White Lilac Cottage

White lilac cottage is a cute, clean, comfortable place to stay (creaking floorboards adding to the character of the cottage).

Ideal for a couple, although the steep narrow stairs and low doorways were a slight problem for two ageing six footers! Apart from the leaking front window and overflowing front gutter during an apocalyptic rain storm, the overall ambience was perfect for exploring the beautiful island of Anglesey. The message from the owner saying the cottage was ready early for us and the welcome gifts on arrival contributed to a lovely few days.

Such a lovely little cottage, perfect for a couple and a small dog.

Bedroom is a good size and the king-size bed was comfortable, enough storage too. Downstairs shower room with the only loo, it is small but just enough room to dry yourself in the cubicle. The kitchen is well laid out, full of all the equipment you may need. Just remember to turn on the hot water under the kitchen sink. The living room is quite dark and small, due to the age of the cottage, of course. The photo's on-line make the room seem alot bigger! However, nothing wrong with it. Provided with 2 lamps and blankets too. Underfloor heating but we didn't need to use it. The back garden is gravelled and paved and the outdoor lights on the tree make it look pretty magical. There is a small round table and 2 chairs. The front yard is paved and got really hot - so check the heat before letting your dog onto. There is a wooden bench to sit on. The welcome gifts were a kind thought and much appreciated. There was plenty of on-road parking and the road outside was fairly quiet; very quiet at night. The front door has gaps in it where the wood joints have separated so may not be as strong as it should be. It will let cold air in too. The people who run the pub were really friendly. The customers were pretty chatty too. Lots of places to visit with around 30 minutes from the cottage. A really enjoyable holiday. Thank you.

Lovely little cottage unfortunately if you are over 5ft you are constantly bending your head, or hitting it on the doors.

The bed was very comfortable just need a TV upstairs as the photos show. We arrived on the Sunday and the nearest pub was open very friendly people unfortunately it was then closed until the Thursday and we were leaving on the Wednesday. There is a shop within walking distance. The beach closest to where we were was full of shells which made it hard for the dogs to walk on.

Infestation of big black flies for the first three nights.

A howling dog in the evenings next door. No instructions as to how to use the television. I noticed in the visitors book this has been mentioned before and nothing has been done. It was well situated and the bed very comfy and it was clean.

Excellent accommodation, great location and the views are outstanding.

Kitchen is well equipped with everything you need. Sitting room and bedroom are very comfortable. Having our breakfast outside in the back garden made for a good start to the day. The cottage is well situated for visits to various places around the island, all in all, one of the best holidays we have had.

The cottage suited our needs perfectly and we couldn't fault it.

We enjoyed having seating out the front and in the back garden. It would have been useful to have had a small table in the front as well as the one in the back, but that wasn't an issue by any means. The back garden was lovely and gave a shaded place to sit, a little bit more pruning would have enabled us to utilise the full space. Our comments are not criticism but just suggestions to enhance the whole experience. We loved it and the view across to the mountains was stunning.

A very sweet cottage/house with incredible views over to Snowdonia from the front.

We were very comfortable there and had everything we needed. It's well placed so easy to go and explore all parts of the island. Thanks so much for the welcome gifts as well, such a kind and much appreciated touch.

What a lovely, cosy, warm, comfortable cottage!

Perfect base for exploring both Anglesey and Snowdonia/North Wales. Great communication from the owner, who is available for any questions or problems, should they arise. Only one slight 'niggle'. There was no tv in the bedroom, despite it showing on the cottage listing. Other than this, the cottage was perfect for me and my dog. Hope to return in the future.

I’m a regular visitor to that part of Anglesey and have stayed in a number of Sykes cottages in recent years.

All lovely so far but White Lilac Cottage was one of the best especially for comfort (under floor heating) and lovely touches like the welcome barabrith and eggs. Great views over Snowdonia and the Menai Straits too when the sun shone. And Richard was very responsive to queries. Thank you.

Nice cosy cottage, we had a good stay.

There is fine walking direct from the cottage to Menai Strait, or a little bit further at Newborough. Beautiful dunes, beach, forest and peninsula with an old ligthouse. Excellent! There are also a Dolmen and a Burial Chamber to visit, and the big stone Lions Beneath the Brittania Bridge. I wish we could have stayed longer than 3 days.

