to the front. Easy access via key box and parking was not a problem right outside the property. Very friendly host, Richard, who sent a very welcoming text to let us know he was there if we needed him. Nice welcoming gifts not just for the adults but for our little fury friends as well. We had a wonderful week and will definitely be returning.

A beautiful, cosy, very pet friendly cottage with amazing views of Snowdon (weather permitting) across the Menai Straits.

No designated parking however there are opportunities to park close by, so we didn't find it an issue. Great communication with the owner, just wish we could've stayed longer as we still have lots to explore and see on the Island. We'd love to return!

Fabulous new year break, well located cottage and very helpful host.

One of the more generously proportioned small cottages we've stayed in for two and two border collies wouldnt want to stay with 4 adults , we dont have kids so cant comment on the sofa bed situation , but be aware that because of the open plan stair case lights downstairs and tv noise do spill upstairs . Host stayed texted on the morning to say it was ready, nice touch. My only gripe but this is the same for most cottages is the lighting downstairs isnt brilliant, cottages tend to cater for a cosy atmosphere not for those of us who like to sit and knit in an evening

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Menai Cottage.

It is beautifully appointed throughout. It is cosy and warm and was thoroughly clean on arrival. We took our two dogs and the courtyard at the back is very secure. It is in a lovely location with so much to do within easy reach : walk out of the front door and you can see Snowdonia and the Menai Straights. The owner really does go above and beyond to make your stay special : still enjoying the complimentary sea salt from the local supplier. One minor minor issue (and I’m being picky here because the place is lovely) : I’d recommend the owner getting a couple more pillows.

Menai cottage is a perfect little getaway.

Its clean and comfortable and has everything we needed for our "getaway from everything and relax" holiday. The views from the cottage are breathtaking. It's in an ideal spot to explore Anglesey, with lots of woodland walks and nice beaches to explore close by. Nice friendly pub on doorstep and we highly recommend the takeaway in the village. Our Cockapoo, Annie, had a brilliant holiday. The cottage is really well equipped for dogs. Thank you to the owner, Richard. Your advice on places to take Annie and see wildlife too was perfect. Thank you for the thoughtful welcome gifts for us and Annie too.

A lovely well kept cottage, very clean and comfortable, we loved it and didn't want to leave, it was nice that the dogs were welcome and Richard had left them treats as well as gifts for us, all round a really enjoyable few days can't wait to go back, thank you so much.

Menai Cottage is absolutely beautiful, the pictures do not do it justice.

It's very spacious, homely and comfortable. We had everything we needed and the owner, Richard was really helpful, friendly and even kindly brought us some wood. I can't wait to stay here again. Thank you for letting us stay in your stunning holiday home, we will most certainly be back!

Compact and bijou, cosy and warm.

Fabulous views from the bedroom! Kitchen well equipped - we cooked every night and had all we needed. Washing machine was a godsend! Good selection of information on area and we used the walking book a number of times. High walled back yard/garden was great for our dogs. Owner left a lovely food gift and an assuring message that he was available if we needed anything. Overall it was just what we required for a dog friendly, self catering, active walking holiday.

We loved the cottage and it was lovely and clean and well cared for.

Our issue was the comfort, in wanting the cottage to sleep four when it’s really only big enough for two, this means the sofa is a sofa bed which is uncomfortable to sit for any time on and the chair is small. TV only very small and although has free view there are no apps so you can not log into own Netflix etc.. using WiFi. If weather is good this isn’t a problem but on wet days it’s nice to get comfy and relax. We would return again and again if the lounge was more comfortable a large sofa and bigger more modern TV ( I don’t mean huge just big enough you don’t have to wear glasses) Some starter fuel for the wood burner would have been nice as this is a feature of the cottage.

Sitting in the front garden with your morning coffee or evening drink is perfection with the views. Plenty of local walks and nothing is too far away in the car. We thoroughly enjoyed our week here. Pub next door is very friendly with good food. Thank you to Richard for our stay and our lovely little welcome gifts to start our holiday.

Brilliant small cottage with soul.

There is everything what you need for your holiday and pets friendly, also front and beautiful private back yard when you can spend hours on the fresh air. Definitely we'll coming back. Thank you for fantastic stay and see you next time. Kris and family :)

Smart TV, but recommend Firestick as no access to Netflix.

Good location with beautiful views from the cottage across the snowdon mountain range.

Plenty of local walks but nowhere is too far from this base. Beaumaris is 9 miles away. Cottage is comfortable , clean and a lovely place to return to after an active day.

Loved the extra items for the dog which was a lovely idea, totally unexpected and well thought.

Having the back yard was great, as our dog didn’t need to constantly be on a lead. Views spectacular across the Welsh hills. Great holiday location

Highly recommended.

One of the best cottages we have stayed in during out over 10 years of staycations. Walks around the village for an early morning or evening stroll. Close to Bangor, Caernarvon and Newborough with it's dog friendly beach. Co-op is about 6 minutes door to door and there is a small retail outlet in Llanfair PG for souvenirs etc. Hooten's farm shop is a must for good quality meat, jams and chutneys. The cottage is warm and comfortable and ideal for 2 people and a dog. The front garden gives you a stunning view of the mountains of Snowdon. Both back and front gardens get the sun. Cottage would be lovely for Christmas, cooking a dinner in the well equipped, but small kitchen may be a challenge. However with pub opposite (it wasn't open at the time) it could be an alternative option.

We had a wonderful time in this charming quaint little cottage.

Set in a little village with amazing view's of Snowdonia. Great if you have your dog with you as both the front and back courtyards are enclosed, and sun traps, fab walks down to the beach straight in front of you past the coffee shop and to the right of the cottage down lovely country lanes. I cannot comment about the pub across the road as it was still closed due to covid, but it did look very nice and reasonably priced. There is a farm shop just down the road past the church to the left of the cottage, which has a large range of locally sourced food's and fabulous steaks.There is also a small shop on the main street that stocks most things that you may need, Richard the owner who is very helpful would give you directions to the supermarkets if needed. This is a great base for exploring the beautiful island of Anglesey and its wonderful beaches you cannot go wrong. Thank you to Richard for being a perfect host. Would highly recommend this charming cottage for a relaxing break.