Lovely cosy cottage, excellent location in small village close to a pub.

Couldn't find kindling, fire lighters for the woodburner.

I knew we were staying in a cottage.

I would not recommend it for people over 5'6". Despite the many warnings posted on door frames, we both hit our heads several times. I am 5'10" and my husband is 6ft. The turning at the top of the stairs was awkward. I hit my head a couple of times. Otherwise, it was well equipped. Compact and bijou. A great base for touring the island. The Welcome gift was a nice touch. The owner was very helpful.

We had a wonderful time in Anglesey with White Lilac Cottage as our base - a comfortable and homely cottage to come back to with our dog.

We had everything we needed - the kitchen was well stocked with all the crockery, cutlery and kitchen tools we needed. The views of Snowdonia from the front were amazing and there was a comfortable enclosed garden at the back to relax. Thank you very much

A very enjoyable stay at the cottage.

Lovely views, very comfy bed and I am a really bad sleeper but I slept well. One minor issue the back garden is pretty overgrown and could do with a tidy up, the garden table and chairs had bird poo on when we arrived. It was great though to have both front and back gardens enclosed for our dogs. For me it would be nice to have a dressing table in the bedroom instead of a television. Lovely welcome gifts the eggs were delicious so much tastier than supermarket eggs! I would highly recommend staying at White Lilac Cottage and I am sure we will stay again soon.

Excellent location for touring around angelsey and north Wales, couldn't fault the cottage, very clean and comfortable, very friendly and helpful locals too.

Although White Lilac cottage was tiny it was very thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed, it was clean and comfy despite the wind and rain we were cosy.

Our dog Milo enjoyed exploring the garden and meeting people by the front gate. Brynsiencyn is an interesting village to to spend time walking around with its many ancient features, also there is a lovely walk down to the Menai Strait.

Very nice small cottage ideal for 2 people and our dog Ollie.

Pub across the road dog friendly and very friendly people food basic stuff but good, was only open Thurs to Sunday though which was a bit frustrating. Could do with putting the smart tv downstairs from the bedroom and updating the info pack as bit out of date (operating the under floor heating for example). Nice touch of welcome pack with welsh cake etc.

A marvellous holiday cottage, has everything you may need.

Located in an excellent area. Ideal base for visiting the surrounding area. For me the beautiful back garden with all the birds an enchanted part of this cottage.

Ideal for exploring Anglesey, view from the cottage is beautiful. Very clean and welcoming, had everything we needed well equipped and comfortable sofa and bed. Richard the owner was very friendly and helpful. Will recommend to friends! We hope to visit again.

A lovely little cottage with all the facilities you could ask for.

Narrow and steep stairs and a very small bathroom, which is typical for the properties age, but I would have liked to have seen this in the listing. Ideal for exploring Anglesey and the surrounding area.

A very welcome gift pack on arrival. My only disappointment was the size of the downstairs shower room, not enough room to dry off when out of the shower due to the sink taking up all the room. Other than that we had a very comfortable stay. The owner Richard is helpful and very friendly.

Delightful cottage, well equipped and comfortable.

Fantastic views from the cottage and in a very convenient place for visiting the beautiful Island or the North Wales coast. Host is extremely helpful and generous. It is a cottage I would love to return to in the future.

The cottage is quaint and homely but we had disturbed night as the smoke alarm bleeped all night.

However we messaged Richard the owner who attended quickly and sorted the problem. The only other thing was the rear garden is not dog secure they managed to get into next doors garden. Nonetheless this will not put us off returning

We could not fault anything at all. Starting with the first impression when entering the cottage we found it very comfortable, cosy and well equipped. Unfortunately, the endless rain and cold weather impaired our enjoyment, in particular since we relied on public transport. Finally, we had to cut short our stay by one day. If you are looking for a quiet country retreat we would definitely recommend Lilac Cottage.

Quaint little cottage, just right for a couple and dog.

Very well equipped with everything you could need for your holiday. Very secure areas for your pets front and back. Stunning views from the front of the house of the mountain across on the mainland. A good base to explore Anglesey from.

The cottage was very clean and well equipped, the bed was comfortable and waking up and drawing the curtains gave a fabulous view across the Menai Straits to Snowdonia, and the welcome pack was very thoughtful.

We would not hesitate to book this cottage again if it is available when we next visit Anglesey!
